In talking with several people that I am in contact with through physical therapy, grocery shopping, my wife's place of employment, etc, I have been asked many times why Christians are so hateful when they are talking to people. I asked for examples, and some of them were shocking, many of them being from Baptist pastors, deacons, and laypeople. I'm going to list several of the conversations, abbreviated.... 1) A young man my wife works with went to a Baptist church to visit with the possibility of becoming a member with his wife and three children. They visited an I(big "I" little you) FB church. It's a pretty well-known church in the Nashville area. They went to Su…

Many years ago, I remember some Christians being against having a Christmas tree in the home. iβm not talking about the Jehovah witnesses. Iβm talking about born-again Christians. No longer, people seem to not care about it now. Some Christians put them up and some don't, it is all for fun. We all know that the holidays are for sales to gain π°more business. Christmas time, faith believer, we all can fall into it, if youβre celebrating the birth of Christ December 25th. We all know that the date is not available to us, His birth. Giving out gifts any time of the year is fine for me. π I donβt wanna be the Grinch that stole Christmas. π

Cartoons are not for real but some of them really touches on human lifestyles, they become people for the good and for bad. Charlie Brown stood out for good, was Charlie Brown a Christian cartoon, person or kid? Example of an evil cartoon will be the Simpsons, now we know they were not Christians. Everything has a good beginning but later the world twists it towards evil.

For work, I had to go to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for a few days (I wish I had had time to visit some of you Tennessee folks). ? While it is beautiful, and I enjoyed it, it made me really appreciate New England. ? It all comes down to being where God wants you, and I'm thankful it is in Connecticut, which is the basketball capital of the world. ? BTW, the airport in Murfreesboro has to be one of the tiniest airports around. βοΈ

I watch and listen to the news and shake my head, listening to these conservatives and watching what theyβre doing to each other. I know the independent Baptist Church support Republican and those that are conservative, which were very good at one time, but now it's a different story. I donβt believe that Christians should vote for the lesser of two evils. Is this a Christian thing to do? many of these politicians are lying just to get our votes, so why vote? I know that many of you will say, this is the right thing to do and it's our duty. Is it really our duty to vote for false leaders. ???

If you put your socks on first, your right foot then your left foot sock, then you put your right shoe on, and then your left shoe. Tie them if necessary, you are normal. If you put your right sock on, then youβre right shoe on, and tie, then your left side sock, left shoe, and tie. Something is wrong with you. ?

We went to a Dollar General store to buy some things for the home. I wanted to use the restroom but ran into these two signs. I was not sure which door to open, being afraid that there might be a woman using it or something, weird feeling. I didn't use it. We are living in troubled times.

Itβs nice to be in the comfort zone before you follow Jesus. The problem is, if you have everything and are living in the comfort zone, you will not depend on Him for everything. This is why he says, give it away and follow me. ? Matt.4 [19] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matt.8 [22] But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. Matt.9 [9] And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. Matt.16 [24] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If …

This was a great debate when I was going to high school, and has been raised again time and time again since. Would the citizens of the United States benefit from the dissolution of the IRS and the implementation of a National Flat Tax instead of the current graduated tax system and thousands of IRS agents? Would it be fair to everyone, or would it just be another benefit for the wealthiest one percent? Our neighbors to the North have a National Flat Tax, or something similar? Do you believe it has benefited them? Please give your reasons for the position you hold. Thanks.

Have you ever heard this phrase? Iβm going to Heaven, but I donβt want to go there today. I believe the fear of facing death, face-to-face, is why most people might say this phrase. Those who are born again, Christians have hope and we stand on His promises, that God told us we will be with him. But nobody wants to Go there today. Why do you think people say this?

My wife and I finally believe we have the open door to visit several churches in hope of finding a new church home. The church we've been members of for the last 7 1/2 years has been taking a slow drift left. We've been patient and have tried our best to effect change in the right direction but it's been to no avail. The nepotism and cronyism is something that has always bothered me. One such case of cronyism is how three years ago the pastor talked the deacons into helping a friend of the pastor. They bought the man a new zero turn lawnmower and put him in charge of the church grounds and the mowing rotation. It went fair to middlin' the first year, but the second was a…

Hi, Everyone! This is an interesting topic to me, and one very near and dear to my heart! Iβve lived and have traveled all around the country and the world. Having lived in the Middle East for a few years and spending time at a former family home in Lebanon (okay, so it was super cool to essentially wake up each morning βin the Bible!β ?), and knowing that Christianity began was born in the Middle Eastern culture and tradition, Iβm curious to hear your thoughts about how Western Christianity has developed over the millennia and, in particular, the American church experience! Letβs leave this open-ended, because there is so much here to discuss! God bless, …

So this is the third year in a row that we've been able to take a trip for our anniversary. First year we took an extended trip around the Olympic Peninsula (an 8 hour drive stretched over 4 days). Last year we were able to go to CA to see the Redwoods. The drive down the Pacific Coast Highway was beautiful. This year, we are going to north central WA, to Okanogan County. There is a church there that is hosting a fellowship meeting for the independent Baptist churches of WA. We thought we'd go and then head to one of the ghost towns in that area. Then back this way to spend the night in a town we stayed in on our move out here. Then on to church at a friend's chur…

Because, I believe this is a baptist forum. I am a baptist, many good things and bad things happens. I can post the good things only, but that would not be fare. We already have many good news only, posters. I don't get many likes here, but this is okay. I cannot even get a like to a prayer request here. God knows, this is true. I am not blind, and I do have attackers here, some are in control Admin, and will love me to just leave. I have thought about it. I will try to post some more positive posts. ?

Who is my neighbors? Do I have to love them all the same, or just love those that treats me well. There are many angry people out there. Many believers and nonbelievers the same. Christians that donβt practice this are hurtful to the ministry. These should not be placed to serve in the church. If they cannot serve outside the church. Two different Worlds

I don't know if this is the best place for this, if it please ove it. The eldest of my granddaughters is planning to transition. It is realily destroying my daughter. I said to her daughter that her mum was so upset that she could hardly speak as he was having difficulty holding back her tears. I said that what makes you think that Frankenstein doctors can make a better job than your creator. I also gave her several bible texts. The sad part is that when she was a teenager she went to camp and said she had become a Christian and was baptised and joined her local Baptist church. Soon after she went to stay with my daughter for a fortnight who said they had a…

I posted this on my facebook page so I figured I'd post it here as well. We held a Youth Rally yesterday with Pastor John Barnes preaching and I bought these bubble balls for the teens to play with. What a crazy game as the teens love it. Anyone ever play with these? Make sure the parents sign waivers before they play. lol

If you visit any country in the world, people wear clothing to protect themselves from the sun rays and the heat, here in America this does not apply, the more sun and heat, the less clothing people wear. Could this be a reason the skin cancer rate is very high also dehydration people not coping with the extreme temperatures. People walking around, almost naked itβs just not working. I think itβs a little too late to start learning from other cultures, the way they protect themselves from the extreme weather. Itβs a little too weird to walk around with an umbrella on a sunny day, not cool. ?
