I may not have to eat but many have died of hunger. I may not have a home but many are not alive.

My family just got back from the Northeast vision Summit, and what a great and powerful week. My highlight is always the last night when the kids sings. (Rewind it a little and you'll hear a powerful message from Tony Shirley.)

One of our members has been talking with an old friend of his for a while. She's been reading the Bible and asking him questions. Today he asked my hubs to meet them for lunch and talk with her to answer other questions. Lunch took about an hour and a half, but the upshot is that she got saved! We are working on scheduling a baptism (have to borrow another church's baptistry), so it would be wonderful if she were ready to be baptized. Please pray that she will begin coming to church and will be open to discipleship.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My favorite holiday. The Pastor Emeritus at our church does a weekly podcast and this week it focuses on Thanksgiving (called Gratitude). You can find it in Apple Podcasts here: From My Heart to Yours en Apple Podcasts, or on Player FM here: Gratitude From My Heart To Yours podcast (player.fm). Thankfulness is mentioned at least 71 times in the Bible, and Gratitude 157 times. Yet many of us reserve only one day a year to place a special emphasis on this aspect of our walk. The Bible says: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever …

I was so grateful when a supervisor of mine asked for prayer last week. He knows I’m a Christian and we’ve chatted as I’ve worked about faith. Usually, he’s rather outrageous and makes jokes. He has often quipped about me praying for him and we have a good enough relationship where I can joke back in a lighthearted way. But he’s going through a serious life change and actually asked for me to pray about something for him. I assured him I would. What a beautiful, precious thing that was! We’ve touched on faith a few times, but I am really praying for the opportunity in God’s perfect way and timing to witness to him. Anyhow, I praise God for allowing this first step, and I …

Recently our church computer we used for streaming broke and I took it in to get it repaired. The initial quote was $250 and that was a difficult number to swallow for our budget. But with an answer to prayer I received a call from the computer shop that it would be $100 less than the original quote which was $2 less than the amount I had in cash with me. Praise God!

Bible, King James Version 22 matches. Mark.4 [11] And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: Rom.11 [25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Rom.16 [25] Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of themystery, which was kept secret since the world began, …

What verse from the Bible comes to your mind, when you hear God is good. For me John.15 [13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends

This lady whose face I covered is an Indonesian Muslim, she is here in Taiwan as a caregiver. A while back the church gifted her an Indonesian Bible so she can follow along and understand the passages being preached in the service. She was very happy to have received the Bible in her own language. The lady helping her find the passage being discussed is a member of the church who is also Indonesian and has been instrumental in the church. The pastor has been encouraging the church members to memorize Bible verses, and being able to memorize scripture in your own language is a blessing. It is amazing that this tiny church in Taiwan has had people from all over the world wa…

Hopefully this one don't get Locked, Luke.2 [1] And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. [2] (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) [3] And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. [4] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) [5] To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. [6] And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be deliv…

Since the viral experience I, at times, have found it hard to stay on a positive note. I'm usually a pretty positive person, but, I have noticed of late that I am starting to find myself experiencing an attitude I have found the Psalmist to have.....Why art thou cast down, oh my soul? I hate feeling that way, but I have researched this state of mind in the Bible and have found it to be quite common. Yet, even in the midst of challenges in my life, I find myself going to another of the Psalmists expressions....Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me! Bless his holy name!...At times, even though it's sometimes tough, I find myself still praising the Lord for t…

When this passing world is done When has sunk yon glaring sun When I stand with Christ on high Looking o'er life's history Then Lord shall I fully know Not till then how much I owe When I stand before the throne Dressed in beauty not my own When I see thee as thou are Love thee with unsinning heart Then Lord shall I fully know Not till then how much I owe When the praise of heaven I hear Loud as thunders to the ear Loud as many waters noise Sweets as harps melodious voice Then Lord shall I fully know Not till then how much I owe E'en on earth as through a glass Darkly let thy glory pass Make forgiveness feel so sweet Make…

"For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall." (Isaiah 25.4)

"Be still, and know that I am God". (Psalm 46.10) Luther wrote his hymn 'A mighty fortress is our God', based on Psalm 46. Good to reflect that amidst all the tumultuous things that were going on in his life, an inner peace from God informed his thoughts.

There have been some really pressing issues for us over th past six months, and at times we wanted to reach up and take the reigns from the hands of the Lord God....but...we remembered his words, "Be still and KNOW that I AM God!" He certainly is. He has provided all that we needed, and even some of our wants. He protected us during our two recent trips, one to Indiana and Illinois, and the the trip we had to take this week to Augusta, Ga. All things fell into place without our even lifting a finger. We serve a mighty God and Father! I praise the Lord for his continued goodness to me and his guidance when I need it most.

As I had posted in one of the forums (believe it was the prayer forum), I went to Illinois this past weekend to meet a brother my other siblings never knew we had. He was found through a blood test by 23 and Me when my baby sister from that side of the family took the blood test to find out if she had any issues in her blood. Little did she know that it would lead to us finding out about this sibling. So, it was by the grace of God that we found out. It had been a lifelong dream of Shawn's to find his birth father. He had taken the tests in hopes of finding out who he was. He was disappointed to find out that Dad had passed away in 2000 from colon cancer, but, was greatly…

We must never try to limit God to time, place, or our purpose. God is always bigger than the little 'self' box we live in.

My church has grown during covid because we are the only local church who refused to shutdown. I love my church and the fact we where able to provide to God for our community. It is really a blessing to see families join in, we recently just baptised a man over the age of 70 and had him and his wife join the church. He was not saved prior to covid and already the couple has been a major blessing to our church. I thank the Lord everday for my church. I really pray for our other brothers and sisters who cannot attend churches at this time. It makes it hard for all of us, even us that attend, as we can only empathize with our brothers and sisters across these great rift…

I just wanted to share what an amazing service we had at church today. I serve at a little church in Taitung, Taiwan. Since last year, our church has done an outreach with the Indonesian workers that live in and around our city (caregivers and fishermen). We had a good Christmas service with many attending last year, and this year we made plans to do the same thing, to have our church members be servants to the Indonesians who attend the Christmas service. Word got around and today we had a record-smashing 98 people attend service today! Many of them are Muslim and they all listened well as the gospel was shared as Christ was glorified and preached. While no decisions wer…
