Howdy! I wanted to share this most wonderful testimony! My husband and I witnessed to a good friend of ours, who happened to teach Chemistry at a local college where we live. We sent him with a DVD from Dr. Kent Hovind over one year ago...Just a couple of weeks ago, he returned to us ready for answers! He prayed a prayer of salvation with my husband after several hours of discussion, and just today he called and said that he was fired from his job for teaching CREATIONISM instead of evolution!!! He was absolutely extatic, and he is looking forward to his new LIFE in CHRIST! WOW, I love to see the LORD working in my life...WHAT A BLESSING!!!!!!!!!! :tum

Our church had our annual "Big Day" on Sunday. We had 199 people at church on Sunday morning (We were shooting for 300). Eleven people were saved. The bus route that I work on had 41 people on it. That is a new high for any of our church buses. Last week was my high day (21 riders) this year, so 41 was a nice surprise. We also had a beautiful day so our outdoor service went very well. It was about 70 degrees and sunny.

Praise God!!! Two of my cousins came with me to church yesterday. One is 14 and the other is 16. They used to go to church all the time when they lived next door to me, but moved to the other end of town and got mixed up with JW. They rode the bus to church yesterday morning and they asked me to take them Sunday night. They even want me to take them Wednesday. This really surprised me because I haven't talked to them in about 2 years and they both go to Catholic school. They seem really excited about it. I'm also thankful that we have friendly people in our church, because a couple of the girls were very friendly to the 16 year old girl, and I think that helped …

We've been attending a new church for a while after bouncing around trying to find a church in town (we had moved and were attending an out of town church and needed to find something in the community here.) Everywhere we would go the sermons lacked conviction being afraid to mention the "S" word*, or were in the Seeker Sensitive vein. Finally, we landed at an Independent and Fundamental Baptist church. Very similar to the little SBC church I was in as a younger boy when I lived with my Great-Grandparents. I always joked "you know you've got a good pastor when he sermons make you think he's been spying on you all week." Well, every single sermon that we've heard, …

I joined a prayer group about a few months ago. At the time it was something a lot of my friends were doing, and I thought it was interesting so I thought I would give it a try. They were hanging out in the Tenderloin (a place infested with drugs, prostitution and pornography), praying for people, passing out bibles, sometimes giving out things like sandwiches, sox; just basically loving on people. I didn't undersand exactly why people would do that week after week, but the only thing I knew was that God was indeed telling me to go out into the tenderloin and pray for people, and offer them sox, and offer them the word, and to love on people. So I made it a regular practi…

I just thought about this...I have learned that the more I struggle to get closer to God or to amend my sinful ways and renew my mind through the Holy Spirit, the more the stinking devil will shoot his fiery darts (e.g., lust, malicious co-workers, slander) at me. I like to praise God because I know that I must be doing something right otherwise such spiritual onslaught from the devil (the father of all lies) wouldn't be coming my way. And regardless of the spiritual attacks that come my way - I know that the battle has already been won, because greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. Love, Madeline

Wow, the Lord allowed me to participate in two new salvations this week. A young woman who had been visiting us for a while asked me a couple of Sundays ago if I'd perform her wedding. We set up an appointment to start marriage counseling and to allow me to meet her fiance. I wasn't quite sure of the woman's salvation experience, but from what she told me of her fiance, he wasn't saved. The Lord allowed that first counseling session to become their salvation experience! Now, they're entering marriage under God's perspective, rather than the world's. And their salvation couldn't have come at a better time for me - I was getting a little discouraged. I'm glad God is sti…

A friend of our family who is a missionary in Brazil is back home for a few weeks. While he is home, he has been trying to find a few new churches to go to for support. My in-laws church is having a missionary conference during the time that he is here, and they have only 2 missionaries coming. Long story short - with phone calls between my mother-in-law, our friend, and the church's pastor, our friend will be able to be in the conference. The church is New Testament Baptist in Des Moines, Iowa, and our friend's name is Bob Gilley.

Our church has had Brother Hal Hightower in for our Spring revival that started Easter A.M. We had 574 in attendance Easter morning ( a new high for us) with nine saved. This evening we had two more professions as well as a tremendous altar response each service. God has blessed and we are grateful for his presence and power. For those interested I will post the link for the messages later. orvals

I'm registered with a couple of temp agencies, and recently one of them sent my resume to a Purchasing Coordinator for an oil & gas exploration company in downtown Houston. They liked my resume enough to call me for an interview. I interviewed on Monday (it went surprisingly well -- usually I get really nervous during interviews but I wasn't this time, and I have God to thank for that :smile ). Yesterday afternoon I got a call from my agency and they told me that the people I interviewed with at this company liked me and thought I would be a great fit for this position (providing clerical support to the Purchasing Coordinator -- including scanning documents, obtai…

I love reading Song of Solomon and there is section of a passage which caught my attention. SOS CHAPTER 3:1-4 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not. The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth? It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me. I think this is a…

I just want to thank God for giving us a daughter. Today is her second birthday, and I'm just so incredibly thankful that God sent her into our lives. She is such a delight! We had wanted a child for about 5 years before finally becoming pregnant, and she's certainly a gift from God. Here's a picture of her: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/m ... G_2911.jpg

I have to give praise to the Lord for protecting my wife today. She had an accident on the way to work this morning. As she was crossing a busy highway, her car was hit in the side. She had waited for a truck that was turning

It's amazing how much going to church can help you out. I had a pretty rough day today. I failed my stats test. I was feeling terrible. Then I was able to go to church. It lifted my spirits greatly. Between the singing, praising God, seeing my friends, and preaching, I felt as good as ever. I just wanted to thank God for how good church is.

I've been miserable at my job for the past few months -- a long story that I don't need to get into except to say that although I didn't lose confidence that God would get me through it, there were still too many times that I got bogged down in the muck and lost sleep and allowed myself to get in bad moods over what was going on at work. In the past, I've been guilty many times of making business decisions on my own without consulting God, so this time I made a resolution that I would only go where He led. I prayed every step of the way, and today God provided me with a new job that is much better than my old one. There were many reasons why I shouldn't have gotten th…

...and by Dad, I mean my Heavenly Father. It has been quite sometime since I have been on these boards, and quite frankly I am surprised my username and password still works. The Lord knows my burdens and what is on my heart. In my personal walk, my zeal, fire and spirit were beat down and trampled on. I can not go back and change how I handled my situation, but the Lord knew what would be thrown in my path, and just what I would do. I give God praise for not forgetting me. I give God praise for calling out to me. I praise God for the comfort and strength I have in His hands. Thanks Dad.

Praise the Lord! Mother was released from the hospital today....after 7 weeks and a day. She'll be staying at my aunt's house for a week or two, because there are a lot of steps & stairs to negotiate at my folks' house and all the bedrooms are upstairs. But she is so glad to be out....and so are we! Thankyou all again for your prayers for her during and after her heart surgery. God is good!

I was looking through my bible and stumbled upon this chapter. I thought it was awesome. Praising the Lord is one way we get strength to overcome our battles. Psalm 138 1I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. 2I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. 3In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. 4All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth. 5Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of…
