I am missing what you are getting at. Are you playing with words? The Scriptures quite clearly use the term risen from the dead in various passages - so yes, He did conquer death and rise from the dead.

Yes, it was a play on words, saying he didn't "rise" from the dead, he walked out of the cave. If it was a pit, that would require rising. Instead of "rise" like from slumber, I (for the jokes sake) take it as "rise" the physical action.

:dead: <-- the joke

I don't think these statements are fair. Blacks in a particular area (like the ghettoes of a city) may fit this more than whites in that specific area - but I doubt you can say these things as a general rule. Sin is sin - and we are all sinners, regardless of nationality.

Aids supposedly came from Africa - and when you study the cultures there, you will find that area of the world is filled with idolatry and fornication - therefore it is no wonder that aids is rampant there. It is getting more and more prevalent in North America, because North America is turning from the truth and getting more and more promiscuous and idolatrous.

As I understand the whole aids thing - it was a common ailment among monkeys - and people in Afrika eat monkeys like we eat chicken. That was how it was transmitted from monkeys to humans. Then the humans - being what they are, have spread it among themselves, until now it is becoming more and more common in the general population. Humans have spread plagues and diseases ever since Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, it has always been so and always will be. As medical science attempts to create a disease free world, they are acting as if they were gods (small g intended) - but as long as there is sin in the world there will always be disease and death.

As for Christ rising from the dead - there can be no doubt about that! He is RISEN and he is RETURNING - quite soon I think!

That's why the saducess were sad, you see...they didn't believe in the resurrection.

"Up from the grave He arose!
With a mighty triumph oe'r His foes,
He arose a victor from the dark domain
and He lives for ever with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah Christ arose!"

Our salvation depends on the resurrection...praise God He did arise!

Without the resurrection there is no hope. Salvation would be very empty without it. I would hope we have no Saducees on the OB.

1 Corinthians 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

AMEN!

1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

He is risen indeed!

Here is one.

There are something I may not know,
There are some places I can't go,
But I am sure of this one thing,
That God is real for I can feel Him deep within,
My God is real, real in my soul,
My God is real He has washed and made me whole,
His love for me is like pure gold
My God is real for I can feel Him in my soul.

Some folks may doubt, some folks may scorn
All can go and leave me alone,
But as for me, I'll take God's part,
And God is real for I can feel him in my heart,
My God is real, real in my soul,
My God is real He has washed and made me whole,
His love for me is like pure gold
My God is real for I can feel Him in my soul.

I can-not tell just how you felt,
When Jesus took your sins away,
But since that day, yes since that hour,
God has been real for I can feel His holy pow'r,
My God is real, real in my soul,
My God is real He has washed and made me whole,
His love for me is like pure gold
My God is real for I can feel Him in my soul.

Love this song!
We had an evangelist in our church who sang this. Man, was it great. He's in heaven, now, so it's even more real for him. Anyone who's been to Fairhaven remember Darcel? Couldn't he sing?

When John said he felt like singing a hymn that is the 1st song I thought of. No doubt, its a good one.

Yes, its been around for ages, copyrighted 1944.

Here is another one.

On Jordan's stormy banks I stand
And cast a wishful eye,
"Tward Canaan's fair and happy land,
Where my possession lie
I am bound for the promise land,
I am bound for the promise land,
O who will come and go with me,
I am bound for the promise land.

I've never heard that song' date=' is it a traditional hymn?[/quote']
That song has been around for a long time. I did a google search for the writer and came up with Kenneth Morris. He wrote it in 1944. It was listed in a Gaither Homecoming Songbook. Here's the link:

Hope that helps---not sure if you classify it as a "traditional" hymn, but it sure is a beautiful song.
