Hi, my name's Matt, but as you can see, I go by swordbearer on here. I'm a Christian, and can't say I really have been, except for about 4 years ago. From a young age, I was told Jesus was my Saviour, and I received that, but it wasn't until recent that I can say that I actually began to develop and learn more about my faith. I started by calling myself Catholic, but I've come a long way from then. Hope I can find some good fellowship here, non Phariseeical environment, but not Sadduceeical either. Hi! I'm Celina and I'm back! I joined the forum back in 2012. And I remembered being part of this forum and decided to come back. Things have been rocky. God is gracious enough to welcome me back into the flock. I have backslidden and lived a life not glorfying God. Realized how i messed my life, I run back to the Father. I got saved in 1982 when I was in a crisis. I walked into a Bible church, and talked to the pastor. I got saved that day, and in a few months I moved from TX to WA. I asked my neighbors about churches, and heard a lot of negative comments about one in particular. This church was described as "legalistic", "fanatical", etc, etc. This sounded interesting! I decided to go. I walked in to morning services on Round up Sunday, and sat under an evangelist named Al Lacy. I was hooked! The people in this church taught me so much. Independent Baptist missionaries and not only living like kings in Eastern Europe I worked from early 2000s for missionaries in my country and I got saved through their work, back then when people did not have much, did not want much. I was raised in a Bible environment but in my country all the born again christians don't believe in assurance of salvation and the standards are low. Hello members, I was a practicing christian as a teenager but fell away shortly after enlisting in the Navy. I hope I'm doing this right - I'm still learning how to navigate the website. I became a Christian as a child in a Charismatic Church but upon study - decided to follow IFB beliefs. I know "following" a church is not the way to please God but I do think we're supposed to apply intellectual effort to discern right doctrine. Posted by a person in another forum: regarding Paul talking about 'not permitting a woman to speak': 'Scholars and Theologians have pointed out that verses (which they did not have chapter and verse originally) in 1 Corinthians 14.. 34-35 were originally a gloss written in the margin of 1 Corinthians by a non-Pauline hand but eventually inserted into the text of later manuscripts in different places (after v. 33 in some and after v. 40 in others). And for 1 Timothy 2:12.. The view of a large majority of modern scholars of 1 Timothy is that the epistle was not written by Paul, but dates to after Paul's death and has an unknown author. As a pseudepigraphical work incorrectly attributed to Paul, the verse is often described as deutero-Pauline literature or as a pastoral epistle.' My thoughts are this is coming from skeptical scholars who have no reverence for God's Word..but I don't actually know the counter arguments to this. Your thoughts? -

Yes, the Bible mentions dragons, behemoths, leviathans and unicorns. But, curiously, it never mentions things like jackals, elephants, crocodiles, or the rhinoceros which were once indigenous to the Middle East and even Israel itself. Is that because it really does mention them by other names, like, they were once called dragons, behemoths, leviathans and unicorns? I don't know for sure though I do suspect so. But no one can not honestly say that the Bible mentions dinosaurs. Ancient peoples also drew pictures, made carvings and sculptures of animals with human parts and humans with animal parts, horses with wings, horses with horns in their foreheads, snakes with wings, lions with wings, half man-half horses and all kinds of fanciful stuff, But that doesn't mean those things existed. -

Job and Psalms refer to several dinosaurs after the flood. Man walked with dinosaurs. They were not killed due to any disaster, but were a threat or a source of hunting for man and man caught and killed them over hundreds or thousands of years. There are pictures and drawings of various creatures men killed during the dark ages; therefore men encountered them and fought them even since the time of Christ. All may be killed off now.
