Five Chaplains Lose Jobs For Praying In Jesus' Name Virginia Governor Tim Kaine Urged to Stop Persecution Contact: Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, 719-360-5132 cell, chaplaingate@yahoo.com or Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine (D-VA), 804-786-2211 (press secretary Gordon Hickey). RICHMOND, Virginia, Sept. 25 / Christian Newswire / -- Virginia Governor Tim Kaine is defending why his administration forced the sudden resignation of five Virginia State Police Chaplains because they prayed publicly in Jesus name. Police Superintendent Col. W. Steven Flaherty single-handedly created then enforced a strict non-sectarian prayer policy at all public gatherings, ce…

Is it just me.... I feel like there is just a little TOO much "breast cancer awareness" marketing out there....everywhere I look, there is pink candy, pink vacuums, pink mints, pink coffee makers, pink chocolate, pink mixers, pink, pink, pink! Do these people really care about cancer or do they care about getting more sales? Plus, I mean, people do suffer and die from other things. I feel the breast cancer thing is somewhat of a feminist thing...you know...its most important because it affects the most important people, kind of thing. Now, don't get me wrong...I like the pink, and I like supporting the breast cancer (after all, it could be ME someday). But I wen…

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,433788,00.html Have to brush up on my math skills so I can dose my younger kids correctly when they can't sleep at night due to a bad cold. LOL. My 3 yo already takes 2-3 adult Benadryl pills a day for his urticaria. Plus two adult sized Claritin pills and two adult sized Pepcid pills per day. Antihistamines are very safe...however man these parents must be SO idiotic to overdose their kids. Sheesh.

October 7, 2008 PJB: Of Generals and Victories By Patrick J. Buchanan ?(O)nce war is forced upon us, there is no other alternative than to apply every available means to bring it to a swift end. ?War?s very object is victory, not prolonged indecision. ?In war there is no substitute for victory.? Familiar to every graduate of West Point, the words are from the farewell address of Gen. MacArthur, to Congress on April 19, 1951, after he was relieved of command in Korea by Harry Truman. Two years later, however, Dwight David Eisenhower, a general as famous as MacArthur, would agree to a truce that restored the status quo ante in Korea. For the first time since t…

THE RISE AND FALL OF FOX NEWS By Cliff Kincaid October 7, 2008 NewsWithViews.com The coverage of the financial crisis has been helpful in demonstrating that many of the ?conservatives? in the media are not so conservative after all. When the going gets tough, they are quick to abandon their principles. Several commentators on the Fox News Channel joined Senators Barack Obama and John McCain and most congressional Democrats in supporting the socialist-style bailout scheme. Exhibit number one is Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard, who declared on ?Special Report with Brit Hume? on Fox News on October 2 that conservatives in the House of Representatives opposing th…

Based upon the debate in another thread I thought it would be best to have a separate thread on this subject. I myself do not see any scriptural basis for participating in a 401K, IRA, ect. I also see it as unscriptural based upon Luke 12:16-21 and James 4:13-17. I do believe that it is necessary to have a modest emergency fund to keep from going into debt. I also believe that it is scriptural to have an emergency fund based upon Proverbs 22:3 and Luke 14:28-30.

Guess who said this, "The church became as gray as the culture," said Alison McFarland, who voted for the split. "Undefined Christianity became the problem, and now the church is indistinguishable from the world." Highlight->Conservative Episcopalians: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,432782,00.html I'm in shock that there are any in that denomination that would take a stand like this!

What special words do you and your family use for different moods? For instance, tonight I was feeling sorta silly and laughing about stupid stuff and making silly comments, and we call that "feeling froggy". And if someone is acting sort of sarcastic, we call that being "snarky".

Fireproof movie review

I went with our pastor's daughter to see Fireproof this afternoon! It was a really good movie!! I think Kirk Cameron did an excellent job of playing the worldly husband who didn't treat his wife right. The actress playing his wife didn't do as great, in my opinion... but she was still pretty good. There was a pretty clear salvation message through the whole movie... but all Scripture quoted was not from the KJV, unfortunately. It was a tear-jerker though... lots of people in the movie theater were crying... lol. (not us though, we were giggling because we were kinda making fun of things in the movie.. )

Do you (or your spouse) decorate year-round with special things or just for certain seasons? I find that I tend to decorate more for Fall and Christmas more than any other time of year. Not sure why... Anyhoo, I have my OB presence all decorated for autumn. Why is it so hard to find autumn animated graphics on the web? :roll

What is the very best piece of advice you can give to first-time parents? I'm really interested to hear what everyone has to say. Samer and I will be first-time parents in January (as long as everything goes okay) and it will be nice to hear what some parents have to say about raising children.

August turned out to be a horrible month for my family and I. In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 10, around 1 a.m., our oldest son tore the screen out of his bedroom window, climbed out on the flat roof, jumped off, got his bike and ran away from home. All of this with no warning and with nothing seeming out of the ordinary. I drove over a hundred miles that Sunday looking for him. The police, volunteer firemen and others were looking as well, along with our pastor sending out an emergency email for prayers and assistance. Our son was found nearly 30 miles away Monday (11th) morning in a Wal-Mart. When we were informed we went to the sherrifs stat…

A commercial for "High School Musical on Ice" just came on (it's the move performed by people on ice skates). So we were thinking of other movies that would be ridiculous...on ice. Jaws...on ice! Die Hard...on ice! Titanic...on ice! Anyone want to offer their own suggestions?

There are some people out there that would challenge this statement. However, I just found John 10:28. It says, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." Whatever doubts one has, if any, this should refute them. Once saved is always saved. Satan, the great deceiver, continues to try to discourage believers new and old. Gods Word says "neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." So lets not be discouraged, but be joyful. Just my two cents...... :2cents .
