No doubt it can be difficult to find modest clothing for a woman to wear in most stores today. Unfortunately, many women won't bother looking elsewhere or are willing to use this as an excuse to dress immodest. I commend all the women out there who are willing to do what's necessary to have modest clothing to wear.

Yes I agree and I am in that route right now looking for modest dresses and skirts again since we chanced back to IFB churches, I have mostly summer dresses that is why when I go to church i put pants under the dress and skirts to keep me warm, I am thinking of going to good will to see if I can find anything, my mom found a few dresses and skirts for me over the last several years there and they are kept nicely but, I need more of the winter type ones. My sister in law used to make me modest dresses and skirts but that was when we lived right near her now we are out an hour or so away.

Mr. Oā€™Reilly defends the lesbian woman.

"And says, whatā€™s the difference between McCarthy era communist blacklist in the 50s and the Million Moms saying, ā€œHey, JCPenney and all you other stores, donā€™t you hire any gay people, donā€™t you dareā€™ What is the difference?ā€ Oā€™Reilly said."

O'Reilly put forth a false premise or logical fallacy. As an unbeliever, his a proud, knowing-nothing, fool. After faithfully watching his show since the late 1990s, he's been fired for almost 2 years now. Praise God for Sanctification!

O'Reilly is also a typical American Catholic who loves to boast about their "faith" and their "church" yet they reject whatever teachings of their "church" they don't personally want to agree with.

When was O'Reilly fired, he is on Fox News 5 nights per week host of the O'Reilly factor and suppose to be the most watch show.

No doubt he is a very conceited man that thinks he knows it all and is always right, I suppose that goes along with him being a member of the false
teaching RCC.

Oh, I live about 50 miles from a J C Penny Store, & I hardly ever go to that city, but I did send an email to head quarters to let them know why I would not be spending any more money in their store, that I am a pastor, & I will encourage my member not to enter their store eight. Does anyone know of list of companies that support the gay agenda? I know years ago I switched from AT&T because they were sponsoring gay events.

Here's something I found, but it's dated 2008.

That list prooves that you will not be able to cloth, feed and clean your house if you boycott everything on the list, My husband and I are not a boycotting family, I won't go to a place for a few months but, if I need something I hate to say this I would have to go get that item like at home depot, Gay and lesbians has a right to work , live their life and express how they are in this nation , I do however know your concern and I do feel its sad that the companies has to stoop down to the level of gay agenda but at the same time people needs work, feed their families and cloth their families and so on.

I understand what you're saying. I don't agree with you but, I understand.

This list, which I see from their website is updated annually, is a gauge of just how poorly Christians (me included) have contended for the faith. However, I will be even more alert to this going forward.

In the Gospels, the only people that Jesus spoke in a harsh way to were the Pharisees...the spiritual leaders who had taken Judaism and twisted it into their own moral code in order to oppress people. With sinners, Jesus dealt very compassionately and spoke love and light into their hearts. Jesus went out of his way to get to know the hearts of sinners. He took time to talk deeply with people He did not cast stones, and in fact chastized the religious leaders who did want to cast stones at the adultress woman.

He spoke truth into the life people, and when they rejected him, he allowed them to walk away with no further harsh words, such as the rich young ruler who was unwilling to give up his wealth to be a follower.

How is boycotting a company because they hire gay people furthering the message of Christ? It is not. It is putting out a message that Christians are against gay people. We should not be against anyone. We should love everyone and speak compassionately to every person and recognize the human dignity of every person. Yes, we all have sinful, destructive tendencies. However, the only time to speak and act in a harsh manner is when someone's actions is hurting or oppressing other people.

Our message should be one of love, just as Christ loved us. If our message is one of hostility, then the people we are hostile towards will be hostile back. They will never have open hearts to the message of Christ.

Instead of speaking out against homosexuals, why not invite some of them over to your house for dinner? Get to know them on a personal level, and speak the love of God into their lives. It is up to them to accept or reject it. If we do not know people personally, we have not earned the right to speak about spiritual matters in their lives, as that is one of the most intimate, personal things there is. We need to spread love, and if they reject it, that is ok. We need to press on showing love and compassion. Perhaps one day they will allow the love of Christ to enter their hearts. However, if we push people away and do not take time to get to know them, how will we ever bring the gospel to them? It is our message to share the love of Christ with others. It is God's job to reform hearts. As God reforms one's heart, behaviors change will follow. It may take time, but it will follow once the love of Christ has taken root.

I hope taht explains my thoughts clearly. I hope to try to invest my life in the life of others, be they sinner or saint. I hope to choose loving and compassionate actions. I just cannot see how a boycott like this is a loving and compassionate action.

Kind, I understand your thoughts, and I appreciate that you wrote them so clearly. There are some good points to what you've stated, but I would hasten to say that witnessing on a one-on-one basis is different from what is going on here.

Ellen has been quite vocal in her contempt of Christianity and Christians...and it isn't because Christians haven't approached her in compassion and love (at least, none of us can say it is so - nor, truthfully, can we say she hasn't had bad experiences with Christians). Because she is vocal in her contempt, a company that hires her is basically endorsing that contempt, albeit exercising their free market rights of advertisement. As they can exercise their free market rights of advertising, Christians, and indeed anyone else, can exercise their free market rights of boycotting...and Christians can add to it the principle of not supporting ungodliness.

Yes, there are other companies that have gay owners, support the gay rights agenda, use gays for advertisement, etc. And I know a number of Christians who do not buy from them. That does not show a lack of compassion. Because those same Christians do what they can to reach out to all of the lost, including gays. Where a Christian spends their dollars goes beyond witnessing - it deals with the fact that the Christian's money rightly belongs to God, and each Christian has to answer to God for how they use that money. If the Christian believes that they should not support a company due to gay related issues, that is their biblical right to do so.

I typed this over several minutes, with lots of interruptions...hope it makes sense.

That list does not mean you will not be able to clothe your family. It just means that it will be difficult. God has no where in the Bible promised that following Jesus will be easy, yet has promised it will be difficult.

I promise you doing the right thing will generally be much harder that doing the wrong thing. That is, its easy to take the easy way out, it take no self discipline, you just go with the flow of this world.
