We don't have any pets right now, but I think one of the recalled brands was one that we used when we had our cat (a longgggg time ago)...we always used Nutro (she was picky and didn't like anything else).

I was taking care of my friends dog the week end before last when Purina announced they were recalling the Alpo Prime Cuts w/ Gravy. Guess what my friend had given me to feed the dog? Yep, Alpo Prime Cuts w/ Gravy. I checked their website, though, and it was only certaing lots from one plant that were being recalled. I checked the lot # on the cans and they were okay. Whew! I let my friend know about it, though, so she could watch for those #'s when she buys more.

We have a couple of cats that have adopted us that we feed but the kind of food we feed them wasn't one of the recalled ones. One of the cats that adopted us will be having kittens soon.

My dogs and cats do not eat canned food, however, I did check Brutus's treats made by Sunshine Mills, but they were not on the list. I have cut back on their treats, and I hate to say it, but I have been giving them tables scraps, at least I know they are safe :bolt:

We only feed our cats dry Iams (the indoor formula made for cats 7+ years old). Our cats were not affected in the slightest by the recall. They're as healthy as ever, praise the Lord. :thumb
