Question about Jeremiah 9:25-26

I was studying Jeremiah 9 and I read the following: Jeremiah 9 25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; 26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart. Can anyone provide some comments about these verses? Specifically the part about circumcised with the uncircumcised and the uncircumcised in the heart. I want to make sure I am on the right track. Thank you.

It says in verse 12 that the seed that fell by the wayside were not saved ("lest they should believe and be saved") but what about the rest? Does the seed that say fell on the rock represent those that are saved or unsaved? It says they "which for awhile, believe" but also says "and in time of tempatation, fall away." Help anyone? 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some

I have a question. Why must we use the King James Version only when there have been older manuscripts found and we know more about the English language than we did before back in 1611? :puzzled: I am not disagreeing with the King James Only position, I am just curious. I actually agree with the King James only position but this question was brought up on another board that I frequent.

I am interested in getting a KJV Study Bible and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations? The only KJV Study Bible I've looked at before is a Scofield one that talks about dispensations (I'm not sure what those are or if they are correct). I want to make sure I get one that is biblically sound. Thanks!

Hi everyone. Can you all please help me understand why the King James Version is the perfect Bible version in English? I would really appreciate your help as I don't understand the issue.

Of course, all of scripture is great. But this time of year my mind always turns to verses about the Messiah. We go over some of the prophecies in nursing home every couple of years. This year I was looking at Genesis 3:15 again. It is so full! "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." No wonder most women don't like snakes. :Green Jesus' virgin birth is taught here. "her seed" Jesus' death is taught here. "thou shalt bruise his heel." Jesus' victory over death and the devil is taught here. "it shall bruise thy head." Everyone knows that the sure way t…

KJV Translation variance Gen 2:2 Heb 4:10 1 2 3 4

It is difficult for me to adhere to the KJVO doctrine when I see variances in the text the translators produced. For example and then in In Genesis 2 we see a creator that has finished his magnifant work in creation and the KJVA say that God "RESTED" on the seventh day. Yet, In Hebrews we see the exact same time referenced and it referenced as He "CEASED" from own works. Now I know that in english that RESTED and CEASED are not the same word nor do they carry the same meaning. The very fact that the two words exist speaks to their seperate meanings. It is very difficult to use the word "rest" or "rested" without it carrying the connotation of the person "r…

First, I'd like to state that I DO NOT want this question to be perceived as an attack on the KJV. I'm looking for an answer to a question which came as a result of a debate I had yesterday with a JW. The question is?. I am curious as to why the KJV translates mono-genes as "only begotten" in John 3:16? This is what gave rise to the JW argument that Jesus was somehow given birth to. This is what the English definition (begotten) most certainly conveys. I've done some research on the web concerning the original greek word/s and came up with this explanation. Thanks in advance! Love, Madeline

These have to be my favorite Psalms. Psalm 51: [bible]1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity,; and in sin did my mother conce…

Does anyone have an explanation of Psalms 46 KJV: Count 46 words down from the beginning; Count 46 words up from the end not including 'Selah', which isn't in the 'originals'. 1. God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas; 3. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof. [selah 4. There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. 5. God is in the midst of her; She shall not be moved: God w…

What about the ESV? I know some folks who generally don't like modern versions yet they say they like this one. How does the ESV compare to the KJB? I know there are some websites which show side by side comparisons between the KJB and other modern versions; is there such for the ESV? I've seen verses from the ESV used in something I read but I've not actually read from an ESV so I don't know much about it...to say the least.

Hi everyone. I know this isn't really a contradiction but I don't understand it. Could someone please explain this to me? 1KI 4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. 2CH 9:25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. Is it possible that it is talking about two different time periods? :puzzled:

2 Kings 24:8 says "Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem." 2 Chronicles 36:9 says "Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord."

Good Morning All The day before last I was at a Christian bookstore in NH and purchased a "Evidence Bible". I was curious if any of you had heard of it in your journeys and if so what are some of your thoughts concerning it. Granted it said KJV on there or "Comfort-Able KJV". I read through a few places thus far and it seems they only change the "thee's" and "thou's " to "you", etc. The Bible was put together by http://www.wayofthemaster.com Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Have great day. God bless

Vials or Bowls in the book of Revelation? It is always a wonder to me to see how some men who seem to pride themselves on their ?deep scholarship? make fools of themselves when they try to criticize or find fault with God?s amazing Book - the Authorized King James Bible. Not one of these men believes that there exists a single book called the Holy Bible in ANY language under the sun that they consider to be the complete, inerrant, inspired and infallible words of God. Instead, each of them places his own mind and understanding as his final authority, and of course whatever he happens to think is not universally shared by others of equal or greater understanding. ?In…

This is not to debate but to find the views of KJV Only advocates. Why is the KJV 1611 perfect and not the Geneva Bible which came out before the KJV and was one of the most popular translation among the pilgrims. There are differences by the way between the 2 even though they are both based on the TR.

Romans 3:25 "remission of sins that are past" "In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Judges 21:25 What is your Final Authority? Do you believe the promises of God to give us a Book containing all His inspired and inerrant words, or do you believe, as most Christians today, that there is no inerrant Bible in any language? Is your Final Authority the King James Holy Bible, or is it A Lexicon, another commentator or your own understanding? There are many today who heap fulsome praise on that old Book telling us how wonderful it is, but then they add that its "archaic" language needs to be updated, and various "e…

In this day of apostasy it is important for Christians to be armed for the warfare. To have the breastplate of righteousness, having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation. And most important above all is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Now coming to that point! What do you carry into everyday battle as a good soldier for Jesus The Christ. A Butterknife or a Sword? Butterknife Is any modern version of the Bible (NIV,NKJV,NASB,NLT,etc) Sword is referring the King James Version which hasnt changed in the past 397 years God bless This was suppose to be a poll, but for some reason …

Please help me with the ones I can't come up with!! Thanks!! Here's what I have: 1. To whom was it addressed? 2. What did it mean to the present listeners. 3. Compare Scripture with Scripture. 4.? 5.? 6.? 7.? 8. ?

Most of us who devoutly believe and defend the King James Bible are well aware of how "stupid" "ignorant" "backward" "cultic" "unloving" and "narrow minded" we are IN YOUR EYES. You do not need to tell us again, we heard you the first time and have been hearing you for hundreds of years. The trouble is that we are a loyal and faithful lot finding it difficult to change our stand and beliefs. Even with all of your books, magazines, articles, and posts, you have not given us any evidence, either material or Spiritual, to show that you offer us anything better than what we already have. In fact there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that you could even offer us anyth…

What gives with Luke 17:34? Why would Jesus use this example when the Scriptures clearly state that two men shouldn't lie together? Luk 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Luk 17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Luk 17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

KJV Issue of Salvation?

Now this is something I'm pretty skeptical about... I've heard it said that there are IFB circles out there that believe that if you don't use the KJV, you're automatically going to hell. This sounds pretty insane to me, and I'm pretty sure there are extremely few of these kind of people, if any. But I do want to get my facts straight. Where I know there are plenty of peeps holding to the KJVO position, I most certainly haven't seen them make it an issue of salvation. Are there seriously people out there like that?
