A few places in the Old Testament there is reference made to the nation of Israel that God will give them a new heart and also make a new covenant with them. Well, the outdoor seasons are nearly hear for everyone in the U.S. During the spring and summer I try to spend time outside, do you other folks spend more time out and away from the keyboard? I wonder if OB becomes a ghost town during the summer? Does everyone just quit posting during the nice weather or is it more active than other boards? There is an international membership here so, do the southern hemisphere folks post more frequently during the the fair weather months of the northern hemisphere? ON May 9th the Postal Carrier will be picking up bags of non perishable cans & boxes of food i nmost cities. The food will be sorted out atthe post offce then given to the food banks. If you live in a smaller city your post office my not participate in the food drive. This is nationwide. If your ciity does not participate you can always give the Salvation Army or a Woman's Crisis sheltr some extra food. ANgelmiss

Started reading the book One Heartbeat Away, Your Journey into Eternity. Its kind of slow going in that its taking me a long time to read. KInd of weird coming from someone that used to read books like some everyday habit. This book by Mark Cahill is so far well written and as far as I can tell right on. Great reading . I have another by him called The One Thing You can't do in Heaven. I have yet to read that one, but intend to after this one.

Many years ago I came across a sermon an IB preacher named Gary Dice when he visited Australia, and from memory he was preaching on this passage, or at least referencing it. He sang a slightly silly song about this section of Romans 7, but I have never been able to find any reference to it anywhere else. I would appreciate it if anyone has heard of it and could give me a reference or link to it, or best case, the sheet music. I know there are many songs that come up when you do a google search, but none of them have been the one I am looking for. It has the words almost direct from the KJV, not just something loosely based on that text. Thanks folks. -

I also noticed he seems quieter, perhaps more humble this time. But even last time I had come to view his particular tendency to boast as just having an immensely positive attitude. He's also careful to thank others and to offer credit where credit is due, while having no compunctions about calling out anyone who deserves none. -

Just to clarify on the repenting God did when Israel turned from their evil ways. The thing here is that their turning from evil ways here is called... works. So since salvation isnt by works ..and turning from evils ways IS works.. hence the issue with repent meaning 'turn from sin'. So there is what I was meaning. -

Thankfully the pastors I know NEVER STOPPED preaching the gospel. Remember, TGL, they're to preach the whole counsel of God, not just salvation messages. And just to be clear, preaching messages that promote conservative, Biblical values is imperative. Maybe one should let the Holy Spirit guide in what these pastors preach, eh?
