My favorite music right now is the Steve Pettit groups. I just recently got a new cd by them called "Creator of it All", and it's wonderful! I love nature, and one of my favorite passages in the Bible are in Psalm 19 - "The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth His handiwork." So this cd fits right in with some of my favorite verses!

My hearing aids have always been powerful enough to hear alot of things' date=' except high pitch such as finger scratch on chalkboard (seriously, I don't know how people hear that). [/quote']

I would consider the ability to not hear that to be a blessing!

I could sit and listen to two ABC grads all day long that we mentored in our youth group years ago.lol. One is Alisha Guzman and the other is my Bil Jonathan. I don't like classical all the much, but I do like it when they mix the hymns and christmas carols in with them. We have an instumental classical christmas cd that I really enjoy. I think it is by majesty music.

Music! We love music at our house. I love sacred instrumental and a lot of classical music. I love the Steve Petit CD called higher Ground too. I love Irish music so Higher Ground fills the bill, so to speak.
Majesty Music has some wonderful CD's of sacred instrumental music, and I can listen to Ron Hamilton sing, any time, any where. Also, Linda McKechnie has some really great instrumental CD's: Hymnworks and Hymnworks II are extremely good!!!!!!! They are combinations of sacred and classical.
Also, Rudy Atwood is one of the very best piano players in the world. He has recorded many albums.
Some really good classical music would be The Pastorale by Beethoven, The William Tell Overture by Rossini, The Peer Gynt Suite by Grieg. That is awesome! The Poet and Peasant Overture, The Nutcracker Suite. There is a 2-CD set called The Most Relaxing Classical Music in the World.. Ever! It is very good too. I could go on and on. Hee hee.
I also love good march music and bagpipes. I love bagpipes. (Great housework music!!)
John Williams' music is some of the best I ever heard, but I don't consider his music to be classical. He also did the soundtracks for the Star Wars movies of the '70's and '80's. Also all the Indiana Jones Movies, and ET. Hope this is helpful. CJP56

I have come to really enjoy harp music. I like to listen to it when I study or just to relax. I saw Jim Brikman mentioned earlier. He is great when I need to go to sleep :lol

One of the best teachings I ever heard on music was from an evangelist years ago. He basically taught that music paints pictures. What picture does the music you listen to paint in your head. This helped me weed out a lot of music that wasnt the best to be listening to. :Green

Being raised unsaved and no church influence I will admit what most christians wont. When in a store when I hear certain songs from my past the flesh wants to listen to it and the spirit does not. Talk about a battle. :-S :ooops

I thank God for the Holy Spirit within me :smile

Very interesting d-d, and I totally agree.

Along that same theme of the music painting a picture in your head, here is an example to consider.

A few years ago we had Jim Braislin in as a visiting evangelist, who ministers to the deaf. The song he signed (i.e. sang in sign language--> no voice) with his wife playing the piano was, "Here I Am LORD". Since this song is a dialog between God and the individual, he turned sideways to us and signed directly up to Heaven. His wife on the piano instilled great dynamics into her playing. There were very few dry eyes after that song.

!!! That song is already one of my faves; now I'm just dying to see it signed !!!

It was several years ago that Jim Braislin signed it, and yet the memory of it is just as fresh in my mind as the day I first saw (him signing) and heard (his wife playing on the piano) it. Their "duet" was astoundingly awesome.
