Although I would hate to see it' date=' I do believe that McCain will win the nomination. In this time of war, what better candidate than a former POW?[/quote']

I now think thats a strong possiabilty .I just saw a new poll where he is leading in it .Which seems odd if so many people say they are against the war then why is he leading the pack now ?

Well, it is what it is. The people I've talked to don't like the war, but they know regardless of whether we like it or not, we have to deal with it. They also are concerned about national security issues. People here in Michigan are in desperate trouble because of the economy. We have been stuck with a dem. gov. for a while and things are not getting better--they are getting worse. Michigan is ready for a change, if McCain gets the nomination, I think even Mich. will vote Rep. in the Pres. election this time. Did you know that today when we vote in the primaries that only Hilary Clinton's name is on the dem. side to vote for?

Here is the reason I found :

On the Democratic side, there is no real contest.

After the national party stripped Michigan of its delegates, a penalty for moving its primary so early, none of the contenders campaigned in the state. Barack Obama and John Edwards aren't even on the ballot, leaving Hillary Clinton measuring her support against "uncommitted" delegates.

No delegates awarded so its of no point

Exactly. Whatever their reason, I've actually heard people complaining about it (a lot of people we know outside of church are dem.) I don't think they are as keen on Hilary.

Can they write in a candidate? Maybe some of the MI Dems will be mad enough at the national party to vote Repub. I would if it were me. Teach them a lesson for stripping the delegates. Sounds like a bunch of kids!!

That's what I think might happen......wouldn't it be funny?

I think at present time its to close to call, I believe it will be either, Huckabee, McCain, or Romney.

I really don't think none of them is worth voting for, although any of them would be better than what the democrats have to offer.

This is NOT a poll on who you are voting for, but rather a poll to see who you think the American people will elected as the Presidential Candidate for the Republican party. Again, this is for a prediction and not a vote on who you want to win.

I want to see how well you are at predictions.
And no, no prize will go to the winner. :smile

I noticed you left the candidate that you endorsed, Alan Keyes, out of your own poll - why is that? Has he dropped out?

Did you see the news that some Republicans are worried that Ron Paul could possible pull off a win in Nevada?

It seems no Republican candidate has set foot in Nevada in about two months and Ron Paul is the only candidate to run any ads in Nevada.

Wouldn't that be interesting if yet another Republican candidate won a State!
