Hi, I'm a new member obviously. I am a Baptist, was baptized in 2006 then fell off the wagon. Have lately been feeling this "pull'' towards my bible and church and I know that is the Lord trying to get me back. Hello all! Before I tell you all about me, I suppose I should take the time to actually explain why I'm here. Over at Glenn Beck's The Blaze website, I have an account (going by the same moniker). I'm a 46 year old woman, 3 grown children, divorced. I grew up southern baptist and always believed in God. For many years I quit going to church. The last few years have been extremely horrible for me and my family. I tried to convince myself that God didn't exist so I could commit suicide. Hello everyone. My husband is in the Air Force and we are stationed in Germany at the present. We attend a small IFB church here and lead children's church. Hi folks. I've been saved for 44 years, which means nothing except had I died before now I would have gone to heaven. For a little over two years it has meant that I live submitting myself to His will for my life everyday. I retired a little more than three years ago from a job of about 29 years. Had intended to take another job and keep working but God had other plans. Due to some physical ailments I was not able to go back to work and for the last two years I've spent about 10 hours a day either studying or discussing Gods Word. I am always looking for different avenues for the Lord to lead me, maybe this can be one of them. I look forward to learning from others wisdom…

Greetings all! I found this forum looking on google. I go to a church in Christchurch, New Zealand. Christchurch Family Baptist. It is pretty much independent missionary baptist.. which would be the same as or very similar to IFB. I have been a long time member at Christianchat.com but there are so many different types of christians posting in there it can get really confusing and sometimes muddy my own views on scripture. Howdy everyone. It's been about a year since I last logged on here for anything other than to respond to a personal message, but I think a lot of you may remember me. Many years ago I came across a sermon an IB preacher named Gary Dice when he visited Australia, and from memory he was preaching on this passage, or at least referencing it. He sang a slightly silly song about this section of Romans 7, but I have never been able to find any reference to it anywhere else. I would appreciate it if anyone has heard of it and could give me a reference or link to it, or best case, the sheet music. I know there are many songs that come up when you do a google search, but none of them have been the one I am looking for. It has the words almost direct from the KJV, not just something loosely based on that text. Thanks folks.

I also noticed he seems quieter, perhaps more humble this time. But even last time I had come to view his particular tendency to boast as just having an immensely positive attitude. He's also careful to thank others and to offer credit where credit is due, while having no compunctions about calling out anyone who deserves none. -

Just to clarify on the repenting God did when Israel turned from their evil ways. The thing here is that their turning from evil ways here is called... works. So since salvation isnt by works ..and turning from evils ways IS works.. hence the issue with repent meaning 'turn from sin'. So there is what I was meaning. -

Thankfully the pastors I know NEVER STOPPED preaching the gospel. Remember, TGL, they're to preach the whole counsel of God, not just salvation messages. And just to be clear, preaching messages that promote conservative, Biblical values is imperative. Maybe one should let the Holy Spirit guide in what these pastors preach, eh?
