New Marshall family CD!!!!!!!!

They have a new CD out called "One More Mile"... I'm thinking about buying it soon.. I have almost all of their other CDs, so this one would just add to my collection. :cool http://music.johnmarshallfamily.com/omm I heard some of the samples, and it sounds like great music for young people/teens. It's got the John Marshall family singing with the Berean Baptist Youth, so you get some stuff that sounds like it came from a college choir. It's really neat. :smile

I used to like modern (well, it was modern 10-15 years ago, that is!) country music a lot, and when I hear it, it still draws me. Now, once in a while I hear some Christian music that sounds somewhat like modern soft country music, and I don't know what to think of it. Would listening it make me long for country music again? Will having my daughter listen to this sort of music give her an appetite for that country style? Or is it ok? I'm not sure what to think. Would this be one of those things that perhaps I personally shouldn't listen to because of my past liking of country music, but for someone else it would be ok? Here's an example although this is fairly tam…

I was doing a search for an old tape I used to listen to when I was a kid, and I ran across this website. I'm not sure if you can buy the music there or what, but they have some neat old gospel music. The music I was looking for if anyone wants to do a search was a tape from years ago by the Back to the Bible Quartet. I don't know the name of the tape, but it had the song "Rejoice, Rejoice, my son is coming home again..." on it. Here's that site I found: http://www.sacred-music.org

I typed up this question on OBL and am getting some interesting responses. I thought you bunch of debaters might like to give this one a go, too! Recently I heard my 4 year old singing a popular S.S. song and it got me thinking about this question again. Through the years, as we've been lead by the Lord to different churches (and because of moving) some when we were new Christians at more liberal churches....and later 2 different very conservative IFB churches, I have heard the song "I have the joy, joy,joy...down in my heart--where? down in my heart..." then they will tack on this other little "verse"...."and if the devil doesn't like it, he can sit on a tack, sit…

I heard on the radio this morning that the David Crowder Band ("Christian") is playing in main stream clubs this year. How low can supposively Christian bands go to present the gospel.

A friend needs help with finding this song: -------- Please help me out... Several years ago I heard a song called "Sing Me the Story of the Cross." I played the piano for our church at the time, and a group in our church sang it. I would love to do this song again, but I don't have any words or music. I also have no idea who sang it! Here are the words I remember: Sing me the story of how He bled and died Take me to the mountain, let me see Him crucified Remind me of the place I found victory through his loss Would you sing me the story of the cross. These words are probably not exactly right, but it's something close to that. If anyone has heard of this song, …

Im obviously not a Lutheran, but I found this hymn a while ago, and though I would toss it out here to have everyone take a look! to this song I can't quite remember? I know part of the chorus is: Where are my sins? They're Under the blood That was shed for you and me Oh what love! That's all I can remember. I tried looking it up on google, but can't seem to find anything except a picture of the group that sings it. Shannon Nix and Southern Praise.

We just came off of a "navy" themed Vacation Bible School in which our youth pastor rewrote the words to the song " I'm in the Lords army" to fit a navy theme. Do any of you know of any more 'verses'? I remember hearing a space theme one time and wondered if their were any more..... I know about singing the original in diff. ways, like cowboy and Indian but are there other verses as well?

This question is for the people that think that Rock Music, Christian or secular is wrong. So, with that assumption, at what point is it sin? Is it when a person hears it, enjoys it, plays it, etc? Thanks a lot. PEP

He is such an excellent pianist. Tonight he spoke about how integral music ought to be in our lives. He also talked about making sure our worship music has meat to it, not just empty words. Very good.

We sang this song last weekend, and I thought it was an old hymn. Its powerful lyrics are reminiscent of the theology we find in so many great hymns. To my delight, this was just recently written. This kind of theology is so lacking in so much "new" Christian music. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy worship music, but much of it is fluf, and I have no problem admitting that. I was glad to see that writing good music is not dead. In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease M…

This is my 14 year old son, Jonathan, doing lead vocals, playing mandolin, rhythm guitar and standup bass (not all at the same time). My son, Josh is playing the dobro, our friend Jacob is playing the banjo and I'm backing up on tenor and baritone vocals. If your church uses a hymnal, what one do you use? Who publishes it and what year was it published? Our church uses the American Broadman Hymnal published in 1957. I also enjoy music from the Baptist Hymnal.
