Ok, I've Googled this quite a bit and can't seem to come up with any substantial results. My daughter plays the trumpet and wants to play at the church. However, I am having a real difficult time finding good Christian sheet music for the trumpet. I can find a boat load for the piano and guitar, but not for trumpet. Does anyone know of something for trumpets? I was going to have her work from the hymnal, but didn't know if there was anything else out there. Thanks.

Ever since I decided to change the main focus of my ministry from the likes of KKK, I have been preaching to Catholics near one of their local dens. We have sent a spy into their congregation to see what members of different ages do after their massesand what have you. After that, we mapped them out by ages and are ministering to them at their places of after-church gatherings, such as local restaurants. My ministry has been particularly successful with Chick tracts. The following two work exceptionally well on the 35-50 years old crowd: http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/1057/1057_01.asp http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0040/0040_01.asp We are still tryi…

The voice of God takes many forms in the Bible. As we often search our hearts to know the will of God for us in any certain matter, it is always helpful to realize that God’s voice in us these days is a “still, small voice.” I cannot recall the times that I thought the Lord was telling me to do something, or to go somewhere, but was unsure and apprehensive about OBeying. I wanted to do right, but I wanted it to be the right way too. I have learned through the years, that that booming “voice”, that impulsive urge that seems so strong is usually not the voice I want to hear! I now look to and heed the still small voice that tugs at my heart and will not soon leave me, …

I have been reading two wonderful books, and wanted to share them with everyone. The first is The Quest for Meekness and Quietness of Spirit by Matthew Henry (the author of the Exposition of the Old and New Testaments). This is a wonderful little book of less than 200 pages, and I recommend it most highly. It offers excellent advice about the importance of developing patience, kindness and a comely grace in our dealings with those around us. The second book I have been reading lately is Female Piety by Puritan author John Angell James. There are so many wonderful nuggets of truth in this book. I cannot recommend it highly enough to any woman who truly, from the …

I've noticed that in various topics the subject of Communion often comes up and it seems that the practices vary slightly among different churches (even among those of the same denomination). I thought it would be interesting to discuss how everyone's church OBserves Communion. I'm always curious to know and I think others might be too since we tend to OBserve with our own churches and may take for granted that everyone does it the same way (or maybe that's just me ). So maybe people could discuss the following: - How often? - Who is invited to participate? - If participation is limited, how is that monitored (if at all)? - How do you receive the elements - (g…

I hope it is ok to post this here, didn't know where to put it exactly! I know that this is really of little practical consequence, but it is interesting to me, and maybe to someone else. Studies in JOB JOB seems to have lived after the flood instead of before, as many have thought. This questions the theory that the Book of JOB pre-dates Genesis. We form a conclusion based on the following evidence: “Almighty” (JOB 5:17); this is the first reference in JOB, but used throughout the Book. The first mention in the Bible is in Gen. 17:1. This name was claimed by God Himself, and referred, of course, to Himself. Then there is the mention of a “lesser flood…

The following news item, is from our local radio station's website, http://www.chattooga1180.com. I ain't makin' this up! It's really happenin'! "EMA Director Henderson Urges Public to use 911" "Written by Jimmy Holbrook Sep 01, 2010 at 05:42 AM On Tuesday Chattooga County 911 experienced some prOBlems with the phone lines. The reason for the prOBlem was that the phone lines were not rolling over. Windstream was notified and the prOBlem was resolved quickly. But, Chattooga County EMA Director Eddie Henderson told AM 1180 that there is another situation that the public can help with: "We have been experiencing what could become a prOBlem at the E911 Center.…

Investments We have talked much about being right with God, and wise with our money. We discussed prosperity, and what it entails, (though very briefly), and how it is achieved, and by whom it is OBtained, but to carry things a little further, let me warn my Christian friends about investments. Investing in even the stock market is a gamble at the least. What is the difference in that or playing “bingo”? Or what difference is it with the state lottery? The chances are better perhaps, with “wise” investments, but the gamble is the same! Perhaps we dwell too much on the dollar! I know of good, godly men who try to do things right, and be honest in their busine…

Feeling foot-loose and frisky, a feather-brained fellow forced his fond father to fork over the farthings, and flew to foreign fields, and fettered his fortune feasting fabulously with faithless friends. Fleeced by his fellows in folly, and facing famine he found himself a feed flinger in a filthy farmyard. Fairly famishing, he fain would have filled his frame with foraged food from fodder fragments. “Fooey, my father’s flunkies fare far finer,” the frazzled fugitive forlornly fumed, frankly facing the facts. Frustrated by failure, and filled with foreboding, he fled forthwith to find his family. Falling at his father’s feet, he forlornly fumbled, “Father, I’ve …

My kids have asked what I'd like for my 50th birthday in a few months. I've been looking for over 2 years at various "Prie Dieu" or prayer kneelers. I'd love to have one for my office and specifically one similar to the one in this link: http://www.ecrater.com/p/2013081/1930s-mahogany-prayer-chair-with-kneeling I don't want them to spend a bunch of money, but perhaps the three of them can get together to modify a chair something like the chair in the picture. It would be very practical as a seat in my office, and then also as a prayer kneeler. Extra padding for my hurting knees would be good as well. So, you must think I'm crazy!

Chinese Food 1 2 3 4 5

This may or may not be a new topic but I like Americanized Chinese food if you will. Its cheap and filling. Maybe not heathy but sure does beat some of the other fast food. Okay now would you quit ordering food from there if you happened to pick up rather than to have it delivered and saw a Budda statue, and what would appear to be a emerald or jade Hindu statue or vise veresa sitting on their cash out counter. The concern is would it be right to eat the food without knowing weather or not it had been offered to their religion? I don't know if it has or has'nt, but I do know that God forbids people eating food that has been offered to other false gods. Feedback Please...…

Heavy Burdens Mt. 11:28-30) Sometimes our burdens grow so heavy that we cannot hear the sound reasoning of our fellow man. The weight is unbearable, and it captures all our attention, and all our mind so that we are beyond talking, and in a quandary as to what to do; counseling is futile. This is a dangerous place to reside; only the Lord can help us in His silent blessings--the blessings of the heart. Only He can lift us up, and set our feet upon a rock, and excite us once again for His glory. It seems that “little” things grow--they get much bigger; we assume we can handle them because they are so small at first, but they fester, and enlarge themselves, and gat…

I have just heard about a church that allows the staff to tithe BEFORE they get paid! That seems to be dishonest to me. Why don't we learn to trust God instead of looking for loopholes in the law to save money? When it comes to paying taxes, it often separates the "men from the boys". Don't we know that God is the God pf prosperity too? (Psa. 1:1-3~Joshua 1:7, 8~2 Chron. 26:5 Concerning Uzziah~ Joseph in Egypt, Daniel in Babylon, etc.) I do not know what is meant by a "prosperity Gospel", but I have an idea it is a term that criticizes those who believe that God will prosper us, if we will do right. I don't know how often we are all tempted to take a shortcut, or to…

The following article, is taken from our local radio stations website, http://www.chattooga1180.com. Personally, I've never heard of such, but, all due respect, this is NWGA! "Written by Jimmy Holbrook Aug 24, 2010 at 05:43 AM Trion Mayor Johnny Ingle told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that the town will be auctioning off seven air conditioners at the regular Trion Town Council meeting coming up this Thursday, August 26. The air conditioners are window units; each one is 5200 BTU. The auction will follow the Trion Town Council's regular work session. The mayor said that if anyone has any questions they can contact the Town of Trion office, Monday through Fri…

13-Year-Old Commits to USC for Football What you think about this? Until recently I had no idea that there were so many kids out there that were preparing for a football career in pro football, or maybe its father pushing their young son living their life through their son. I think this is getting ridiculous to many people out there whose God is football. wow, if only some of us would put into our spiritual walk as much as many worldly people are putting into their goals in this world.

. Hello; Somebody once told me that the shelf-life of a Hostess Twinkie is seven years. (chuckle) I don't know if that's true or not but it sounds plausible. I often receive puzzled looks when I assert that Adam died of malnutrition; but when you think about it; that's exactly what happened. In the locale where he and his wife first resided was a special tree that God said if humans were to include in their diets, they would never die; at least not of natural causes. †. Gen 3:22-23 . . And the Lord God said: Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live foreve…

Gender 1 2

For some reason, because of my "emotionalism",(their word--not mine) I have been mistaken for a woman, and so I discovered that my gender is not speciifed in my profile. Just so everyone knows; on any forum I have ever joined, I have never intentionally tried to hide my gender, nor am I ashamed of it. So if someone would kindly show me how, I will get that taken care of right now. And anyway; what is feminine about the screen name "Heartstrings"?

Bro Matt, I've noticed that when refreshing a thread, etc. on Online Baptist it shows several URLs that OB is either pulling information from or sending information to. One of them is Google.com. What information is being pulled and sent? Is this Google Analytics? Is this showing number of hits? Are you tracking URLs that people are coming from and going to when interacting with the OB site?
