Members John81
Reports are flooding in across the globe, claiming Pope Francis has performed a miracle. The Cardinal of Naples called it a miracle when a vial of blood suddenly became liquid in the pope's presence. Is this deserving of "miracle" status? Watch the video and sound off. Members 1Timothy115
At the very best I'll deem it 'smoke and mirrors.' But then, I'm brash and have not gained control over my keyboard as of yet.
Members DaveW
Didn't read the article because I don't care. ......... But....... isn't blood normally liquid?????? Miss Daisy
Moderators Ukulelemike Posted March 25, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 25, 2015 Didn't read the article because I don't care. ......... But....... isn't blood normally liquid??????Its supposed to be ancient dry blood. And it is said to have turned part liquid, so they are calling it a 'partial miracle'. I suspect it is a device that releases a small amount of water into the 'blood' so that it liquifies. A simple parlour trick, and of course, no one would ever be allowed to inspect it to see what it actually is.
Members heartstrings
I he's that 'miraculous' why isn't he healing the sick, curing cancers, paralytics, restoring sight to the blind...raising the dead. And why is there so much organized crime in his jurisdiction? Miss Daisy
Moderators Salyan Posted March 25, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 25, 2015 Interesting... haven't heard of any other popes resorting to parlor tricks lately. Wonder what they're planning?
Members Covenanter
I understanding that when Mussolini in the 30s wanted Papal approval, the Pope enquired of the phial of Jesus' blood - which would give approval if it liquefied. It didn't.Mussolini then said, probably with menace - "try again!" It liquefied.
Members John81
That was my first thought, isn't blood already a liquid?? Then I found out it was supposed to be dried blood.Since this pope is so popular, and after all they went through with people demanding a quick "sainthood" for Pope John Paul, they are setting the groundwork to be able to quickly approve this popular pope as a "saint" after he passes.Regarding miracles, it's only required that one "proven" miracle was performed by a pope to meet that part of their sainthood requirements.Surely if God were actually giving miracle working power He would give it for a beneficial use (as we see examples of in Scripture) rather than to turn some dried blood liquid which serves no good purpose. Members heartstrings
If anything liquefied, it's either of the Devil, or no miracle at all; most likely the latter.
Members John81
Whether through the trickery of the devil or the magician tricks of the RCC, I see no actual miracle and certainly nothing godly occurring with the pope, his followers of their special blood. Members ThePilgrim
Those without God will see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe. All men must believe something, so if they won't believe truth they must believe a lie. I notice the article is at a charismatic site . . . . fits. Members MountainChristian
That could almost be a TBN special.

All men must believe something, so if they won't believe truth they must believe a lie. I notice the article is at a charismatic site . . . . fits. It's a charismatic news site which I check because they highlight some Christian related news that other sites don't. No doubt the miracle aspect might be of special interest to some of their Charismatic audience. The video is from CNN, which is where they picked the story up from. You are right, everyone believes in something and folks are always looking for something to validate what they want to believe in. This is why we've seen toasted cheese sandwiches with the face of "Jesus" burned into the bread become icons sold for much money. This is why there are always reports of statues of Mary crying. People want to believe so they see what they want to and when someone preys upon their desires and creates "miracles" for them to see, they blindly accept them and people flock to the home with the water stain on the wall which looks just like their perpetual virgin Mary. (As if they know what Mary looked like...or Jesus for that matter!)
