Members EKSmith
if I had a addiction it would be OB .Why I would.have this addiction.1. Brother Matt is a man of God.2.The Moderators are all IFB Christians3. Fellowship in the Lord with the brethren.I was once a member of facebook the owner is a atheist.I was once a member of my Christian space the moderators were seers ,prophets, and the like.I was once a member of another Baptist Form, in which fellowship was considered to be nothing more than backbiting, bitterness, debating, and anger. Now considering the fact that the above have viruses ,links to to porn and other ungodly things ,and collect your data selling it ungodly people and one would take thought that someone would have a addiction to OB then so be it,For what Fellowship does the Lord our God have to with such.God bless     Salyan and Miss Daisy
Members Gorship
I really like OB, I do however miss certain people that got removed from the forum. Although sometimes I think stones are quickly thrown for silly disagreements. Overall I think everyone means well. Members John81
I used to spend much more time here but most of those I used to interact with the most no longer post here.I still love OB but there are times when there is way too much contention rather than Christian discussion and support. Members Covenanter
When I am home I check in every hour or so; I may be seen as browsing, but that's just the computer being on, not me obsessed. I take my Kindle when I am away, & keep informed. My replies in a complex discussion may take several hours. That's why I often report ill considered antagonistic comments. I do take the forum seriously - it's useful for directed Bible study on a range of subjects. And of course for sharing prayer concerns. Miss Daisy
Members Genevanpreacher
I check OB before getting ready for work at about 4:30 am.Then after I get home, and after discussing my day with me wife, I check in. When I need to pick one of my sons from work I check while waiting for him to finish. Before bedtime I look in and comment sometimes.Yes, it can be addictive, and I find it difficult when I don't see anything I want to comment on.So, maybe I'm weird. Members 1Timothy115
It lost it's significance to me. I check in rarely. Take the number of posts you've accumulated and multiply it by 3. Divide that by 60 to see how many hours you're wasting on OB when you could be reading Bible, establishing 'face to face' communications with others, witnessing to lost, etc.Example 64,000 x 3 (min)  = 192,000 Min. 192,000 / 60 = 3,200 hours. 3,200 hrs. / 24 = 133 Days of your life. (Real days (8 hours)no one spends 24 hours a day here) = 400 Days of your life. You get the facts. mkrishna
Members John81
The fact is, I'm only online when it's a time when other matters can't be tended to. It's also a fact most of my posts came early on when several of us used to have some very good fellowship here, often later at night and in the winter; none of which I would call a waste of time as we all helped one another to learn and grow and the fellowship was a great blessing. We are not all called to the same time schedule. We are not all called to the same ministry particulars. We are each called to submit to God's specific will for each of our lives, and for most of us it's different than that for others. The Lord has led me in many different directions over the years depending upon where He had me at that point in time. My current callings are different now than they were 12 years ago, 24 years ago, etc.I'm not sure where the idea of it taking 3 minutes to post comes from considering most posts can be read in a matter of seconds and responded to in seconds.Praise God! I'm very thankful for OB which has been and continues to be a blessing in my life and I will continue to participate here as the Lord leads. Members 1Timothy115
Make sure its the Lord and not something else doing the leading. It takes much longer than "read and responded to in seconds" to give a thoughtful reply based and verified in scripture...unless it's what did you eat today...etc.
Moderators Salyan Posted August 18, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 18, 2015 1Timothy115, I appreciate that you have higher priorities in your life than OB. We all should! It kinda rubs me the wrong way, though, to see you actively discouraging people from posting on OB - on OB!! Please stop.
Members Alimantado
I check in every morning and night. I read everything new every day. That's got a lot easier now that OB gets fewer than 10 new posts a day, and often just two or three. Who remembers when the busiest sections--'lounge' and 'news'--would each have a whole page of new topics/posts every day? Forums come and go, but I've never one bounce back after dropping to just a handful of active users, where OB is at now. I think the Holy Spirit has very much been at work here over the years, and I've enjoyed fellowship, teaching and some really edifying stuff, so it'll always have a little place in my heart.
