We were robbed.

Last night while we were sleeping, someone(s) came in our apartment and stole a few things of ours. It has shaken us up because they came as close to us as needed to get my cell phone off the night stand right next to me. We all three slept through it all. :sad I'm at an internet cafe now because our laptop was one thing they got. However, it was an old and tired laptop and was getting close to needing to be replaced. I'm not sure when we'll be able to do that though, but I hope soon! We knew our back door wasn't super secure, and now we know to do something about that. This is a new apartment for us, and we knew we still needed to do some things to be settled. Robbery is sort of a common problem here, and I figured it would happen to us sooner or later.

We're sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thankful that even with this close encounter, we're all alive and safe!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Wow, you know what Katie, I was thinking a lot about you and Brant last night (Nathaniel and Jonathan didn't sleep well and I was up with them) and prayed for you all. Little did I know that something like this would happen. Praise the Lord you are ok. Did your mom know? She seemed like she was calm at church tonight?

Thank you all for your comments and prayers. These guys must have been really quiet because they broke into another apartment right into the bedroom window where the people were sleeping, and they even had to break outside bars to get in that one! My fil said maybe they had infrared lighting, but I don't know if they're that "classy", but they must have had a lot of practice! We can't have a gun here (obviously), but my hubby bought a big burgler bopper today (an axe handle). He's not sure if he'll be sleeping tonight.

Trent - I emailed my mom, and I'm sure we'll talk on the phone very soon. She's probably worried sick. She wouldn't have gotten that email until after church.

I don't think whoever did this is very up to date in thinking. They took the cash but not the credit card, the camera without it's battery charger sitting right next to it. We asked a friend, and they said the people who do this sort of thing aren't in the know enough to look for good stuff on the computer, but rather would just delete it all. I hope that will be the case because there's stuff in there that they could hurt us with. What a long day this has been! I'm at my hubby's office now and will probably visit again tomorrow.
