I've read her Christian statements and I've heard a couple interviews of her dad talking about their Christianity and neither of them mention anything but superficial Christian comments.

If these interviews were published in a secular magazine (or even a Christian one) or shown on a major network program, isn't it possible the media edited out anything really substantive she might have said about Christianity? I'm not a fan of HM myself, but I would reserve judgment on anything quoted from her in a magazine or words she spoke during a TV interview. We know the mainstream media is notorious for omitting information they think is politically incorrect.

ok, here is a link of her dancing very provocative. Also, please note, that when I said her lyrics were "tame", I was talking about her songs BEFORE this one!! Her songs before this were postive, uplifting type.

one dress worn at the awards show. her voice sounds AWFUL b/c the poor girl was running a 102+ fever that night. Turns out she had strep! So, pay no attention to that.

One thing I read was from a Focus on the Family publication. The interview I heard with her dad talking about his faith some and hers was on GAC and I've heard others interviewed on that channel who gave clear testimonies of their salvation (being born again in Christ) and how they live for Christ so I doubt they would have edited such statements from Billy if he had made them.

I've seen these same statements about both of them elsewhere, on the internet and in another publication but I don't recall their names.

Hold on a minute, I'm gunna take a different direction with this. HM is ok, but how can this forum get mad at things like the ever forbidden "christian rock," but then say that they have no problem with, and even like, Hannah Montana? Isn't that completely contradictory? People on this forum have also discussed disgust with the company Disney and it's affilliates. Is this some huge double-standard or am I missing something?

It's only a few people who have said they don't have a problem...and now some of those same have seen it in a different light.

I am not an HM fan, never have been, never will be. And neither are a greater portion of posters on here. Remember, Samo, not everyone agrees with everyone on everything, so you can't lump the forum into a few.

I wouldn't walk across the street to see her & my advise would be for parents not to let their children watch her on TV.

But, me saying that I may get my head bit off by some, but that too is alright, I'm not an old Baptist preacher that is out to scratch everyones ears. But them some circles I would not be welcomed to.

Okay, call me ignorant (and on this topic I'll thank you for it), but I seem to be a little confused. Is HM a TV actress, a singer, or both? And if she is a singer, does she do Christian Rock? Do they allow that on non-"Christian" TV channels?

I am asking instead of going to the links provided because I want to avoid taking my eyes where they ought not to go when I can avoid it. I saw her poster in Wal-Mart yesterday and don't think I could pick her out in a worldly crown as being a Christian. Her dress and posture seem to conform to the world quite nicely.

She's an actress on a teeny bopper tv show that is also a singer in that show (its like a double life thing, teenager at public school and singer at night or something like that from what I hear), so she's both...she professes Christianity in her private life but does not portray Christianity in her tv show or songs. I'm so glad I have boys...although my son came to me the other day telling me that HM was bad and a girl show (we don't even talk about her here at the house) but that a boy in his class liked her! Second grade! :roll

the show is more geared to the 7-10 crowd, as are HM songs. Miley Cyrus songs are more teen pop.
Most teens I know wouldn't be caught dead singing HM songs, but would like the MC ones. It is a little confusing I know! LOL

I would suppose, that portraying Christianity in her TV show or songs, not near as many would watch her show nor buy her songs.

After all, the TV & song people are not about holding to any principles, but making as much money as possible, if it means sacrificing principles, they will go for it.

The sad thing is, many Christians will do the same thing, sacrifice God's principle to make gain money & in the entertainment they and their children watch or listen to.

6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Prov 22:6 (KJV)

I firmly believe that is a Bible truth, but if father and mother uses double standards, it will not work. But I understand to, many fathers and mothers do not have people discernment & or do not use proper discernment.

Also many parents will say no at first, but the child keeps on trying to change the parents mind, finally they cave in, many times because many of their classmates are and they don't want their children to feel left out.

Perhaps that is why we ought to be a live a more separate life.

I recall years ago there was 5 young Mennonites boys, 16 to 19, who were hanging around with some of the local girls in our town. I saw this several times. I mentioned it to one of the elderly Mennonite men. He questioned me about it and I told him they were setting with them in the fast food hang out at town and even riding around together up and down the streets.

He thanked me for telling him, it was put to a stop. But one of the Mennonite boys left them and got married. The young girl he married never brought him nothing but misery. The last I heard from them she had several affairs, he embezzled money from the city, to keep her in spending money, he was employed by which he had worked his way up to a top job.

Seems in the Bible Israel's trouble came many times for joining together with those who worshiped false gods of which God tried to keep them separate. But they seem to think they knew what was better for them than God. Not paying attention to and doing as God showed them, it always brought them misery in the end.

It happens to us the same very way because we think we know what is better for us and our children than God does.

I don't think this girl is as innocent and pure as some people want us to think she is:

Safe Sex With Hannah Montana

Yes, she refused the condom deal - but the rest of the article gives some examples of her impurity.

She is on her road to fame. Those behind the scenes knows how to portray her to the world to make the most money out of her. Being squeaky clean and innocent is not what brings attention and carries one to the top in popularity and fame in the TV, movies, and singing business.

How could any God fearing parent push their child into such a business?
