I was given a "The Master Study Bible," KJV, with an, "Encyclopedia," Topical Concordance," and, "Other Study Materials," as a gift. Copyright by, "Cornerstone Bible Publishers" in Nashville, TN. Its leather bound. It has a "Bible Reading Plan," by Robert Murray. Besides having a nice "Bible Notes" section in the back it appears to have quite a selection of Bible maps. It is a Reference Bible with the references in the middle column. Does anybody have any comments on it? Good or bad. I have not have time to check any references as yet. Is there any references that anybody wants to br

What is everyone’s thoughts on the Thompson Chain Reference Bible? I really did not like it the first time I saw one, but now I’ve come to realize that it is a great tool for getting into God’s word and digging into it. I have found it stimulates my devotional reading and is very helpful for digging into the different topics in a particular text. I like that it causes you to just move around in the Bible day apart from some notes in the back it has basically no theological bias.

inspiration Critical Truths About The Scriptures Everyone Should Know
DoctorDaveT posted a sermon entry in DoctorDaveT's Sermons
Critical Truths About The Scriptures Everyone Should Know Introduction This message is entitled "Critical Truths About the Scriptures Everyone Should Know." These critical truths will be taught through an historical drama told from the Old Testament. The main characters of our historical drama are little known or not known at all. Allow me to introduce them to you. First, there is the prophet Jeremiah. He is sometimes called “the weeping prophet” because of his tears that he shed over the city of Jerusalem and its citizens. As a prophet of God, Jeremiah experienced very little -
I’ve been interested in starting one of those plans where you are sent a study on each part of the Bible every day, until you get through the whole book, in a year. Has anyone done one of these? I want to make sure I use one with Biblically sound studies. Has anyone followed one that they trust?

I saw this poem in the March 10, 2017, Vol. LXXXIII, No. 5, issue of 'The Sword of the Lord.' The Poem did not list any credits, or an author, and may be found on page 3, under, 'For Preachers.' My Bible Though the cover is worn And the pages are torn And though places bear traces of tears, Yet more precious than gold Is the Book, worn and old, That can shatter and scatter my fears. When I prayerfully look In the precious old Book, As my eyes scan th

OK so here's the problem, I have an issue talking to people in my church about my believes because of persecution. I was born and raised Southern Baptist and that is what I am today but for 10 years in between now and then I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. I did several studies throughout my time there and before a joined on verses in the Bible that link to their beliefs. Everyone that I know in the Baptist Church has said that Jesus was pre-ordained to save us from our sins but no one wants to take knowledge that He was there before the world was formed. Also

I've recently started listening to J Vernon McGees through the Bible radio broadcast. It's a 5 year program where he teaches through the entire Bible. So far it's been very challenging and exciting. though he's not perfect (He teaches the Gap theory)..he is sounds for the most part. I want to encourage you to join me on the Bible bus. If you have a smart phone you can download the Thru the Bible app and listen freely, you can also purchase the series in a variety of formats from their website.

As many of you know, I am going to Uganda in June for about 3 weeks. The Lord has been burdening my heart intensely for missions lately, and I am practically begging God to send me. I am expecting God to make clear to me his calling when I go in June. I am playing around with the idea of going to Baptist Bible Translators Insitute: https://baptisttranslators.com/about-bbti/ it is basically a 9 month missionary boot camp where they teach you linguistics, bible translation principles, and a whole lot of absolutely helpful things for mission work. It costs about 250 a month, plus living exp

As many of you know, we are commanded to "Study" to show ourselves approved. God places a priority and a premium on personal Bible Study. So my question is how do you study your bible? what methods do you use? I find myself constantly using my iPad to look up Greek and Hebrew words, as well as searching for words and verses. One thing that I like doing us taking a particular book of the Bible and reading it over and over and over again until I really understand the main focus and layout of the book, I often would read through different commentaries on the book in addition to my dail

Many modern bible versions were made by individuals, foundations, bible societies, para church organizations etc. but how many of these or which ones were directly commissioned and overseen by the authority of an actual "church"?

I have recently ran across an issue with our Sunday School classes. I am the Superintendent (that's hebrew for "you do this nOBody else wants to" ) of the Sunday School classes. We have a lady teaching the teens with the oldest ones being 15 which are her 2 sons (twins). The statement was made the other day that we didn't need to have a woman teaching boys over 13 years old. Since then I have inquired about the 13 year old rule. I have asked a few deacons, preachers, and friends. Only a few have a different answer. Most stick to the 13 year old rule. I decided to search out the Bible first

Sunday evening my pastor spoke on Man's Wisdom vs. God's Wisdom 1 Corinthians 3:16-23 v16, compare to John 16:7,13 v18, to learn you must become a fool (in man's eyes) v19, compare to 1 Corinthians 2:14; James 3:15,16 (man's wisdom) Romans 1:18-32 v18, man's wisdom = ungodliness and unrighteousness v19, God has revealed himself to everyone v20, Creation is clearly seen by everyone and proclaims God's eternal power -- no man has an excuse v21-23, they choose to reject the evidence before them; brings God down to their level v24, God gave them up -- to uncleanness v25, thr

Our Sunday School lesson was on 2 Corinthians 6:1-13. The verse that really stood out to me was verse 3, "Giving no offence in any thing; that the ministry be not blamed:" It took me back to 2 Corinthians 5:20, "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God." We are ambassadors, or representatives, of Christ on this earth. An ambassador represents his country to another country. That person embodies the ruler of his country for the citizens of another country. He acts on his behalf. Verses 4 and 6 s
