  1. Nah 1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

  2. I was banned from a ruckmanite site because I told them that they were worshiping Peter Ruckman and holding his writings higher than the Bible
  3. Greetings, I'm in Kentucky about 30 miles from Williamson, just south of Pikeville.
  4. Php 2:1)If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, (Php 2:2)Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. (Php 2:3)Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Do we really esteem others better than ourselves?
  5. Not to argue the point but this appeared in the Philadelphia Baptist Association minutes of 1771: 5. To. a query from Dividing Creek, relative to washing the saints' feet, the following reply was made This query being founded on John 13:1-17, can no otherwise be determined than by fixing the genuine sense of that Scripture, which to do is earnestly recommended.
  6. I don't mean to bring up an old topic, but I have read with interest the varying views among the brothers and sisters in the IFB about footwashing. As an Old Regular Baptist we practice this at the same time as communion. We view the word ought as used in John 13:14 as a very strong word that we should continue the practice of footwashing and we are truly happy when we do this. Yes I believe that it is a symbol of humility and service. You can read about how we conduct the communion and footwashing service at my webpage.
  7. I first posted this in the introduce youself forum: God called me many times but, when I was 23 years old God called to me like never before and a fear set up in me that I can't describe. He showed me that that I could hear but was still deaf, I could see but still blind and I could walk but was still crippled and He showed me that I was a dead man. When God showed me all of these things, I had to repent with a Godly sorrow; I had to travel through a trail of tears, begging to be delivered from the sinful state I was in. I worked myself out of works. God let me realize that my works were as filthy rags in His sight. When I came to the end of my strength, God worked a work in me that no mortal man could work. He anointed my eyes so that I could see his work. He touched my ears so that I could hear His marvelous word. He touched my lameness and let me walk in his wondrous light. But most of all he resurrected me to a lively Hope in him. Praise be to God for his loving Grace that made me whole and set me free through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I thank him daily for the gift of life that he gave me through his beautiful Son.
  8. (Heb 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  9. Well brothers them that are not of Christ will do just about anything: 1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
  10. A hearty Amen! I am not IFB but I have many of the same beliefs as you. There is a reason the bible says: We are to be different from the world!!!
  11. I have one........I call it an electronic leash.
  12. Pro 11:18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

  13. (Jas 1:12) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

  14. I'm thankful that God gave me the stength to be out and about His business this morning, Declaring his word.
