Since the Super Walmart is 40 miles away and I buy 80% of my groceries there, I only go once a month. I do stop in the local grocery(12 miles away) maybe once a week for a couple items like bread or milk.

I generally go to the grocery store once a week - milk. bread, eggs, and the weekly sales I stock up on. I play the $20 game - I try to see how much food I can purchase with just $20 - usually beans, rice, oatmeal, and other staple food supplies are on that list too.

It varies, we usually so once every two weeks and stock up. I work every other weekend so we usually go on my weekend off. In between my wife or I will stop by the store for milk, eggs, bread, etc...

We usually go once a week to get the basics, milk, sale stuff. The rest we raise or grow ourselves my wife cans alot of food in the fall and we raise our own livestock, cattle, goats, chickens etc.. It's expensive to feed two teenage boys these days. I can't imagine what our grocery bill would be if we didn't grow our own.

YOWZA!!!!!!!!!!

A man after my own heart. :cooldude: :ears: :thumb :java: :cool

At home growing up, we would live out of the garden the from late spring and through the fall.

We found we could keep carrots in the ground all the way through the dead of winter under bales of hay or straw.

We had a ground cellar dug into the side of the hill to store taters, apples, cabbages, celery, rutabagas, turnips, salsify, etc. :lol

We do our major grocery shopping on Friday night or Saturday morning, but sometimes in the middle of the week we'll pick up a few things (perishables).

I'm not fond of crowds. I like to shop in the middle of the night, especially in the summer time. :tum .

What store(s) in your area are open that late (or early), besides Wal-Mart (which I know you'd never set foot in :lol )?
