a spring thunderstorm.
Come on Trish! Don't leave the story hanging like that!!! :Green
Ok, ok, I was 5 and I had been in church since mom was saved when I was 1yr old. I remember being afraid of thunderstorms. It was a spring storm in March of '79' that mom led me to the LORD. I was afraid that the lightning would hit the house where my bed was and it would crush me and I would go to hell. I cried out for my mom and she came in and led me to the Lord. For the rest of the story, see our website under testimonies.

That's a cool story!

Would that thunder and lightning would drive more folks to the Lord!

I grew up Quaker family which it is not like Amish. Quakers are like christians. I thought I was saved. I did tell some others about Jesus until I was 19 years old. I asked myself. What about me? Am I saved? Oops! I forgot all about me. I did ask my mom. She told me I was led to Christ by a Sunday school teacher when I was around 6 years old. I couldn't remember this. I went to southern baptist church. I listened the sermon from the southern baptist preacher. Then I was on my way to home, I decided to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.
Later I asked the Lord where is the good church that helps me to grow in the Lord. About 2 years later I was started faithful to attend independent bible believing baptist church and I still attend it. Blessed be the name of the Lord! :smile

I was faced with a situation where my life was in danger - I knew if I died I would be in Hell, but I didn't know there was such a thing as salvation. I was calling on the Lord to spare me from dying. Sincerely, fervently crying out to Him to protect me as I sought to do right in this dangerous situation. Within a short period of time I heard the Gospel at a college and carreer Bible study with my girlfriend - how I could be saved from my sins and have a home in Heaven, and how the Word of God is our guide for our lives - and I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour. On the 13th of this month, it will be 15 years of being a believer.

well....I can't vote really....

God himself called me to HIM. Isn't salvation nothing of ourselves, but a gift from God? Isn't saying that that something other than God lead me to him putting to much credit on other things and not giving God his full credit?

it is nothing of ourselves, but only a gift from God, right?

So, for lack of being able to vote...GOD lead me to HIMSELF!

I understand that God must first lead people to Him with His Spirit (Jn.6:44), but how does He do it? My point is....HOW did God draw you to Him? What brought you to repentance?

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher. Romans 10:14
