God is very particular about what words he uses when it comes to relating truth to the believer today. Even two letters could make the difference between heaven and hell. Observe how important this is when it comes to the sinner being justified before God. What does the scriptures say about this? Look at the following verse regarding justification. Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. This verse declares that man is ju…

My nephew just asked me : #1 He was wondering if there is a wrong way to find happiness in Christ ? #2 Should we seperate ourselves from people who give a personal testimony and show fruit in their lives but have different scriptural preferences ? I know these sound like loaded questions , But I desire to hear other believers views on these two questions . I believe I answered him scripturally correct . But the questions themselves threw me for a loop ! I just am doubting if I mis understood him . And if I didnt muddy the issues more than help . I basicly told him about scriptural seperation and how satan IS the great deciever and mocks and imitates Gods way…

Forgive me if this isnt the proper forum to post this . I get confused as to which I should use but really covet feedback from other believers . I get a little ....confused ,rattled ? when someone comes to me with a Biblical or spiritual matter or question confronts me with it . Then I give them scripture and verse to a simple straight forward question and they get upset or even angry with the answer. If I am wrong for getting confused or even rattled ,someone PLEASE rebuke me in love and show me scripture to change my heart ! I dont get rattled enough that it would show to the point of causing contention with another . So THATS not the issue. What is trou…

I'm working on a downloaded book: A STUDY OF THE KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE AND ITS INFLUENCE ON LIFE AND LITERATURE BY CLELAND BOYD McAFEE, D.D. May, 1912 I'm eliminating the hard returns in paragraphs and will add hyperlinks within the document from the contents to the appropriate section. I'm over half way with the hard returns. Maybe others here would be interested in the turn of the previous century (I think Presbyterian educator) author. What caught my eye initially was the section, "THE KING JAMES VERSION--ITS INFLUENCE ON ENGLISH AND AMERICAN HISTORY"

I have been wondering how exactly that JacOB's flocks increased so much when Laban had not only kept his flocks separate from JacOB's but had also separated out the speckled, spotted etc. and sent them away by a 3 days journey. Now, I know that what happened was that he was blessed by the Lord, but by human reasoning back then, it would have seemed quite unreasonable to most people that he would have prospered, so that he was truly putting his faith in the Lord. Here is some info. that I thought was interesting on how icelandic sheep inherit color. http://www.icelandicsheep.com/genetics.html Well, at least I thought it was interesting................lol, some people w…

Hi everyone. I am looking for a good KJV Bible for my best friend, Darrell. He is a seeker at this point in his life and I am wanting to find a KJV Bible geared towards seekers. I would prefer one that has notes in it and such that show how Christianity is true and explain key doctrines and such. If no such Bible is available, I would take the next best offering. What do you recommend? :puzzled:

Genesis 1:28 - Replenish or Fill? In Genesis chapter one verse 28 there is a word that is frequently attacked in the King James Holy Bible. God told Adam and Eve: "Be fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH the earth, and subdue it." Bible agnostics (i.e. they don't know which readings are right and they invariably do not believe that ANY Bible in ANY language is the complete, inspired and 100% true words of God) like to criticize the King James Bible for saying "replenish the earth", thinking that this expression implies that there was a previous race of men or even angels on the earth before Adam was created, in spite of the fact that Adam is called "the first man…

Differences in Deuteronomy Not all bible versions teach the same things, even when they translate the same Hebrew texts. The NKJV, along with several other modern versions, are often quite different from the King James Bible. They sometimes differ radically even among themselves. This results in the present day Bible Babel of confusion and apathy towards any authoritative word of God. Most professing Christians today are abysmally ignorant of their bibles and what they teach. They don't spend much time reading any version and are unaware or don't even care about the multitude of conflicting versions. The following examples are just a few of the conflicting …

I am moving this over from another thread. Anyone care to comment on/discuss this? I've not been IFB for very long, but I learned this principle long before we became IFB.

Who/which is the "great nation" made up of Ismael's descendants spoken of in Genesis 17:20, 21:13 and 21:18? Is it possible that this "great nation" has already came and passed?

I have never thought to defend Gods' Word, it isn't like the Word of God has a back up plan or something:0) just curious I do, however, have some questions *regarding the Word, one that comes to mind is the tongues.. I read about them and cannot come to a reasonable conclusion that they were done away with with the Apostles, Scriptures plainly point out that tongues is for the Church, unless there is an Apostolic Church, which would take some convincing me, and that being, the Church still exists today, in an incomplete sense .. tongues is meant to convince the unbeliever, who is searching for evidence of God as Creator! I believe it exists now, and call it gibber…

Had a friend send me this. I do not know this person, but I thought a few of the posts I read were detailed, thorough, and calmly reasoned (something the KJVO debate too often is not). Just thought I would pass it along. http://KJVodebate.wordpress.com/

My apologies if this has been asked before. Why was the book of Enoch omitted from the list of biblical canon if Jude quOTes from it? Jude 14,15 - And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
