I'm in a bit of a quandry!

The missus bought me a Thompson Chain the other day and I told her that the next bible I was going to invest in was gonna be an Bearing Precious Seed.

But, I really dig the Cambridge as well (save for the fact that it doesn't have a wide margin :sad ).

For what I want (wide margin, no concord, no maps, no commentary, leather bound and with correct spellings and capitalizations. Not to mention one that lasts (no I can't afford an R.L. Allan)) I just can't decide??

Hmmm - your wife just bought you one and you're already thinking about replacement??? Whew!:lol:

I like the Bearing Precious Seed one - you can see it, at least.
I should explained better  :ooops

I already have a Thompson. The missus and the midgets went out the other day to the local Christian bookstore and bought me a few Bible Study tools and a new Bible.

She knew I wanted to remain KJV. But, wasn't sure which specifically to buy?

She thought I had said Thompson before so thats what she got.

I'm planning on returning the Thompson for either a Cambridge or BPS. But, I wasn't sure which way to go.

Sorry folks! :ooops

I would say, based on what you've posted, you would probably be happiest with the wide margin Bible. I know I'd love to have margins to be able to jot notes in. I like my Thompson Chain, but it's too crowded to write anything.

For some reason, I can't stand writing in my Bible. lol
I just bought my mom a Geneva Bible for Christmas, can't wait till it gets here. :lol

Even in my old work horse Bible I have very, very, very little writing in it. Some on the blank pages right inside the cover, and a couple notes in the margin. Other than that, I just used underlining.

I don't have any writing at all in any of my other Bibles.

I like Local Church Bible Publishers. The text is very faithful as far as spelling and capitalization. The price is good, the binding is good, and they have some good wide-margin options.

Forgive me Samer I was just there.
Can you tell me what the predominant difference is between the LCB and the BPS bibles? :puzzled:

I don't know much about BPS-Milford, but it seems Local Church Bible Publishers has a much greater selection of Bibles. I know LCBP takes very special care to make sure correct capitalization and spelling are preserved. It seems to be their emphasis, actually.

I got my Cambridge in college and it lasted through bus route and nursing home. I'm now on kid number 5 and it's still in great shape. It would be 17 years old now.

I don't know about BPS quality, but I will vouch for my Cambridge quality.

I've never owned a Cambridge but I've heard many great things about them from those who have and they all state they last virtually forever and endure a great amount of use.

I would like to have one myself someday.

My husband and I both got Cambridge's about 7 years ago. But the covers or part of them separated from both of them eventually. He had his re-glued and is still together, but mine is apart in the front now. We like them otherwise though. I don't think we're more rough with our Bibles than other people!
