There is some stuff here lately that I just shake my head about.

Where do people come up with this stuff?

It certainly ain't from the Bible.....

And some long time weird thinkers have found some support and encouragement....

It's the unscriptural postings that are, or should be, of most concern, especially when their views are doctrinally dangerous.

Well all know everyone has some differing views on certain matters, which gives us opportunity for discussion. However, when some are promoting works based salvation, twisting away entire books of the Bible as non-applicable, denying God's clear plan of salvation from Genesis to Revelation, in effect making God a liar, that should be cause for alarm and action.

You lost me on this one Dave. I have no idea what your post is about. :scratchchin:

I've called it "repost" because I have started this thread before.

With current silliness I though it about time to roll it out again..... ;)

Oh well, I guess that's what I get for being "the new guy on the block."

1Co 11:18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
1Co 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

I don't sweat it, Dave. It lets us know who is real and who is just posturing. A statement of one's doctrine has a way of unzipping the sheep suit.

That's true. Depending upon what they are promoting, it should also serve as a call to separate from them. What a shame for someone to visit here, read several posts presenting serious falsehoods, think this is a corrupted board and leave. Or perhas worse yet, pick up the dangerous false doctrines and spread them.

I agree with that as well. But all false doctrine that I have seen on here has been answered immediately and clearly (despite protests to the contrary), and are there for visitors to see as well. I would like to see less heresy, and I think that would be effected in part it we simply banded together, answered the false teaching and then stopped arguing with them altogether. False teachers feed off of controversy, and scripture says ...

Tit 3:9 ¶ But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Tit 3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
Tit 3:11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

I especially like the "strivings about the law" part in v:9 :D

Agreed.

Unfortunately, we've mostly been unable to simply present the truth and then let the matter drop. This keeps threads going with falsehood continually presented.

We've had a few house cleanings, one rather recently, in order to weed out blatant corruption that had gone too far.

I do fully agree that once the clear, biblical truth has been put forth and they yet reject such in favor of their pet falsehood, it's time to shake the dust off our feet and move on.

Unfortunately many of those false teachers find a way to constantly present their poison in almost any thread they participate in.

To me, that's a major prOBlem and I don't understand why so many threads are allowed to be polluted with their false teaching. It would be bad enough to have one thread full of their continual twisting of Scripture and presentation of false gospels and nonsense, but to have, and allow so many other threads to be taken off topic and derailed is something I don't understand why its allowed to stand.

For a long while now just as soon as I see a certain person start posting in a thread (at least two people) it's clear that thread will soon be ruined.

There must be at least one or more moderators who agree with some of the false doctrines otherwise I would think there would be unity among them to get rid of those who continually spread their ideas and fantasies of what they like to think the Bible says. I'm continually dumbfounded every time supposed heretics are banned, but they aren't. Not the long term ones anyway.

Do we have to have false doctrine promoted just to have discussion? Where is the separation? Not yoking up with those who try and spread their nonsense?

No, there must not. Moding isn't as easy as it looks, and such unkind, untruthful remarks don't make it any easier.
