Christians that don’t support the government or the president

I can see more lately, Christians not supporting the government or the president. As a Christian, I support our government our president, and I salute the flag that our country represent. I am a citizen, born here, so I do love my country. I believe we should follow our leaders that have been placed before us, any party, Christians that start disobeying the government, this is a big problem and we’re not putting our faith to practice. As long as the government is not trying to change your faith in Christ, you should listen and follow the laws. If you’re not trying to do this you can be a socialist or communist under the Christian umbrella. The government or president perfect, no one is, but they were placed under authority to lead us. So be careful with those Christians that refuse to follow our governments or support our flag.

I respect the position of the leaders of my country - but I do not necessarily support the leaders themselves or their decisions. Yes, I do strive to obey the laws of my country - except when those laws go against the Bible OR my conscience, such as enforced vaccination. My body is God's, not my government's. (Not saying that is where anyone was going with this thread, but that is what came to mind when I read this thread in light of other discussions on these boards and what is going on around us in the world.)

Hey friend, please consider that human government was intended by God to be ministers of good and not ministers of evil. When your government becomes obvious ministers of evil, you are to ignore them and obey God. You don't get anymore reprobate than the current installed puppets of Satan in the White house. This also goes for all the significant western democracies on earth now.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-13-3/

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-5-29/

The governments of the world were given over to Satan by God's decision at the birth of our Lord 2000 years ago. God has nothing to do with human government during the New Testament time. God has no physical kingdom on earth anymore so why would anyone think He still intervenes in the affairs of nations? He never did before He formed His own nation Israel. He divorced Israel upon their rejection of Him and that ended His national interventions for the last 2000 years. He neither raises nor lowers any leaders now but Satan certainly does.

God's Kingdom here and now is spiritual only and resides in the heart of every believer worldwide. His current Kingdom has no earthly king nor president nor prime minister and will not until His Return. So don't go buying any hype that America is a christian nation, it never truly was. Men alone and without understanding of His Word have made that false assertion.

America like much of the western nations have enjoyed a false freedom of religion based solely on Rome's legal protection. The creation of the Roman government "church" is what legalized "Christianity" with the governments of the world. In the first three-four centuries after our Lord, Christianity was Illegal. For a thousand years after only Roman apostate christianity was actually legalized however. True Biblical believers were hunted and persecuted by Rome and her governments of the world throughout the dark ages.

True Bible Christianity had to go underground since and enjoys no such legal protection because they know it did not come from God. Our Lord Jesus never one time even hinted that His true followers would be protected by the governments of the world. Quite the opposite actually.

Legal protection came from Satan's governments whom have allowed "freedom" of christian religion as long as it maintains Roman apostasies. Which they all do by the way in some form or fashion up to this day. Soon though, the screws of government will tighten upon western nations and their freedom of religion as we have already been witnessing with their tyranny for the last two years. The type of religion allowed then will be by their making and by their decree.

The last governments leading up to the antichrist are all described as beasts by God in Daniel. Culminating with the final beast. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Daniel-7-5/

No doubt the same religious frauds whom teach us to obey the boobtube and reprobate government certainly do not apply this passage to their tax exempt status which is also clearly addressed in this same context of Romans 13.

Food for thought friend.

Wretched, maybe I am misunderstanding you, but it is the New Testament that teaches us to obey our Governments (Romans 13:1-7, 1 Peter 2:13-17; Titus 3:1), and several other passages warn how the wicked despise the authority over them (and obviously, we are not to be like those ungodly rebels. See 2 Peter 2:10-11; Jude 1:8-10). We have Acts 5 and the example in Exodus that teaches us to obey God rather than men when our leaders command us to do something contrary to God's Word (and like I mentioned above, I would also include when they go against our conscience). When they attempt to shut down our churches, and hinder the preaching and teaching of God's Word, we stand against that. When they pass laws to legalize and promote abortion and all kinds of immorality, yes we stand against that too. But nowhere are we given a license to rebel against the government just because it is wicked or filled with people that reject our God.

We agree apart from semantics possibly Jerry. I agree always to obey God above government when contradictory. When government passes laws to allow murder in in the womb, sodomy, transexual deviance, etc. I ignore it rather then accept it as "good" and obey God rather than men. However when government truly are the ministers of good as God intended, I always obey.

Okay, but do you obey all laws that do not go against God's Word, even if your government is wicked? Paul and the other NT writers certainly did not have a "good" government in their day when they penned those commandments by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We, as Christians, are under no obligation to follow the dictates of a president who is trying this best to destroy Christianity. We should follow the things that do not violate conscience of the Word of God. To lay out blanket statements as you have been @E Morales, doesn't make your position correct and everyone elses incorrect. We are under no obligation to follow the whims of Mr. Biden and his poison pin mandates or his shutdown and cloister of churches.

The flag do represents the 50 States that he or she promises to serve, and to protect.

"The stripes represent the original 13 Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well; red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice."

That is what the flag represents.

In America, the law is king. Not any human being. That law is to be rooted in the constitutions of the country and the individual states. When that law is not rooted in said constitutions, that law is moot and actually illegal...read the founders writings and find out just exactly the kind of government God ordained for the US. After the constitutions, WE the PEOPLE are kings. NOT OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS.

So many Americans today would have sided with the British in 1776. I'm thankful our founders didn't.

I honor the king in my country: the US Constitution, my state Constitution, and We the People. I do not support the current POTUS - he is a vile, evil man who should not be in the position he is in. He, in fact, should have been jailed long ago for breaking the laws - dishonoring our king - of this land (as should many other public servants). That doesn't mean I call him names, etc. And as I pray for him, I also pray that God would restrain and remove him...and protect us from Harris becoming POTUS, which will be much worse.

Disobeying laws not rooted in our constitutions is not despising authorities. Despising authorities is what Antifa and BLM are all about. Despising authorities is what our public servants do each and every time they mandate something, pass an unjust law, etc., because they are despising the constitutions of our land. There is no way God would have blessed the founding of this country the way He did if disobeying unjust laws - and overthrowing the human king's rule - were despising authorities.

I do not support the current PEOPLE in our government because it is wicked and ungodly.  I do not support the socialism the current PEOPLE in our government are trying to push through. I do not support the current governor in our state because he has blatantly disregarded our state constitution - the one he swore to uphold. I do not support the current legislature in our state for the same reason. People need to stop using the Bible to justify sitting on their rear ends twiddling their fingers while their country is destroyed.

God gave us the gift of this country, and we are poor stewards indeed when we let it slip through our hands. Shame on us for not knowing the truths about our founding and supporting that.
