Is there a 66 book video DVD bible commentary available for sale that teaches every book of the bible in a professional (i.e. non-cartoon, etc) style by a top notch bible teacher that can really bring the meaning of the bible alive for non-believers? I like expositional style preaching, line by line, from Genesis to Revelation, but would consider other formats of preaching. Closest I have found that I like is Calvary Chapel's Skip Heitzig and his video series "The Bible from 30,000 feet" where he covers in depth each book of the bible, not just the spiritual meaning of each book but also the cultural, archeaological, scientific and other aspects of each book to give the b…

I wonder how hard is it to become a home school parent. The parent, that also need to be upgraded, on their own teaching skills. Also those kids that control their parents, not disciplined.

I was talking to an individual who uses this curriculum. They told me that they spend about a 1/2 hour per day on school to complete all of the work for the 10th grade curriculum. Anyone using this curriculum out there that can tell me if this is how long it should take?

We just found out that we will not be able to use some homeschooling material for our daughters computer which we had been counting on. Please pray for wisdom on what to do. We do not have even close to the amount of money needed to buy the courses. Unless anyone has an S.O.S. for 9th grade we could buy? God bless. :)

As my wife is now 4 months with our first I need to start prepping for homeschooling. As I work from home and am more suited to the task we have decided that I will be responsible for this and seeing that I wasn't the best kid at school all advice would be appreciated.

When I get married and have children they will be homeschooled. The school year will begin the day after Labor Day and end in the first week in March so that the school year is short. The homeschooling will be done while I, my wife and children are touring around the United States and Canada doing shows for the Country Music/Country Gospel Band that I plan on forming after I learn to play the guitar. The homeschooling will be done in the morning only.

Those receiving GCSE Exam results here is the UK are said are said to to be generally lower than last year, many getting C grades when they were expecting A. My granddaughter who was home educated has received four A* grade including French and German and three A grade. She was disappointed that she only got A for English Literature and not A* She will be joining a 6th form class in a school next year to do her higher levels. The German tutor has been telling everyone that she is the girl that got A* for German after learning it at home.

Just wanted to share an experience to all the musicians and aspiring musicians with kids. I started teaching my daughter (2 years old) the piano. I know, I'm crazy. But really it was easy. I took colored construction paper and tape, and color coated two octaves of white keys. And rather than teach her A B C D E F G, I taught her Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do. Well, I've been at it for a month or two now, and not only does she know all the notes by heart, she can hit them by command as I call them out randomly. Teach your children music, because it will impact their life, and their life will impact their church, and their church will impact the world.

I home schooled my six children in an inner city. All my children were respected throughout the neighborhood and now have lifelong friends. Today, my two oldest sons own a successful business, my youngest, 23, is in her last year of law school, my two older daughters are raising their families, work and are happy, and my youngest son lives with us and is a blessing to all of us.

I decided to write my own memory sentences for studying the Middle Ages, and Biology as a family this year. This is what I wrote up for memory work. Feel free to share. HIStory Sentences Adapted from Mystery of History Volume 2; The Early Church and the Middle Ages Kingfishers History Encyclopedia Trail of Blood Everything you need to know about History homework by scholastic publishers 1. Jesus organizes His church; ‘And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father, which is in heaven. And…

I am busy getting ready for our next school year. I really love parts of the classical education model. I am writing history sentences to memorize for the Mystery of History Vol 2 (middle ages) curriculum. I am also including dates of importance from the trail of blood; I want my children to know their heritage well. With that said, is anyone here well read on the trail of blood and care to look through my 35 sentences and correct any mistakes? Thanks happy homeschooling

Our family is considering moving, and our new church would have a school. I overheard my husband talk about that as a blessing, meaning for the first time ever I would not be homeschooling. That breaks my heart, and I sort of feel like a failure if I don't. But after grading today I also feel like I am failing my kids. Prayers needed for direction for my family.

My daughter, who is 16, is looking for a good devotional she can use. She would like this to be a daily sort of format that she can use either privately, or together with my wife as an augmentation to her homeschooling. My daughter has expressed an interest that the devotional be centered on the Gospels. Any suggestions?

Homeschoolers in Alberta are fighting right now to have a section of Bill 2 altered. This bill was recently introduced into the Education Act in our province, and as stands, prohibits home educating parents from including material prohibited by the Human Rights Commission into their educational program. This means that parents will not be allowed to teach their children the Biblical position on sodomy. This is of great concern, not only for the apparent reasons, but because homeschooling parents make teaching their children a way of life. How is the government going to distinguish between the 'educational program' times and 'non-educational' times? It is an open d…
