How Can I Fear?

Has anyone else seen this piano solo book yet? It contains moderate to advanced piano solos by Shelly Hamilton, all very nice, and spiral-bound! Several of the arrangements are ones I recognise from Piano Praises. I've had that recording since I was a kid, (and it was long enough ago that I bought it on tape) and now I'm tickled pink to be able to play some of the songs on it!

I was reading Psalm 22 earlier, was blessed by it and remembered this song, "It Was For Me". This is such a beautiful song; I hope you enjoy it as well. Why leave a Heav'nly mansion? Why choose a simple stall? Why wander poor and homeless, The King and Lord of all? Why heal a lonely beggar? Why cause the blind to see? The Light of all creation, Shining there for me. It was for me He cried, for me He died, For me He shed His blood upon the tree. It was for me He came, for me His shame; For me, oh, praise His name, it was for me. Why stay in Olive's garden? Why spend the night in prayer? Why suffer such betrayal, In anguish kneeli…

Hello.. my wife has low voice and would like to be able to convert all her sheet music to digital files that can be transposed. I've downloaded demos of Allegro, Finale PrintMusic, and SmartScore(songbook ed). SmartScore Songbook edition so far is the only one that will retain the words. But I hate to spend $200 for such "extreme" software. I mean, you could write a symphony with this thing. Isn't there something easier/simpler/cheaper? Isn't there something that will retain words, transpose the music, and print without all the bells and whistles??

So much has been said about Christian rock, ccm, southern gospel, classical music, etc. My concern is the very subtle way that supposedly mild secular music can enter into a Christian's life and then lead them into other more destructive forms of music....I guess what I'm trying to say is that the flesh is never satisfied.... that there is ALWAYS a danger when we open the door just a peak, then satan steps his dirty foot in and we have "given place to the devil"; we have made provision for the flesh, so to speak. I've hear young and old alike say that the old "bubble gum" rock, like groups from the 60's and early 70's is harmless COMPARED to what we have today. Isn't t…

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place online to get free legal music. I'm specially looking for some good singing quartet stuff. The things I found so far are of very poor quality.

Here's some experimantal Traditional Japanese wannabe music that I made in FL Studio. I'm taking music class right now, so I might make other interesting tunes later. This track still needs some work, but I decided to let you all listen to it now since I don't know whether I will be able to work on it further or not. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInf ... I wanted to thank whoever it was who recommended some music a while back in another thread. The music is by the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team. After checking out their music here: www.oldchristianmusic.com , I ordered these two cd's: http://www.oldchristianmusic.com/mprodu ... d-see.html http://www.oldchristianmusic.com/mprodu ... round.html I just got them recently, and they've been such a huge blessing to me! I can't speak highly enough of this music!

Here's a little something I made, nothing too special, might work with it a little more later. No, I didn't play it with my hands, I told the computer which notes to play; easier to change a note if you make a mistake. I can't play piano that well with my hands. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInf ... ID=4277120

Where can I find Christian orchestral music? Kind of like Celtic Woman style? They are a secular band but they have one Christian song that a friend let me listen to. Preferably free, but not required.

Yesterday we saw a vehicle that had a bumper sticker that said, "The Lion Of The Tribe Of Judah". This vehicle also had a license plate with the word, "Zion" in it. So we were thinking that the owner of the vehicle was of the Christian persuasion in some way. Then we noticed some small stickers on the window that looked like Alice Cooper w/o the face paint. :o Our immediate thought was, "Those stickers don't go with the bumper sticker and license plate". Upon closer inspection, we saw that the stickers were of a "Christian" rock group. The "artist" looked like a heavy metal druggie. Folks, if there is no difference in how your …

I posted something similar in another, bigger thread, but nobody seems to have noticed, so I'm starting a new thread. The way I understood it is: The drums are OK, but the Rock-style rhythm has something to do with idol worship. Is that correct? I have a few other questions: What about Pop music? There are different types of Pop music as well, some don't even have beat, are those OK? What about Electronica? Techno, Dance, House, etc. has a unique rhythm, known as 4x4 or four to the floor. It usually has a kick every beat, a clap or light snare every second beat, and an off-beat open hat. Nothing like Rock, seems to me, but I know that Techno has a hypnotic effect…

Anybody ever heard of a song entitle, I'll not be afraid of this trip home, or I won't dread this trip home. I don't know who sang it or anything else about it.

Hi Everybody, I would be pleased to hear how you-all got involved in music and singing (if you are currently and actively involved in that). This idea came to me from Termite's entries in the thread, "Tone Death", wherein she described her experiences with the students she teaches. I thot it would make a discussion-worthy thread. I already gave my entry over there, so will just give a quick synopsis here. I was 18 at the time, and a very Godly Pastor's wife wanted to have a youth choir at the church our family went to. Very few of us young people knew how to sing (I was probably the worst), but she taught us to harmonize with the pitch given by the pi…

confusion
by Guest Guest- 8 replies

My friend and I were discussing music the other day, and he has been explaining to me for quite some time now what a rock beat is and why it is wrong etc. I have been confused a little. Well, the other day he said something to me that the Lord used to just get a hold of me. He said "Katy-Anne, God is not the author of confusion". As soon as he said that, it hit me. I had some music that I was "confused" about. The devil is the one that is the author of confusion. So therefore if I am confused about it I should relegate it to the devil's category unless I find specific evidence that it is God's music. So, I decided to go for 40 days without listening to any of the …

Sorry if this has already come up. The Bible Psalms are all songs right? So has anyone ever heard of any historical resource of the actual original tunes to them? It would be very interesting to hear!

Ok this music thing...I don't know how long I can have standards in music. Nobody is letting me have standards in anything. I hate birthday's and Christmas. I always get given stuff that is against my standards because nobody understands them or they think I need to loosen up or something. So ok I get given CCM for my birthday. So, what do I do? Ugh...out of all my CD's, I listen to those. I am so evil. I want to listen to it because my flesh likes it, but I don't want to because I know God hates it. But I don't feel like I can just throw out birthday presents, and I can't be offensive by saying something. Katy-Anne

What do you all think of this song? Verse 1: I've stood upon a mountain, seen the beauty that's surroundin' Flet such awe to think that God made this for me I've walked alone at midnight, looked up into the vast sky And seen more stars than my mind could conceive But, of all that God created, I still have my favorite It's a special place that I found years ago Though the world may not see why it means the world to me Let me try to tell you why I love it so Chorus Though it's a rocky place it's where I find my comfort And though the sun is beating down, I must look up To view the beauty of a love that came and found me My Favorite Place is at the foot …

Can someone help me with the name of this Hymn/Song and the author? "I met Jesus at the crossroads, where the two ways meet. Satan, too, was standing there and he said, 'come this way... Lots and lots of pleasures I will give to you this day.' But I said, 'no, there's Jesus here. See what He offers me. Down here, my sins forgiven; up there a home in heaven. Praise God, that's the way for me' "
