When I go to somebody's house it seems like their refrigerator is always piled full and overflowing.

Ours is only moderately full after shopping and then almost bare by the end of the week. Its almost embarrassing.

Anyone else?

None of my friends have full fridges either. Our fridge could be a WHOLE lot smaller and it would be fine for the stuff we have in it.

My fridge is usually full of left overs - I clean it out once a week on Left-over day (we eat what ever is left), then refill it when I go shopping!

I consider a full fridge and pantry a wonderful blessing from God! I can remember times in my life when there was nothing to eat except maybe a bit of ketchup to smear on a crust of bread. "Ketchup sandwiches" we called them...

Our fridge is moderately full all of the time except the day we shop or the day before, because we work to clean it out, eat up left-overs and make room for the new stuff. We have a brood of growing kiddos (6), and usually have a huge covered glass bowl in the fridge filled with bulk canned fruit, pudding etc. to add to meals. Also, we always have a stash of raw fruits and veggies/salad--not to mention all of the gallons of milk!! (we go through a ton! And I even keep powdered milk on hand to bake with and for emergencies)

I make a menu and try to stick with that for grocery shopping. Sometimes the pantry gets full, esp if I have alot of cakes to do! Snacks for the kids lunches plus snacks that Andrew can have (without breaking out) and cereals and etc add up. But the fridge seems fairly bare alot of the time...leftovers don't last long around here.

I try to stick to somewhat of a menu too, (or I would go insane), but in our house, I buy ONE bag of apples, and each person gets one--and they're gone. Same way with many other things. Got to buy a lot more of stuff in order to avoid having to live at the grocery store!! I buy quite a bit of stuff in bulk, and because we live in a small house......I have to use my hallway linen closet as a "pantry" as well. Shopping with me is nuts.......2 overflowing carts.......hubby and I usually go without the kids to avoid more chaos. :frog The mess of putting all the groceries away is second only to the mess I make when I haul out my mixer and bake bread and such! Suzy, don't know how you do it making so many cakes--with little ones underfoot!

Never left overs in my house. The locust swarm devours all.

Goes in cycles ,don't try and have leftovers .I don't like them and so since it would only be me to eat them ,I try and not make to much .
