you live on this land. You vote. When you are living on this land and voting' date=' you are agreeing to whoever win the election can pass laws to solve problems and set thing straight. That mean you have to pay taxes if the person that won the election want more taxes. you can't just live here and do whatever you want and rebel. You shouldn't be voting for anyone. You listen to them when they set up a system that ask you not to murder. but won't pay taxes when they ask you pay it. You want them to set up a system for one thing (or even set up a Constitution), but when it comes to your money, you do not want them touching it.[/quote']
I want them(the elected representatives) to abide by the rules that are already established and in place, namely the constitution. It isn't relevant who wins the election as to whether or not I pay taxes, if they have overstepped the authority given to them by the constitution, then the rule of law is of no value. To say that another way, just because they get elected to a position does not give them the authority to tax at their freewill, they must abide by the laws as established or change the law, since SCOTUS has clearly ruled on the definition of Income tax in the 16th amendment and the law has not been changed, then any tax set outside of that rule of law is not binding. As I said in a previous post I do pay taxes, the ones that are biblical, just, and lawful.

You are absolutely right. But that doesn't make it a sin it just makes it usury and God gave the laws in the OT for the usury system, and their are a few politicians who have been trying to get rid of the FED for more than a few years.

Remember: Render onto Caesar what is his. [bible][/bible]Matthew 22:21 They say unto him' date=' Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.[bible'][/bible]

I've heard this so many times from Christians in America, and I would like to point out once again, that we don't have a Caesar in this country, Under a constitutional Republic, those people that are elected to office are supposed to be our "servants" not our "Masters". I don't know about you but "IF" I had personal servants, which I don't, I wouldn't let them decide how things should be done in my house, I would treat them as servants according to how God said servants should be treated. So why should I allow my "Public Servants" to master over me? They should be serving the public not lording over them.

I dunno. I dread the thought of Obama getting in....but I know its gonna be extremely close. The big cities are gonna pick Obama as usual, the rural areas will pick McCain as usual. It will be a scary night, November 4.

I don't love McCain, but the more I know about Obama, the more I just want anybody but him in office. Its kinda like, do you wanna live with your mother in law, or with Jeffrey Dahmer......

That last sentence is hilarious, kita. That would make a great TV ad for the Republicans. LOL. My MIL would feed me supper. With Jeffrey Dahmer...I would be supper. YIKES!! :eek

Actually I am going to completely bow out. Not only of this thread but from this forum completely. I left this forum a while ago 'cause every time I came here i found stress and strife. I came back a short time ago and I'm still finding stress and strife. One of my biggest challenges in my walk is anger management and it is very hard for me not to get angry and sarcastic here. This thread is a case in point. Many (not all) people in the OB seem to find it very easy to judge another's lifestyle when they never have even met that person. The sad thing is, I've allowed myself to get dragged down into the same abyss.

I apologize if I have ever offended anyone here. I wish you all the best and may God bless you all abundantly.

I can certainly agree with Mikado. The worst of me comes out with this political election. And, I am NOT proud to say that I have acted foolish in these discussions. Again, an occassional political thread is fine, IMO...but, politics is everywhere now. It is only going to get more heated. I don't like myself when I get Grrr over these political threads. It is a "no win" situation. Again, I am sorry for my actions towards my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Why can't we all just go back to the way it used to be? Well, I have pretty much bowed out of politics (enough on the news already) and I am staying my distance from OLB for the simple reason that too much stife is not good for anyone's body. I don't think it is healthy at all. JMHO. Love in Christ Jesus...and, waiting for Him to rescue us...I am Rapture Ready, indeed. Blessings all. :smile

I love how a bunch of you gave me and other Obama supporters gruff about how Obama supports alternative lifestyles and that was your reasoning for supporting McCain. McCain recently went on the Ellen Degenres show looks like he supports them as well. Tank

What precisely did he say? Do you have a quote?

While I believe the Scriptures teach that homosexuality is a sin; I don't believe that should be a reason to discriminate against someone in the work place, etc. If you hold to that, you would have start treating all people committing sin in the same manner; and I'm fairly well certain that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Him going on her show is all that is needed to refute (SP) anyone saying they will not support Obama because he supports alternative lifestyles it looks like McCain does as well. I have no problem with it. He can choose trc123 whether or not to go on the show not like if you are working somewhere with someone. Tank

I won't support Obama for many reasons, but if I had to choose one glaring one (other than his Robin Hood ideas that will push Socialism down our throats even further), it would be his stance on abortion. The man voted against a bill in his state that would outlaw allowing a baby delivered ALIVE during an induced abortion to be left to die without medical treatment. Some of these babies could live if treated. But no, he voted against it 3 times. Then he claimed he would have voted for it if it had the same wording that the federal law did...and HE was the one who kept that wording out of it. No - the man has no conscience. He'll not get my vote.

Hey LuAnne, since you're talking about Obama's attitude on the abortion issue, I heard something yesterday that just made me so mad. It was part of something he was saying about Sarah Palin's daughter being pregnant... he basically said that if one of his girls makes a mistake when she grows up, and gets pregnant, he's not going to punish her with a baby. Without directly saying it, he's basically saying that he would encourage his daughter to get an abortion if she messes around as a teen and gets pregnant! That is just so disgusting...

What about the innocent children that are killed in war caused by bad decisions from our leaders? Are there lives valued differently because they are not American? To me if you are anti abortion you should be very much against war as well. But no! you will put someone else In charge that will lead us right into another war. We are arming the middle east to eventually destroy Israel.

I'm thinking the reason for the supposed "disparity" is that the Old Testament is full of examples of God's command to Israel to go to war and wipe out all those in the land they were conquering (including women and children) and to this writing; I have yet to see where God commanded anywhere to reach up inside a woman's womb and rip out the life within her.

I could be mistaken, but that's what I'm thinking.

I do see your reasoning but then we are comparing America and its recent failure in foreign policy that has costed thousands of innocent children to die only to have Americans put another war hawk into the office. I do not think we America are on the same page as the old or even new Israel but yet some will say if we turn our back on Israel that is when we are done. Have we not equiped Iraq to be a free democracy based on the principles that they will defend democracy at all cost? Only to see them eventually turn their backs on us and Israel. On another note I did read that God asked one to sacrafice his son. He also smote people right on the spot in Acts. He is the giver and the taker of life. With all the God driven people in office through the 80s, 90s, early 2000s why is it still legal?

If they do this (which is a big if, since nothing indicates that they will), they will no doubt feel the wrath of our military. I don't understand why you think this is a big issue.

Tank, this is a good question. The answer is that the President cannot make or nullify laws in our country. So, his power in this area is limited to signing and vetoing legistation, and appointing Supreme Court justices. These things take time...too much time as far as I'm concerned, but such is the American system. I do believe that gains have been made. Conservative Justices have been appointed (and will continue to be appointed when McCain's elected). Bills have been passed (such as the Born Alive Infant Protection Act) that would have been vetoed had a liberal been in the Oval Office. (Have you read Obama's reasons for justifying full-blown infanticide--not just "abortion?" Talk about chilling!) Yes, abortions continue to be performed, but it is obvious that the Republican ticket will do much, much more to progress in a pro-life direction. Obama's answer is to use my money to "educate" the populace and to provide sex-happy teenagers with condoms and birth control devices (many of which abort a child, anyway). Assuming these kids DO remember to "be prepared" before committing the immorality that is encouraged by the system under Obama, will the number of teen pregnancies decrease? The public schools have been dispensing this junk for, I don't know, a couple of decades? What makes us think that teen pregnancies are going to decline just because these kids are getting more of the same trash they've gotten for years now? Short answer: they won't. Obama's plan is as ineffective as his view of human life is wrong-headed. The only place to overturn Roe v. Wade is in the Supreme Court. Because of pro-life presidents, the number of pro-life Justices has been slowly increasing. I say, keep it coming until there's a majority, and then Roe can be overturned.

Just to clarify, Republicans were not in control during the majority of the '90s (1992 to 2000). So, your argument is skewed.
