Hello all; I earnestly desire your prayers.

While I preached last time; a professing satan worshipper came and destroyed my preaching sign (he threw it in the park's fountain and then a bunch of the youth stomped on it)

The police came and asked me to leave for fear of my safety. I waited till the police left and the satan worshipper and continued to preach a few more times.

When I went home my father overhead my phone call describing the events.

The next day my father asked me to stop street preaching (in fear of my saftety), but I told him I must continue to preach.

My father then attacked me and afterwards went upstairs and destroyed my preaching signs.

At that time I fled and hid; I have been staying with families from the church since.

I understand my families concern for my safety, but unfortunately it is unBiblical.

Stephen was martyred the first time he preached.

Acts 22:20
And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

Paul was stoned, and etc.

Acts 14:19
And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

Fear of persecution should NEVER hinder the preaching of the gospel.

Philippians 1:21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Please pray for me as I continue to preach twice a week. Please pray that I could find a permanent place to live if at all possible.

Please pray for me as I consider to go back to part-time and thus go street preaching six days a week.

Mark 10:29-30
29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering!

If my Son was killed street preaching, true I would miss him, but also be extremely proud and have no worries.
If a son decides to join an army, I'd rather it be Gods than the one that I know will be at our doors one day.

A hard situation to be sure and I understand that Peter etc were told not to preach and they rightly refused to stop.

Weigh this up against the command to obey and honour your parents though.

I do not suggest you stop preaching, but there may be a way you can continue to preach and still be under your father's authority.

I will pray for you.

Update: I moved out a while ago; I agreed not to preach while still at home. Currently I am sharing a townhouse with 2 heathens.

Still street preaching twice a week. Facing more resistance and what not (pushed off preaching box, etc.) Dealt with 2 sodomites today in the street preaching; went quite interesting.

May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering!

Sean, google "Michael Marcavage" and read up on him. He is a very interesting example of someone who has studied hard, not just the Bible, but the law as well, in order to ensure the legality of street preaching and expose the persecution they go through.

In 1999 as a college student he was falsely accused of mental instability and several college administrators attempted to have him committed. They failed, and he sued.

He then learned the importance of knowing the law. He now operates the ministry Repent America.

What I found especially informative were his court cases where he's taken on the police in many localities who will not themselves opbey they law, and attempt to silence Christians. It looks like he studies what the law (national, state and local) says and then goes just inside it. When the police attempt to silence him and charge him with a crime, he wins, and embarasses them. Then goes right back and does again what they'd just arrested him for. His earlier cases show a lack of full understanding for the way judges can callously interprit the law, and the later cases are more solid and often aggressive in that he files suit against the localities instead of simply settle for showing the police they can't charge people with things that aren't crimes. He was the leader of the Philly Seven that were arrested for holding up Bible verses during a homosexual rally.

His ministry encompasses street preaching, but also paving the way to force law enforcement to acknowledgde the Constitutional right that allow street preaching. It's a very interesting read.
