That momma deer should take a lesson from this momma rabbit. She doesn't feed her babies in the middle of traffic, nay she simply buries them underground and feeds them modestly. ;)

We have rabbits on our farm as well, which we raise in an open community pen. The dens are wood boxes covered in cement for protection and comfort. The mother buns will take some wool that we provide and stuff it on a box, have her babies and cover the whole with dirt. Each day she goes in and feeds the babies, then covers the hole again. One day after about 2-3 weeks we will see tiny babies popping their heads out, and running to join the adults at the hay pile to eat. It's always exciting to see the new babies. never gets old. We have over 100 now, I think
