Just wanted to get on and let all of you, our OB friends, know that our son Asa Paul was born @ 10:22 p.m. on September 18th. He is 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 19 in. long. His head and chest are both 14 in. in circumference.

Heather had him via C-section because in 14 hours of pretty intense labor she had only progressed to about 1 1/2 cm. That was about where she was when they began the inducement at 6 am yesterday morning.

She did very well, though, and had the Lord allowed, she was on the way to having Asa completely naturally. But God is GOOD and merciful and gracious and he blessed us beyond our wildest imaginations when he chose to give us our son in a different way than we had hoped.

Heather and Asa are both resting now and he's already shown that he has a Speer-sized appetite. :thumb

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the world, little Asa!!! Since I had a c-section 3 weeks ago, I know much what Heather is going through now - it's amazing how much healing a body can do in just 2 or 3 weeks! Be sure to take good care of her now, ok? Please post a picture of your new little guy when you get a chance.

Congratulations to both of you. Yes...Asa Paul is a very strong name. :thumb The two names sound great together! Please let Heather know that I will be keeping all three of you in my thoughts and prayers. Also, make sure to provide that balance in your life as a newborn is very wonderful, but very challenging, too...sometimes. :wink Welcome to the world....ASA PAUL!!! :amen:
