On average, how much time do you spend on the internet each day?

Do you have some sort of method of accountability or scheduling of your internet browsing? Do you wish you had some sort of accountability or scheduling? Do you think you spend too much time online? Has it been a temptation to you to look at bad things online before? Has your misuse of internet time caused problems in your family relations at any time?

Okay, I'm the guilty one, more than 5 hours a day. 3 1/2 hours are usually spent in an online classroom, about five hours just in a classroom tomorrow. Then, I have my online courses that require time online for discussion forums, assignments, grades, and research, etc. Then there's email, OB, and Facebook that I do on leisure time as well as other misc. sites(Apple.com). And the final, but most certainly not least, culprit is Skype. I can spend anywhere from 1 to 3 or more hours on there depending on who's on or how much work-related stuff may need to be talked about, which often leads to friendly chats. :wink However, that time is often combined with certain other online activities, so that cuts down on the overall time some.

all day

and yes, I get my housework done, and spend time with my family. I get off and on often. I kinda multi task. My husband likes to watch sports and I hate sports. It bore me to tears and usually fall asleep during it. So I get on the computer instead.

I check my emails in case for emergency. I am always scared something happened and someone is trying to reach me since I am deaf.... and people have emailed me for emergency, like my son need to be picked up from school.

The computer is on all day. Sometimes I log in and just stay logged in while I do other stuff and check things later like e-mail updates from my husband or posts on on-line baptist etc. I am a multi-tasker, too!

One time Calvin (in Calvin and Hobbes) told his teacher:

I cannot divulge the information at this time. It may compromise my agents in the field.

We typically have four computers on all day. Three of them 24/7. Two are in my room. :wink

Kevin, you sound just like my brother-in-law!! If I ask his wife "Where's Clay?" she'll likely respond, "Where do you think? He's in the basement building his empire or backing up his back-ups!" We both just roll with laughter. Of course, he has more than one computer as well--one is downloading constantly, he is using one, and of course, you MUST have one for back-up just in case one crashes! That way also he doesn't have to share with the wife and kids. LOL We only have 2 computers.....one is a laptop. :Bleh (and my husband is using the other one, as I speak.)

I leave OB on while at work and check in when nothing's happening or at lunch. We don't have internet at home, so the only time I'm on the computer there is when I am doing work for my hubby. I chose 4-5 hours, but I don't spend that whole time on personally...although I could easily!

I chose 3 to 4 hours. I'm off and on all day. We had DSL connection so the computer stays on all the time except at night when I turn it off.

I answered "less than 1 hour" because lately that's all the time I have per day to spend on the internet -- at least in a leisurely capacity. I do use the Internet for work, but I don't count that because I'm "on the clock". :wink When I'm not working it's a different matter -- I could spend hours online. I've been in the same temporary assignment for 2-1/2 months and it's expected to last at least another 2. Praise the Lord for his provision! :smile
