State Department won't say Jerusalem is in Israel Read more: http://times247.com/articles/state-department-won-t-say-jerusalem-is-in-israel#ixzz1qPUf5ovS An official State Department communication has labeled Jerusalem and Israel as separate entities. In an official press release yesterday, the State Department announced that “Acting Under Secretary Kathleen Stephens Travels to Algeria, Qatar, Jordan, Jerusalem, and Israel.” Keeping up with its longstanding policy, the State Department refuses to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s official capital — despite a U.S. law stating otherwise. Obama faced criticism on the issue last year, when it was revealed that the Whit…

One day I decided to go to McDonald's for my half hour lunch break, while working at a lumber yard. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a small hamburger and small fries at the drive thru. I wasn't paying any attention to the bag as I received it, and took it and placed it on the passenger's seat, then headed back to the lumber yard. When I had arrived at the parking lot, that's when I noticed the bag; it was extra large and full to the brim. When I look into the bag, there was all kinds of stuff, from Big Macs to quarter pounders, large fries to hot apple pies, fish sandwiches to chicken nuggets, and a bunch of napkins, and yes, my small fries and hamburger was there too!…

Have any of you ever applied for a job & been asked for your password to any website that you might have? Has your employer asked you for your password to your personnel website? There’s been several articles like this one lately, just wonder if anyone here had had that happen

I heard an ad on the radio this morning which said Christians must vote and the reason is that if Christians don't vote that means those who don't know God will get elected to office. If Christians vote along the same lines as non-Christians, just how does that help put Godly leaders in place? The ad stated that leaders who know God are needed or the country will continue to go wrong. At the same time, many Christian "leaders" have given their support to candidates that do not know God. How are Christians exerting Godly influence into the election if they vote for candidates that don't know God and most often support the same candidates non-Christians support? The a…

Hello, Sorry I am unfamiliar with these forums as I only joined yesterday and dont know where else to post this. I just wanted to share something from the Sunday service of the Sunday just gone. I actually attend two different baptist churches because I travel occasionally between where I currently live and where I grew up (where my parents live). This weekend I was back at my parents so I attended the one back here. This church however does not have a permanent Minister at the moment so the Church has Ministers come in to deliver Sermons. I wanted to share this weeks service because for the first time since I was saved a month ago, the Minister's choice of Sermon reall…

Hello everyone, I have never been on this forum and all this may sound strange but my wife's sister has joined some Christian dating sites and my wife asked me to help her and I looked on some of the sites that she was a member of and I was shocked at how few Bible Believing Christian Guys are on these sites like eharmony, etc, how many guys drink socially, and how expensive these sites are. So the other day I was thinking how I could help her and I thought of searching for an Independent Baptist forum and I found this site. I want to know does anyone know of any good Christian dating sites that have Bible Believing Guys on them. OR ( if from here down is not allowe…

I just saw on Facebook where another "good church girl" who went off to a worldly college has joined with the world. She comes from a "good Christian family", attended church regularly until graduating high school and heading off to a worldly college. Now she has a Facebook page, like so many others similar to her, featuring a lot of pictures of her in very immodest outfits, dressed in a slutty outfit with KISS makeup on, wearing short-shorts, extremely low cut tops, etc. Nothing Christian on her page, like there was occasionally before she went to college. It's such a shame to see this happen yet again, and knowing many more will follow this same bad path. One ha…

I just found out one of our nephews is now into 'Bath Salts.' I read a bit about this on the net & I find that 'Bath Salts' are not what I thought they were. That they skirt the law by selling them as 'Bath Salts,' & marked not for human consumption. Anyone else had any experience of having a friend or relative use this stuff. It seems those that are prone to use drugs will use almost anything & have no fear of the averse effect it may have on them. The one using this is one of my wife's youngest nephews. I met him in 68 when Linda & I got married & he was probably about 7 or 8. He was always wanting me to play with him in those younger days & …

A coach company has inaugurated a coach tour around Britain's most hated road, the M25, London orbital motorway. One lady passenger said "I always wanted to go on a round the world tour, but I didn't manage it, so I came on the round the M25 tour."

There is not a man in the country who can’t make a living for himself and family, but he can’t make a living for them and his government, too, the way his government is living. What the government has got to do is live as cheap at the people do. Will Rogers If and when America civilization collapses, historians of a future date can look back and sneer, “They entertained themselves to death.” Jim Frankel When someone asked William Booth his great secret to happiness, he replied, “I never say no to the Lord.” Both cheerfulness and grumbling are contagious. Its up to you what kind of an epidemic you start. Small boys are washable, but most shrink from it.J Once t…

From another thread: There was an article a few years ago, I think it was called, Believe it or not you can read this. It said as long as the first and last letter in each word was correct, it didn't matter of the order of the other letters, you could read it.

Good afternoon, I was told that this is the correct part of the Forum to ask questions so here it goes: I was going through the Forum and I noticed that the Forum for Men is in the part for Independent Fundamental Baptist and the Forum for "Ladies" is in Christian Living. Is there a particular reason for this? Since we are talking about men and women and I am trying to learn about Baptists I'd also like to ask if Independent Fundamental Baptists consider it "ok" or "good" for a woman to become a pastor. Even if it is a pastor for the young people in a big community with 2 pastors? (my girlfriend is a baptist that is currently doing her masters in Theology and is consi…

Hi everyone, So I was reading the link that someone shared with me about Baptists (http://baptistpillar.com/topical_index.html) and have a few questions: 1. Alcohool - What is wrong with alcohool? Jesus Himself drank wine. 2. KJV only - What is the basis to believe that only one translation possesses the Truth? 3. Crucifixion on a wednesday - I don't understand how this can be coherent with Scripture. For now just these... As I already have other topics where I am learning about other things.

After downloading and reading through the Baptist Handbook written by M.L. Moser, Jr, I have come to the conclusion that the book isn't worth the time Moser took to write it, nor worth the paper it was printed on. In it, false teachings abound. It is obvious when reading this book that Moser thinks his particular denomination is the only true Church. (Baptist Briders) Moser gives a list of several different denominations, including Freewill Baptists and Primitive Baptists. He goes on to tell the reader that this list of Churches are not of the True Church, the body of Christ. His explanation? Those Churches did not start in the first Century A.D, they did not sta…

Hi. With no disrespect to the people involved in the army, I was a little surprised to see an announcement about Veterans in the Forum. Can somebody explain to me what is the Scriptural evidence to support militarization? If this is the wrong place to ask the question I apologize. Thank you One in Christ, D

I'm just curious about this one. The number one argument against Ron Paul is that he isn't "electable." So I'm wondering, if Ron Paul won the GOP nomination, what would you do in November? I think Republicans would vote for my dog if she had an R in front of her name because they're so terrified of Obama (rightfully so). I think that anyone that wins the approval of the GOP instantly becomes eleactable in our current political climate. So that leaves the independents, what would they do? I think they'd vote for Paul as well, because many of his policies and his voting record appeal to indies: 1. Get rid of the income tax or lower it. 2. Bring the troops home.…

Although I am not a particular fan of President Lincoln (because of the unnecessary war between the states . . . . my feelings anyway), I believe the words from a speech he gave to apply as much today as they did in his day. The lawless mob that rules our nation today, from both Washington and Wall Street, is much more powerful than any our nation has ever faced in the past. . The following six paragraphs are from Abraham Lincoln in his Lyceum Address, January 27 1838 “At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourse…
