Paul Craig Roberts and John W. Whitehead of The Rutherford Institute offer their opinions on the character of the citizens of the United States. I am afraid I must concur . . . . what is your opinion? http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/07/23/eroding-character-american-people-paul-craig-roberts/

Rebound in hardback with goatskin leather. Nothing feels like this goatskin, compared to the common 'pig skin' leather used on modern Bibles. My "Holy Bible" label is now removed, material started fading, so I gently removed the label. Can't tell though. My Bible has a few miles on it since these pictures, but still looks like a quality Bible, yet gently read.

I'm going to be hosting a university student for a few weeks in August while she is studying in Canada. This is a first time for me, and I'm trying to figure out how best to be a good host. My visitor is from Liverpool. I was wondering if any of y'all from the UK could give me any hints as to... I don't know... what you would like to experience if you were visiting Western Canada, or any things that would help make a visit seem homey to you (must have English muffins in stock, or something like that). Any ideas?

Dear Online Baptist family, I was wondering if there would be anyone that would be willing to do a book review for me? My book, The Day the Music Died, is available in PDF format free of charge (no kidding). The link is: www.pioneerbaptist.org/booklet/music.pdf I wrote this book about 3 1/2 years ago and have recently reformatted and expanded it. Some of you have already downloaded it from the Music forum. It is available to anyone who would like a copy. Bound printed copies are available for $15.00 each (with free shipping in the United States - no international orders please, sorry). Once you have read the book I would be ver…

Hello. I have a close acquaintance who loves Beth Moore's studies. I have never heard of her. Can anyone who has actually read/heard her studies give me a review. I would like to hear first hand from someone who has actually read her book/books not 2nd hand from what others may have said. Thanks! Bro. Garry

...and why so many think Christians are crazy! Anyone seen the latest "sign from God" making the rounds of the internet? "A rainbow appeared over the Arapahoe County courthouse on Thursday – the day the Aurora theater shooter was found guilty of murder." Across the internet where this is being posted Christians are calling this yet another sign from God. Comments such as God showing His approval of the murder conviction and that sort of thing. Is that really what a rainbow represents, God's approval of something? After a prayer meeting earlier this year in DC there was a rainbow and Christians were at it again proclaiming this a sign of God's approval. Ironically, after t…

My wife and I are contemplating a cross-country road trip next May. One of the states we're talking about driving through on the way back is West Virginia. Is there anyone from there (or has been there)? What is there to do that's kid-friendly (small kids, 1-4 yrs)? What the best route through there from Virginia toward Cincinnati while pulling a travel trailer?

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/07/world/pope-mass-ecuador-quito/index.html Works without Salvation Full Definition of INIQUITY1: gross injustice : wickedness2: a wicked act or thing : sin Read the Gospel, Francis answered on Tuesday, specifically Matthew 25. In that passage, Jesus says that in the Last Days, Christians will be asked whether they fed the hungry, clothed the naked, visited the sick. "This is the heart of the Gospel," the Pope said.

I didn't see the "Hobby" forum listed anymore so I'm posting here. I needed a hydraulic press to install the bearings in the CNC foam cutter project I'm working on. I could have taken them to a machine shop and paid to have them installed but Harbor Freight had the presses on sale and it was an excuse to buy a new toy. Unfortunately, while browsing YouTube to learn how to use the thing, I found folks were using them to make rings out of silver coins and I needed about three more tools to do it. I had to try it. The first attempt was a 1959 silver quarter which I ruined. The second is this 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar. It's a little bulky and I may have curved the surface a…

p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; } God is an amazing God. The amount of detail and care He placed into the creatures He created is just astounding. Each and every one of the billions of insects in the world is perfectly suited for the life it leads. Their coloring, their food of choice, their life cycle, their natural defenses... everything about them is designed perfectly. God put all this detail into the tiniest of creatures most of us don't think twice about. I think dragonflies are amazing, they're my favorite insect. Their metamorphosis from a life perfectly suited for living underwater to a life as a true master of flight in the air is just a miracle. On…

What a week we've had. On Monday night, June 30, (my wife's birthday), I was woken up about midnight to her going in to use the restroom. Half-asleep, I watched as she walked unsteadily, stopped at the door to the hall, and fall face first to the ground. I jumped up and called to her, with no response. I lifted her partway and she said calmly, "I chipped a tooth, and I have to poop." (she actually lost the entire front tooth, which is good because its a clean loss, not broken). I helped her up and tried to get her to the bathroom, but she couldn't walk at all, she was totally limp, so I brought her back to the bed, laid some pads under her and told her to do what she ne…

R.L. Dabney on Northern conservatives in 1870: "And last: the State has committed the crowning outrage and inconsistency of not letting her be a man because God made her a woman! What an outrage this to be committed on so frivolous a pretext! ... Has not the Radical version of the political gospel said, "All men are by nature mechanically equal?" And "man", Mistress Amazona ( as you will know when you acquire the virile right of learning Latin ) here means, not vir, but homo; the species irrespective of sex. It means that a woman has a natural right to do all the particular things that a man does ( if she can ), to sit on juries and shave her beard, to serve in the army a…

Independence Day...but how many Americans even know what that's all about and what it means? Has anyone seen some of the videos of Americans being asked questions regarding Independence Day in America and they have no clue what it's about? So many don't even know who America gained independence from, can't name even one signer of the Declaration of Independence, don't know when this occurred, don't seem to know much of anything other than the 4th of July is called Independence Day and they get to celebrate...but they don't know what they are celebrating! These videos show that it's not just people around here who have no clue about history, their own country, holidays or …

I just watched it and it was an excellent documentary of the foundations of America and what we lack in this nation today. I highly recommend this to Christians; men, women, and children should view it together as families.

Are contemporary songs and music welcome in your church? Most of the Independent Baptist Churches sing using hymnals only? One more question, is it a sin to aloud any type of music into the church? These questions will help me and others, thank you.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/black-college-student-sparks-debate-hanging-confederate-flag-dorm-room-kind-weird-black-article-1.985611 If you heard me speak you would know right away that I'm from the rural Deep South. I'm quite content to be a Southerner and I do all the Southern things. I hunt, farm, drive a pickup truck, love grits, boiled peanuts, turnip greens, corn bread and fried chicken. My 3x great granpappy fought for the Confederacy and my Dad was "camp commander" of the local Sons of Confederate Veterans association. Dad flew the flag regularly in front of his house. I don't. I think the War, by whatever name you know it by, was a long time ago, I …

Have been doing a study of the minor prophets the last week or so, and it strikes me that, though no other nation on earth ever enjoyed the favor of being the Chosen of God, America has been a prime example of what a nation of mostly Believers can accomplish. Which means it is also a prime example of what can happen to a nation that rejects God in favor of the world. Though the prophets were speaking directly to Israel and Judah, their warnings to wicked, godless nations carries through the ages. Knowledge of God decreasing steadily by the generation? Rejection of God to worship the baalim? Attacks on and mockery of the righteous? Decadence and entertainment attained at t…

Delusion: an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder. A delusion is a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary. I will pick out to site the topic: Atheists and delusion. The phrase in the definition sited above. "A delusion is a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary" Superior evidence need I say more. Israel all of the geographic data in the Bible. The existence of all the peoples listed in the Bible. The archaeological evidence for all t…

At the weekend we visited a relative who is planning to train for ministry in his Baptist Church. It is a very liberal church with a woman minister, and is part of the ecumenical movement. He doesn't agree with either, they live in a very small village and cannot afford to travel out of the village and the only alternative is the C of E. which is even worse. They sometimes have to rely on food banks and from time to time I have sent hem a gift to help with their food bill. Not a great amount as we are on a fairly small pension. He does listen to me and I recently warned him that some links he put on his face book page were unscriptural. He thanked me for the advice a…
