HELP! I need some tips on how best to switch my 2 1/2 yr old to a big boy bed. We switched him last night and it was like WW3. He only stayed in there and slept when we were in the bed with him. Any tips. I have been reading "professionals" views on this subject and they all said something different. Please help, and keep us and him in prayer.

"I would have lost my soul if I had not stood up for Barrac Obama...I know that." -Oprah Should this be an eye-opener for America - as if there hasn't been enough of them already? Is BO her savior? How much more foolish does she have to become for America to see who she is and what is happening?

Does Anyone Finish The Race Anymore? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Pastor Matt Trewhella -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Covenant News ~ January 07, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ed Dobson, pastor emeritus of the mega-Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is the latest older Christian man I have watched apostatize. This past weekend, on January 4th, 2009, Dobson, with beaming face, proudly told the world on ABC's Good Morning America that he voted for Barack Obama. You can see the whole sorry af…

PRAISE FOR LEE AND JACKSON By Chuck Baldwin January 16, 2009 NewsWithViews.com January is often referred to as "Generals Month" since no less than four famous Confederate Generals claimed January as their birth month: James Longstreet (Jan. 8, 1821), Robert E. Lee (Jan. 19, 1807), Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson (Jan. 21, 1824), and George Pickett (Jan. 28, 1825). Two of these men, Lee and Jackson, are particularly noteworthy. Without question, Robert E. Lee and "Stonewall" Jackson were two of the greatest military leaders of all time. Even more, many military historians regard the Lee and Jackson tandem as perhaps the greatest battlefield duo in the history…

The road crews didn't start on the main road until 9:45. I was still able to drive it but, the two approaches to my church are still covered. I can't get through to attend this morning. Maybe I can get to church tonight. Some of you are familiar with this area of S.E. Ohio and the location of Decatur Chapel. For the rest, there are hills and hollows straight up and down. A 4WD shouldn't attempt it and my 2WD tried and failed. The best I could do was pray for those who could make it and the message. So, I'm listening to Warren on BBN. Anyone know of IFB streaming sites for Sunday services?

Few years ago, my aunt gave us a collection of books called "The Bible Story" by Arthur S. Maxwell. I haven't read all of it yet, but some of it seem pretty decent so far. What is your opinion of it and should I get rid of them?

I'm still developing my new site, http://Somebody.NeedsYourPrayers.com. and I'm trying to think of appropriate categories for prayer requests. So far I have... salvation health financial safety mental/emotional revival guidance/wisdom unspoken ...These are what the prayers are for, not who they are for. Does anyone have any more suggestions.

Do you have any childhood memories that seem really scary or almost impossible now as you think back on them? And maybe you wonder if they were just dreams or something? For instance, I have a fuzzy memory of me and I think maybe a friend too(?) going with a strange man that showed up in our neighborhood and befriended us one day, and he took us in a truck (I think I remember it being a big truck like a dump truck) to a store and bought us some candy. I remember coming home and telling my dad about it and sitting in my room while he talked to me about it, and the candy the guy bought me was sitting on a desk in my room - it was a big piece of gum in the shape of a ham…

I think most of you could tell by my display name that I'm attracted to some things Japanese. I like anime style of drawing (and Japanese art in general), though a lot of actual anime cartoons are a little too mystic for my taste. I also like Japanese food, some ancient-style Japanese music, and various other things. The thing that bothers me though is that Japanese culture is very deeply tied to Shinto, it's almost inseperable. And many of the things that I like in Japansese culture either have something from Shinto in them or came from Shinto even though they're not strictly tied to Shinto anymore. Is it possible to like things Japanese but separate them from Shinto…

Returning Biblical Education to the Local Church -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By David Alan Black -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Covenant News ~ January 10, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has always intrigued me that the early Christians made such unstoppable progress despite their lack of a professionally-trained clergy. Perhaps there are some lessons we can learn from them today. I think, for example, of a church in Hawaii that I was a part of many years ago. It offered classes designed for ?laype…

No debate is more riddled with terms that don't make sense and stereotypes then that of predestination. I can't remember where most people are, so I am going to try to place what I think are the options (leaving off the extremist positions on either end), and see how the board fits: 2. Implored Faith. God's grace is available to all. Because people cannot want God on their own, God works in lives to try to get people to accept this grace. There are no prerequisites to gaining this grace, and the choice is up to the individual, but no one will seek it without help from God. 3. Foreknowledge Election. God's grace, while powerful enough to save all, will only save t…

America is being judged America is being judged. I feel it deep down in my bones. I see it all around me. There is a denial of sin. There is a lack of discernment about the eternal and unchanging laws of God. There is a failure in the church to be the salt and the light in a culture spiraling into the moral abyss. Let me caution my countrymen that this path leads only to destruction. I urge you to take some time to study Romans 1. We're told beginning in verse 18 what brings on the wrath of God. It applies equally to individuals and nations. This chapter tells us we are without excuse ? believers and non-believers alike. Every man and woman k…

When the reporter asked the question about moral decline of America in the eyes of the world... I was immediately praying, Lord, give him the courage and boldness to answer this question appropriately. Wow! Did he ever lay into that guy...Amen!
