James chapter 2, verses 14-26 (King James Version) 14: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15: If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16: And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18: Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the de…

What Bible studies would you folks recommend? What are some good ones you know of and what are some of your favorites? I'm wanting to change up my afternoon Bible studies and would like to use an actual Bible study book at this time. I saw and advertisement from a Christian retailer having a sale on Bible studies but when I looked at what they had I wasn't impressed. Almost all of their Bible study books were geared towards the NIV or another MV and several of them were written by Charismatics.

The Greatest Verse in the Bible 1 2

John 17:24 - Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. Nothing to really comment on but for me I think this is the greatest verse in the Bible. Thank God the Father that he always hears his Son! What an anchor for the soul in these perilous times. http://dannycarlton.net/KJVniv/ I copied it from the Far Eastern Bible College in Singapore to reference on my own computer, but when they removed it (for bandwidth reasons I believe) I got permission from them to put it on my own site. It has some excellent information in a very concise format. A great study outline.

On another thread some information was posted, sans sources of course, and basically I have more than a few books about King James, so here are some quotes from a few. King James was a baby sprinkling Protestant, yet his godly character, his virtuous and kind disposition are attested to by many historians, secular and Christian. To state that King James was not godly, is simple ignorance. History confirms his Christian testimony intact. __________________________________________________________________________ King James was not a godly man. Hmm? let?s see? King James believed that the Bible was dictated by God. ?The whole scripture is dictated by God?s …

The New KJV is a Hack Job Translation The following are just a few of the many places where the NKJV 1982 does not follow or translate the literal Hebrew texts. The NKJV translates hundreds of verses in such a way that they completely change the meaning found in the King James Bible, of which it is supposedly a modern revision. The NKJV also contains many misleading footnotes designed to discredit the Authorized King James Bible. We will look at just a few of these. MICAH Micah 7:19 - ?and thou wilt cast all THEIR sins into the depths of the sea.? ?THEIR sins? is the reading of the Hebrew texts as well as that of the Geneva Bible 1599, the RV 1881, ASV 1901, NASB …

http://www.raidersnewsnetwork.com/edito ... ature=5413 Why does the KJV translate the Hebrew "nephilim" as "giants". According to the above column, it's because the translators didn't know any better, or lacked the appropriate scholarship because of the time. Of course I don't buy any of it, but I am curious as to why the KJV uses the translation it does.

Not sure if this was posted before, but i'm reading through the book of Isaiah right now and wanted to know what the meaning of this verse is. Since God is perfectly good it wouldn't make sense for Him to create or do anything evil directly in the literal sense, so what is the correct interpretation for this passage? Does it refer to the fact that God is the creator of all things and while not directly creating evil or sin, He has allowed the free will of Man who then chose to sin and rebel?

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Here is the dictionaries definition of begotten: BEGOTTEN - [adj] (of offspring) generated by procreation; "naturally begotten child" Need some help from some of you bible scholars here. Does anyone know why the KJV translated it as (MONOGENES)? I read somewhere that it is an assumption that GENES is referring to "birth" whereas it comes from GINOMAI - "being, to become." MONO means "only." So it simply means "only, one and only, unique." Also at the time of the KJV translation there were several words that we di…

Suppose you had a library full of Bibles. Suppose you used some MVs as reference Bibles once in a while(not to say that you or I do). Suppose, since you are probably like me and don't think those MVs are completely God's Word, suppose you didn't read them much or use them much. And also, let's suppose you are like any Bible reader and you go through a Bible once every year to 5 years. So that would mean you would have a whole bunch of tattered copies of the KJV, the one you prefered, and only one copy of each MV that was in great shape. Now if I went through your library 1000 years later and found those MVs in perfect condition but your KJV was simply scraps by th…

Psalm 145 - Are 15 words missing from God's word in this Psalm? Psalm 145:13 "Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations." This is the reading of the King James Bible, Bishops' Bible 1568, Coverdale 1535, the Geneva Bible 1599, NKJV 1982, Revised Version 1881, ASV 1901, NASB 1963-1995, Hebrew translations of 1917, 1936, the 2001 Judaica Press Tanach, Darby, Spanish Reina Valera 1602-1995, Young's, Hebrew Names Version, Bible in Basic English, Living Bible, Amplified, and the Third Millenium Bible 1998. Not even Daniel Wallace's NET version includes the extra words, but reads as do the KJB, NKJV, NASB. However in the NI…

I've prayed and prayed about WHAT Bible version God would have me to read, I bought a NKJV Study Bible awhile ago, and it just didn't "seem right" to me........can't explain it really. I've NEVER liked the NIV, which I feel is a very poor translation, but I thought the NKJV was ok.......now, I KNOW that God has shown me in many different ways, most of them just the discomfort about reading some other version, that the KJV is THE Bible I WANT!!!...........it's like coming home !! my :2cents

Strong's Concordance 1 2

Last night Pastor shared with us something very interesting about Strong's concordance. Most people use it to let the Greek and Hebrew correct the English because they think that the Greek and Hebrew have deeper meaning that didn't carry over into that English. However, did you know that James Strong was on the translation committee for the American Standard Version, and when he went bankrupt, he brought out Strong's concordance? Strong's concordance is based on the WRONG texts! Katy-Anne

The Foolishness of Textual Criticism in the Book of Romans The book of Romans, just as every other New Testament book, is full of examples where the two so called oldest and best manuscripts (Sinaiticus and Vaticanus) are at odds with each other. Without exception, any modern version promoter who tries to tell you that our King James Bible is based on just a few late manuscripts, and that in the last few years we have made many important textual discoveries, is full of hot air. He himself does not believe that any Bible in any language is now the inspired, complete and 100% true "book of the LORD". Scripture tells us that "in the last days perilous times shall come" a…
