I read nothing in those statements that leads me to believe that Dr. Horton "ran off" yet another pastor. Can you explain how Pastor Jackson was run off, please.

This really is upsetting. Reason being ---announced soon before students return. We loved Paster Shetler and still wish it was an option that he would return. DR. Mullenix I have heard preach and his heart is certainly serving the LORD. This is upsetting news but it is in the LORD"s hands and I trust Him to supply our need. We will be praying and praying!! Please pray the LORD will send who He want's in this position. I know the LORD has the best for His people in the church and in the school. Otherwise I say --come LORD Jesus!! Selfish I know but I would so love His coming these days. Please pray for Pensacola Christan College as we go thru pastoral changes again.

As an alumist of the school and former staff member, I know first hand that Pastor Taylor was run off in the 80's. I was on staff and I have spoken with Dr. Taylor. Pastor Shettler stepped down voluntarily after Dr. Horton put a lot of pressure on him to leave. I have spoke with Pastor Streeter personally and know how and why he left. I see no reason to believe anything other than he has done the same to Dr. Jackson.

Take a look at his comments.

Dr. Horton offered to have a "going away reception" and Dr. Jackson resigned because, "we need to make the transition as quickly and easily as possible". I have pastored and left two churches. At one there was a reception and at the other, I got out as quickly as possible.

Dr. Jackson is a wonderful man and was an excellent pastor. I have been told of the many changes he has made to the Campus church in just the short time he was there.

This is very typical of Dr. Horton. A couple things folks need to know about PCC.
1. They are not local church - The pastor of the Campus church is hired and fired by Dr. Horton, not the congregation. The church is subject to the College.
2. Dr. Horton is officially the Senior Pastor at the Campus Church. You can check the records filed with the State of Florida for non-profit organizations. He is a person who wants to be in full control.
3. Dr. Mullenix was "privately ordained" by Pensacola after Pastor Shettler resigned. Ordinations are not private.

Until Dr. & Mrs. Horton retire, the college will continue to go in the dangerous path they are heading to. They had a very difficult time finding a pastor who would submit himself to the authority of Dr. Horton last time around. It will be no different this time.

We know a man who used to be a pastor who acts that way too and has done some other things. Some pretty despicable. We will die trying to keep that man out of the pulpit. Keep telling it like it is Pastorj. Church members all across this country need to grow a spine and deal with the dictator types. Funny thing is, we were told a while back that this man's daughters are students at Pensacola. If so, then they should feel right at home. I feel sorry for them. CJP56.

Wow! Doesn't seem like they should be old enough to be in college already!!! Time flies...

There be lots of churches around that have a person who thinks they own and run the church, the church my wife grew up in was that way. At this time he has Alzheimer's, and the church seems to be coming back to where it ought to have been years ago.

I read a book once, the writer made a statement something like this, this should not be so, but some churches has to have one or 2 members to die out before it can be what it should be.

My son and best friend have been praying for a Revival all year on campus--along with a few guys that will show up now and again. They liked Pastor Jackson and we all loved Pastor Shetler. I don't know what's happening but I know whatever is going on that the LORD is in control. My son prays that PCC is there for his children. He has been realy confused-as I have-about these changes but instead of doing anything else He prays, prays and prays. I know I can learn a great deal from him and am trying to do just that with knowledge that only the LORD can solve these pastoral problems.

I'm currently a junior at PCC and it was real sad when Pastor Jackson. Left. I do not believe Dr. Horton ran him off however he is a very business like man and does things his way. However that does not make him anyless godly than anyone else. Also PCC Campus Church says in its statement of faith it acts like unto a baptist church, not exactly like a baptist church. Something was not right in why he left, but if we were to know than we would. It is best to continue to serve God and help out our brothers in Christ regardless if we accept their decisions or not.
