Pastor Markle is featured in one section of today's "Friday Church News Notes". David Cloud had very nice words to say about his book. http://www.wayoflife.org/friday_church_news/17_42.php A HAPPY HOME AND A DEVOTED HUSBAND (Friday Church News Notes, October 14, 2016, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - “Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth” (Proverbs 5:18). “Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 9:9…

Besides the feasts of the Lord there are also the feasts that were feasted according to the tradition of the elders in Judea. For example, “the feast of the dedication” (John. 10:22); there is no such feast in the Law of Moses. The Lord said to the Jews: “Did not Moses giue you the Law, and yet none of you keepeth the Law? “ (John.7:19) “For had ye beleeued Moses, ye would haue beleeued me: for he wrote of me”. (John. 5:46) The “Iewes Passeouer”(John.11:55) -- “þe feast of vnleuened bread”(Luke22:1)(15 Nisan) -- “a feast of the Iewes” (John.6:4), “the feast of the dedication” (John 10: 22) and “Easter” (Acts.12:4) are no “the feasts of the Lord” (Lev.23:37) …

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. This is the most often used passage I see for people to try and prove that the rapture…

It was a long seven days of no OB. I tried everything imaginable but could not get on this site. I still have no idea what was wrong. I was able to get with Bro. Matt and he said he would check it out. I have not heard back from him, but perhaps he found why I had been blocked. I just tried my bookmark again this morning, as I usually do and it worked. You can probably tell that I am really happy to be able to get back on the board. I would love to know what happened, but will settle for just being back.

Pastor Markle made a wonderful post providing Scripture that lays out the spiritual diagnosis, the spiritual problem and the spiritual solution to the issues commonly believed to be "mental illnesses." I am wondering if anyone here knows of any literature, videos, sermons &c. that expand on biblical teachings that would refute secular psychology and philosophy. I am aware of plenty of resources that properly expose the quackery of both of these secular "disciplines," but I am unaware of good resources, outside of and in support of Scripture, that give practical biblical guidance of an alternative. When I was a boy, my parents sent me to many different the…

Okay...I was perusing YouTube yesterday and saw a video having to do with the Mandela Effect. It looked interesting, so I clicked on it in order to watch it. Judging by similar videos listed, this is a major thing? Never heard of it. What little I watched was ludicrous, but apparently, this supposed "Mandela Effect" is being used as some type of "proof" against the King James Bible? Are people so opposed to the KJV, that they will grasp even the most nonsensical, pie-in-the-sky, fruit loop theory in order to hopefully...somehow...someway...discount the truth? I guess so. What a messed up world we live in...and the poor gullible people who buy i…

Scripture says that the Jews called Feast of Unleavened Bread as the Passover (Now þe feast of vnleuened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passeouer(Luk.22:1)(KJV). They feasted the Passover ”according to the tradition of the Elders”(Mark.7:5), on Nisan 15. Scripture calls such Passover as “the Jewes Passeouer”(John.11:55). The Lords Passeouer was feasted in “the fourteenth day”( Lev.23:5) what do you think about it?

What's with David Cloud these days? I used to really like him, but now I feel like he is causing more division than anything else. The passage in the Bible that says "I am of Paul, I am of Cephus, I am of Christ" seems like what he is doing. He is going around saying bad things about anyone who doesn't fit into the perfect definition of the perfect IFB church. His latest attack was on Ken Ham. Now, Ken Ham does not have all our same convictions. He doesn't claim to. I don't even think he claims to be Independent Baptist. But what he does do is travel the country encouraging people to trust Christ as Savior, and encouraging this new generation of young people t…

Doug Mesner, who goes by the professional name Lucien Greaves, is co-founder and spokesman for the Satanic Temple, a group of political activists who are seeking to establish After School Satan Clubs as a counterpart to fundamentalist Christian Good News Clubs, which they see as an attempt to infiltrate public education and erode the constitutional separation of church and state. (Josh Reynolds/For The Washington Post) SALEM, Mass. —It’s a hot summer night, and leaders of the Satanic Temple have gathered in the crimson-walled living room of a Victorian manse in this city renowned for its witch trials in the 17th century. They’re watching a sepia-toned video, in whic…

The top pastor of Southwest Church in Indian Wells was asked to resign because he refused to condemn homosexuality, he explained in his resignation letter. A few months ago, Pastor Gerald Sharon—who has been lead pastor of Southwest since 2013 and previously served at Saddleback Church in Orange County—asked the church hierarchy to look into "the extent to which a homosexual individual could be involved in the life of Southwest Church." While the church leadership initially seemed engaged in the discussions, they recently sent Sharon a letter in which they unanimously affirmed Southwest's current position on homosexuality. Southwest's LGBT policy is writte…

We are ok, the fire has passed by us here in Hamburg, California. Fortunately the river and high ridge was between us and the fire. Many people in Horse creek, just a few miles away have lost homes. This fire was very fast moving, it grew from a couple of hundred acres on Sunday, to over 5,000 acres on Monday. https://m.facebook.com/hashtag/gapfire

Our church has a young lady that has been newly saved who is in need of a sound Independent Baptist Church. She was saved in our church and has been attending faithfully, but because of her husband's work, is needing to relocate to Wisconsin. I told her I would ask on the forums and see if anyone might know of a sound church in the area she is moving to. She said her location will be Hanover, WI. She also said it is near Janesville, WI. I don't personally know anyone who lives near there to get a recommendation from. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hypocrites! Have you ever had someone say to you that they won't go to church because it is full of Hypocrites? Over the years I have had several people say something like that to me. My usual response is something like: "You're right, churches are full of hypocrites, but so is your work and you still go there!" (Note: substitute "Sport club", "knitting club" etc for work as appropriate.) Funny how they rarely have any sort of good response to that........ But I have also found that it rarely convinces them to come along....

If a fellow Christian posted this picture, what would you think? Old-Pilgrim, I deleted your photo because I don't think it's appropriate for this board. I guess that tells you what I would think if a fellow Christian posted this picture.

If anyone is a member of Amazon Prime, this documentary is now available to watch for free. It was a little slow in segment one (I think there are four segments), but it was really interesting overall. If anyone isn't familiar with The Georgia Guidestones, just do an internet search on it. Basically, it's a huge granite monument with 10 "guides" written in various languages. The 10 guides are suggested needs for making the world better. The first one is a call for population control. Secular humanism and tree-hugging combined with a little Masonry and Rosicrucianism. They reveal (with pretty strong evidence) who the man was that had it erected. He swore everyon…
