Has anyone watched these? I thought it was interesting how the downed trees in Spirit Lake below Mt. St. Helens are sinking by the roots first and making an underwater forest which will not long hence become petrified...like the petrified forrest in Arizona. It doesn't take millions of years.

My local church is changing it's name from Decatur Chapel (Happy may remember us by that) to Decatur Baptist. We're still adhereing to the IFB tenets, instead of moving away from them. Probably wouldn't set well with the liberal leaning crowd for us to be going the other way.

Does anyone else enjoy this besides me? Miller-Urey 1953 "But the Miller-Urey experiment, important as it was, had a flaw. Urey had based his primitive-Earth atmosphere on astronomical data just then coming in, the first spectra from the giant planets in our Solar System: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. These characteristic bands of color showed that the giants were swathed in atmospheres rich in methane and ammonia, thought to be left over from the planets' formation. The catch is that oxygen, although an absolute necessity for multicellular, advanced life, is poison to pre-biotic synthesis. Do a Miller-Urey experiment in an oxygen-rich atmosphere, Kasti…

I like proverbs of all kinds, those small sentences containing a nugget of truth. There are 31 chapters in Proverbs in the Old Testament. Read one chapter a day corresponding to the date of the month and everyday you will find something that applies to your life that day. For instance, verse 34 & 35of Chapter 8 says, Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. That proverb speaks to me today, the 8th of February. Try it, it will benefit you. Every culture had its proverbs and probably every areas of life. I ran across on this morning in th…

I was given a "The Master Study Bible," KJV, with an, "Encyclopedia," Topical Concordance," and, "Other Study Materials," as a gift. Copyright by, "Cornerstone Bible Publishers" in Nashville, TN. Its leather bound. It has a "Bible Reading Plan," by Robert Murray. Besides having a nice "Bible Notes" section in the back it appears to have quite a selection of Bible maps. It is a Reference Bible with the references in the middle column. Does anybody have any comments on it? Good or bad. I have not have time to check any references as yet. Is there any references that anybody wants to bring to my attention? Any comments, or specific things to look for, or backg…

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. [Psalms 10:4] Transhumanism Transhumanism is a class of philosophies of life that seek the continuation and acceleration of the evolution of intelligent life beyond its currently human form and human limitations by means of science and technology, guided by life-promoting principles and values. – Max More (1990) “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.” [Romans 1:22-23] Transhumanism is j…

So, do you have a scripture which recently or previously influenced you or made a positive change in you. How did it provide, reproof, correction, instruction, confirmation, encouraging, or joy? Nothing too personal, use some discretion for the audience sake. Recently, more than one verse... When your morning devotion falls on Psalms 139 self-reflection comes easily to any who walk the pilgrim’s way. If tears blur your reading before you’re half way through the twenty-four verses, it’s understandable. David states that the Lord has searched him and known him within the first six verses. Then, in the last two verses he asks for God to do it again. "23 Search me…

This kind of stuff doesn’t get shared well by the mainstream media, so I was curious to find out what’s happening out there. Covid is being used as an excuse to remove our religious liberties. What measures are/have been taken against churches in your part of the world (and where is that?). The intent of this thread is not to discuss whether or not measures are necessary. Here in Alberta, a pastor in Edmonton was arrested yesterday for continuing to ignore restriction limits. He was charged and released, and will appear in court end of March.

Have you accepted this position? "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." [Matthew 28:18-20] Satan and those who are confused or deceived by Satan will, in Satan's case knowingly, and in the case of the deceived, knowingly or unknowingly do any/every-thing to prevent you from performing the work you have accepted when you accepted this positio…

It seems that since this virus has become known (notice I did not say since it's been here...because it was here before the "experts" claim), there is no other way of dying. No other sickness. In fact, pharmacists have been saying that they are no longer selling tamiflu...apparently flu and colds no longer exist. It's a miracle! Not really - that was sarcasm, for the folks who don't know. ? However, covid has taken over the airwaves and the minds of many. To the exclusion of all else. Gunshot deaths are labeled covid - because $$. By far too many other deaths are labeled at least covid-related - again because $ (states get money from the feds for it, doncha know). …

It seems to me that President Trump was on the way to win the presidential election by a wide margin. When the Democratic controlled electoral process saw an obvious Trump win the States left ( Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Michigan), with a Democratic controlled electoral process stopped the election process, denied legal observers to observe the process, allowed ballots to come in after November 4th., and let a multitude of fraudulent ballots be counted for Biden. Already as we speak, YouTube, the major news media, Twitter, etc.. is trying desperately to stop any rational discussion and legal remedy. Here is a video for your consideration and i…

7 …These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. [Revelation 3:7-8] --I believe we, as Americans, did fail to go through the door opened by God. I also believe we wasted God’s opportunity. Our forthcoming administration for national government is the result. Adversity is on the way to the church of Jesus Christ. What will we do now? --Ezekiel 22:30 And I soug…

George's Republican chief says Trump would have won Georgia by 10,000 votes if he [Trump] had not suppressed his own base. Georgia's Republican top election official Brad Raffensperger says he believes President Trump's attacks on mail voting suppressed his own base and cost him the state. For months, Trump spread baseless claims that mail voting is untrustworthy and fundamentally fraudelent. He's now attacking Georgia officials like Raffensperger over his loss in the state. Raffensperger pointed that around 24,000 Republicans who voted by mail in the state's June 9 primary elections did not vote at all in the general, and said Trum…

I was quite disappointed in Fox News and their miss-handling of the presidential election. I feel they were biased and helped Biden in the election on purpose in an effort to defeat Trump. As of now, I do not think that Fox News is a reliable news source. So, I am in the process of looking for a better, more conservative, news source. Here is one that I am thinking of listening to, "The Heritage Foundation": https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5bEfSFTYQVfLCwkhBt8NtQ Anybody else have any comments? Suggestions?

No surprise here. If you were to choose a word that rose above most in 2020, which word would it be? Ding, ding, ding: Merriam-Webster on Monday announced “pandemic” as its 2020 word of the year. “That probably isn't a big shock,” Peter Sokolowski, editor at large for Merriam-Webster, told The Associated Press. “Often the big news story has a technical word that's associated with it and in this case, the word pandemic is not just technical but has become general. It's probably the word by which we'll refer to this period in the future,” he said. The word took on urgent specificity in March, when the coronavirus crisis was designated a pandemic, b…

Just for information. During the week, 11/15 to 11/21 over 1,000,000 new COVID cases were reported in the USA. Let's round it down to 1,000,000. There are 640,800 seconds in a week. That means that every 0.648 seconds a new case was diagnosed and two new cases were reported every 1.096 seconds were reported.

Because it was asked, and it is not appropriate to further pollute that thread. MacArthur promotes: multiple bible (per)versions. Calvinism (and I don't care what name you put on it). Progressive worship. "Elder rule". Universal church. Although I wouldn't recommend going to his site, if you do, all these things are cleatly evident. He does get some things right, but 90% of rat poison is good food - it is the 10% that is dangerous.

OK, I'm KJVO all the way but I'm trying to encourage my sister to read at least the gospels but I know she'll have trouble with the style. She never made it past 8th grade. Should I encourage her to start with any version as long as she reads the "bible"? I first started out with a NIV but eventually "saw the light". Also, my mother is reading the Living Bible (ugh) but I don't want to discourage her. At least she's reading something that resembles a bible and that alone is a miracle with my family and I've heard it said it's better to read and believe any version of the bible than none at all. What is your opinion?
