21:44 Do they see Us advancing, gradually reducing the land (in their control), curtailing its borders on all sides? It is they who will be overcome.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20101002/lf_afp/britainreligionlawdruidsoffbeat "Britain has recognised druidry as an official religion for the first time, thousands of years after the Celtic pagan faith emerged in Europe, the country's charity commission said Saturday. The Druid Network, an organisation representing the religion in Britain, was granted charitable status in a decision that not only gives it tax breaks but also lets the religion take its place alongside more mainstream beliefs. "This has been a long hard struggle, taking over five years to complete," the Druid Network said in a statement after its application to be registered as a charity had been accept…

I wanted to start a topic on good reads to learn how that one might talk with a Muslim about receiving Christ. I like the book "Unveiling Islam" by The Caner Brothers

Ok, I made this thread to learn more about Christianity. I am reading the Bible on my own but, I'm going to have questions so I hope to post them here. Hopefully, since you guys know more about your religion than I do, you can help me relate your beliefs to mine to make this easier to understand and, in the end, easier to give up my own beliefs for yours. I want you all to understand that I'm not Odinist simply because one day I just chose to be. My beliefs are all I have left of my biological parents save for a picture and a necklace. This isn't going to happen over night but, I have to start somewhere. Anyways, for my first questions. After reading Genisis a few times…

I once heard a Sunday School teacher teaching us that the giants, before the flood, did not have souls. He said that when they died, that was their end; they would have no resurrection. He gave no passage or verse to prove it. I think I may have stumbled upon the verse he might have based this on. [bible]Isaiah 26:14[/bible] The word "deceased" in the verse, is translated from the Hebrew word rapha' which appears to simply mean 'dead' or 'deceased" and also happens to be connected somehow with "rephaim" or giants. I see no other connection to prove that the "Rephaim" had no souls, and besides, the giants in Genesis were supposed to be "Nephilim", not "Rephaim". htt…

Does the devil really wear Prada? The psychology of anthropomorphism and dehumanization February 25, 2010 People talk to their plants, pray to humanlike gods, name their cars, and even dress their pets up in clothing. We have a strong tendency to give nonhuman entities human characteristics (known as anthropomorphism), but why? In a new report in Current Directions in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science, psychological scientists Adam Waytz from Harvard University and Nicholas Epley and John T. Cacioppo from University of Chicago, examine the psychology of anthropomorphism.... http://www.physorg.com/news186330182.html I though…

I was browsing the book "Invicta" mentioned in another thread, Horae Apocalypticae; or, A commentary on the Apocalypse authored by The REV. E. B. Elliott. You immediately notice there are many references to Popery, Romanism, etc. It was refreshing to see the terms openly and frequently used. The 19th Century writers were not afraid to be non-PC or were they at that time, showing political correctness? It was after all published in England in the 1800s. When was the term "catholic" first incorporated into the Roman Church?

Once again, Easter season is upon us! "Here Comes Peter Cottontail, Hopping down the Bunny trail... TRIPPIN' OUT ON CRACK!" But is GOD behind it? DEFINITELY NOT! LET'S START WITH MARDI GRAS & ASH WEDNESDAY. It has PAGAN roots, coming from a Roman rite which they obtained from Vedic India. Ashes were said to be a symbol of the purifying blood of the god Shiva, which washed away sins. Mardi Gras is the day of excesses before the austerity of Ash Wednesday & Lent. In fact, the whole Lent/Ash Wednesday/Mardi Gras/ Maundy Thursday/Easter thingie is assembled from various PAGAN sources, interspersed with Biblical truths to attempt to make it appear authe…

Mosta you have hearda the "seven church ages" doctrine derived from the first part of revelation where JESUS gives John some messages he is to send to seven churches existing at that time. There is a doctrine that Christ's Church as a whole has gone thru successive ages for each of these churches. This doctrine was developed by john darby in England and spread in the USA by the charlatan teleminister William Marrion Branham & furthered by such as Clarence Larkin & Dr. Peter S. Ruckman. Here are the IDs & descriptions of each of those churches as given by JESUS: (1) Ephesus (2:1-7) This type of church does worship God and has all its doctrines in accordance…

Anyone ever heard of this? I never have. Two people stopped by my house tonight from this group. They have some crazy beliefs that are just things I have never heard of (crazy California!!). They believe in a heavenly mother, Saturday sabbath, baptism and celebration of passover are required for salvation, Heaven is a mirror to earth (there is a heavenly Jerusalem and an earthly one), and we must know the bride of Christ (who is our heavenly mother) to enter heaven. They wanted to have the bishop come over and baptize me in my shower! I've never heard of any of this before, or this group. Anyone?

How many of ya have ever talked over matters of worship with any AMISH? Do ya believe they're some sorta "super-Christians: called for special service to GOD? Well, nothing could be further from the TRUTH! The Amish are as much of a CULT as the JWs, LDS. or any other quasi/pseudo-Christian group you can think of! Why? Let's start with their basic view of SALVATION, that most-basic item of Christianity. No "Old Order" Amish believes in certainty of salvation while in this life! They believe that after their deaths God weighs all their obedience to the church, and only then decides upon salvation or damnation for each individual. it is a belief in PURE SALVA…

Since the WWCOG's founder/Big Kahoona Herbie Armstrong died in 1986, there have been at least 104 spinoffs of this outfit, while the main gang has undergone a dramatic "transformation" in an attempt to be recognized by "mainstream" Christianity. Here are a few of its changes: in 1988, Joseph W. Tkach, Sr. who succeeded herbie as "Pastor General", taught it was OK to go to doctors & use medicine, observe birthdays, & use cosmetics, reversinf Herbie's policies on these subjects. In 1991, they dropped the doctrine that men would become gods, & re-identified many of the descendants of the 10 "lost" tribes of Israel. In 1993, they "accepted the HOLY TRINITY, …

http://thecatholictelegraph.com/index.p ... d&Itemid=2 As swine flu spreads, Mexican cardinal prays to Our Lady of Guadalupe Cardinal Rivera celebrated Mass April 26 behind closed doors in the Metropolitan Cathedral for about 50 people who had been permitted to enter. In his homily, he called on the Mexican population to never lose hope and to mutually assist each another during the crisis. He also prayed to Our Lady of Guadalupe for intervention, noting that she had helped during pandemics four times since 1554. "We beg for your protection and help for quickly overcoming the epidemic that has affected our nation," Cardinal Rivera prayed. "Cover us with your c…

Vatican buries the hatchet with Charles DarwinRichard Owen in Rome The Vatican has admitted that Charles Darwin was on the right track when he claimed that Man descended from apes. A leading official declared yesterday that Darwin?s theory of evolution was compatible with Christian faith, and could even be traced to St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas. ?In fact, what we mean by evolution is the world as created by God,? said Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi, head of the Pontifical Council for Culture. The Vatican also dealt the final blow to speculation that Pope Benedict XVI might be prepared to endorse the theory of Intelligent Design, whose advocates credit a ?higher …

A look at Matthew 16 vs dogma The best commentary on scripture is scripture. Matthew 16:13-23 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say a…

Here's a post I wrote on another site concerning the RCC mantra they call the rosary: The rosary was supposedly started for the benefit of those who couldn't read, with the Dominic story added later, but it's still a violation of Jesus command: "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." (Matthew 6:7, KJV) Please note that Jesus' command refers to PRAYER, and not Scripture recitation. Prayer is part of a CONVERSATION, and should never be done from habit or blind repetition without thinking through every word, be it a vocal or silent prayer. AND THE RECITATION OF THE ROSARY IS IN DI…
