Members bkurle Posted July 13, 2006 Members Posted July 13, 2006 God has blessed me with the ability to play the clarinet. Since our church is so small, we don't have anybody who plays the piano very well. I seem to be the only faithful person who is somewhat accomplished on an instument, so I get to play my clarinet while we are singing our hymns. I didn't have any idea as a lost student in a public school that God was preparing me in my band classes to be used of Him in the future. I'm just glad I get to use a talent He has given me to serve Him. Quote
Members Wee D'Arcy's Mum Posted August 28, 2006 Members Posted August 28, 2006 I learned to play the violin in high school in grade 11 and 12. I am 41 right now and its been so long I do not know how to read music anymore. I do have a tin/penny whistle I want to learn and would like to learn the bagpipes one day. Quote
Members joyfulpraise93 Posted September 24, 2006 Members Posted September 24, 2006 I play the piano. I play the harp as well, however only basic 2 hand, no fancy stuff with the harp because I only too lessons for a year, the rental fee was too expensive. I am looking to buy a harp so that I can start learning again! Quote
Members anime4christ Posted September 24, 2006 Members Posted September 24, 2006 Anybody wanna teach me to play piano? :D Quote
Members PreacherE Posted September 25, 2006 Members Posted September 25, 2006 The piano is the only instrument I can play with a level of proficiency. I also have taught it for 3 years. I took one year of lessons in trumpet, but I haven't played it in several years (probably since I no longer own a trumpet). The next instrument I would like to learn is the guitar. Quote
Members Ashlee Posted May 12, 2008 Members Posted May 12, 2008 I play the clarinet, and have been focusing on that for seven years now. I don't play any other instruments but my brother plays piano. If anyone has any online free sheet music sites, please tell me! Quote
Members Marcus2Israel Posted May 12, 2008 Members Posted May 12, 2008 I intend to learn the old Jewish Kinnor. Quote
Members 282Mikado Posted May 12, 2008 Members Posted May 12, 2008 I make a joyful noise on the clarinet. (well...joyful to me :duh ) I would like to learn the hammer dulcimer some day if I can find the time. Quote
Members PreacherBen Posted May 13, 2008 Members Posted May 13, 2008 I play the mountain dulcimer and the harmonica. Here is a picture of my son and I playing one evening out in the yard. I got my dulcimers from Black Mountain Instruments. They have a nice line. Here is a picture of mine from their catalog. Here is a link to their site.http://www.blackmtninstruments.com/ Quote
Members 777 Posted May 13, 2008 Members Posted May 13, 2008 Hey, that dulcimer looks fun - I've always wanted to learn a stringed instrument. I took violin lessons at school years ago, but I don't currently own one to paractice on. :sad Unlike the piano and the organ, which I play daily on - I've always been interested in learning the harp as well, but even if I could afford to rent or buy the thing, I really have no place to store the thing.
