I tell you one thing, kevin.

I have always loved redhaired

just about all my good friends are redhaired. (about 6 or 7 of them)

my first exbf (more of a teenage crush because we only held hands and hugs) was redhaired. BTW, he is a friend of family today.

and guess what, I married a redhaired today (after I've broken up with a blond haired)

I knew who I was attracted to, and that's who I married.

And strange thing was that I wasn't even looking for a redhaired. He imed me on AOL asking about my profile.. At the time I didn't care what he looked like, because I really liked him. I didn't know he was a redhaired til much later.

That's cute.

I always had a thing for preachers' kids.. especially ones that were good-looking and could play the guitar and most importantly, had a good singing voice. I don't know why... I just had this thing about the way a guy sings. Well, of course most people here know the story of how I met Vince online... and I didn't know it until I really spent a lot of time around him in real life that he's a REALLY good singer and plays the guitar very well (and a couple other instruments).

Oh, and I always had a thing for tall guys... but I already knew Vince was tall a long time before I met him because he said how tall he was on his myspace profile... lol.

I'm voting for the Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin. (he's a write in for some states) check here for more info; http://www.constitutionparty.com/ba_stats.php
I've done a lot of research on the internet about the candidates and I believe that he is most in line with Christian values.

Seven Principles of the Constitution Party are:

1. Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death;
2. Liberty: Freedom of conscience and actions for the self-governed individual;
3. Family: One husband and one wife with their children as divinely instituted;
4. Property: Each individual's right to own and steward personal property without government burden;
5. Constitution: and Bill of Rights interpreted according to the actual intent of the Founding Fathers;
6. States' Rights: Everything not specifically delegated by the Constitution to the federal government is reserved for the state and local jurisdictions;
7. American Sovereignty: American government committed to the protection of the borders, trade, and common defense of Americans, and not entangled in foreign alliances.

For those of you that think I'm wasting my vote here is some advice from one of our founding fathers.

"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." -- John Quincy Adams

Great, go ahead and vote your conscience, I just hope there's enough of us left to keep that pro-abortion freak away from the White House.

We have had professing pro-life presidents, even congress controlled by professing pro-life Republicans and yet they never put an end to this mass murder.

Congress, with the backing of the president, has the power to end federal sanctioned abortions. Congress has the power to defund anything pro-abortion related. Congress has the power to declare the issue of abortion off-limits for the federal courts to review.

President Bush, who claims to be pro-life, had a congress dominated by Republicans (the supposed pro-life Party) yet thousands of pre-born babies are still murdered each week.

Their fruits, and their hearts, are clearly seen by their actions...and inactions.

I thought USA presidents are elected by an electoral college, not by popular vote? If popular vote is the way then Al Gore would have won in 2000, not Bush.

As far as voting goes; to me that's hands off for me and I would never insult my wife and her intelligence by demanding she think the same as I. After all, with a secret ballot one can vote any way they like and no other person knows the difference................

Peace! TRC

Well, as I said, my husband and I discuss everything. And there is very little that we disagree on. He doesn't require that I vote with him. I require it of myself, as I said. I personally believe that I am supporting his wishes when I vote for him. Admittedly, it is easier that we agree! :lol: But, if I didn't agree with him strongly enough, I just wouldn't vote. Yes, voting is a private thing...but, really, my hubby and I have no secrets from each other - including for whom we vote.

My husband doesn't insult me or my intelligence in any way. He doesn't demand that I think the same as he. He knows that I don't always, and we both appreciate what each other brings to our relationship.

Yes, Itl, presidents are chosen by the electoral college, but those electoral votes are decided by individual voters. So, if in one state the Dem nominee got just one more vote than the Rep nominee, that state's electoral votes would go to the Dem and vice versa. A total of 270 votes is needed. If there is a tie, it is broken by Congress. If that continues a tie, then the Speaker of the House is POTUS until the tie can be broken. Scary thought...the polls show that BO and JMc are so close...could we end up with Pres. Nancy Pelosi? :gross:

The Dems want to do away with the electoral college, especially in situations like 2000, and even 2004 - because they know that large cities like NYC, Chicago and Seattle tend to vote Dem, so they would win hands down.

In 2000, Gore supposedly got more popular vote - but most people don't know that the overseas military votes were disenfranchised...IOW, they weren't counted. Had they been, Gore wouldn't have been able to even hint at a recount in FL. Actually, under FL law, Gore had no real right to demand the recount anyway. But Dems are notorious for bending and breaking election laws. If you look at a map of the election in 2000, you will see that Dubya won the majority...but the concentration in the big cities is what put Gore's numbers up...he couldn't even win his own state!!

777 mentioned in another thread about D. Rossi, running for gov of WA state. He actually beat Gregoire, even in recounts, but she literally stole the election. Lots of crookedness goes on in politics that we aren't even aware of.
~~~~
Regardless of the fact that Dubya did nothing to stop abortion - I won't vote for a man who is so pro-abortion that he thinks aborted babies who survive should be left to die because that's the intent of the mother. And that is the principle upon which we will be voting against Obama by voting for McCain. Because we know that none of the 4 other parties has a chance to win.
BMB - I don't think you are wasting your voted, truly! But neither do we want to allow BO to get to the white house. Maybe our votes won't make a difference here in Indiana, but we are going to try.
My hubby and I had a discussion about this yesterday. My conscience told me this last night after prayer, finally. LOL. This board is a Godsend! I am learning more about things like this...that aren't talked about in my church. :smile
Thank you...brothers and sisters in Christ. :amen:
You know, after reading posts on this subject here as well as a couple of other sites I'm on I realize that many are like me. They really have no trust in either. So we are faced with a decision. Do we vote for a particular party just because we are of that party or do we vote because of all the issues involved or perhaps even the race or gender of a person?
We as Christians should never vote for anybody that goes against the Word Of God. I will never vote for ANYONE if they approve of abortion which is nothing less than legalized murder of the innocent unborn that has no way of defending itself. Also I would never vote for ANYONE that approves of sodomy or approves of anything other than that a man or woman as a husband and wife makes a married couple. Also one more thing for now, I would never vote for ANYONE who approves of illegals being here is ok and not treating them as criminals for they are in fact criminals.
There are many other factors that need to be considered but if one truly loves the LORD GOD they will vote according to scripture and not their pocketbook in which I'm so afraid that so many will and will overlook the moral issues.
I'll quit preaching for now. God bless you folks. wellglory!
KJB_Princess,
Now that Ron Paul has recommended Baldwin, can you add Baldwin to this poll?
I might sticky this thread to keep it up top.
Done. :Green
Oh great... everyone is going to have to vote again because it erased all the previous votes when I edited the poll. Oh well, maybe that's a good thing. :lol
How can one vote for the lesser of 2 evils?
Seems to me that since McCain picked Palin many think these 2 are going to be the savior of America, of course this is only my opinion from reading all the hype of Palin. And of course in the poll I started did not ask who anyone was voting for, I just asked who they though would win.
Sarah Palin is attractive, witty, has an interesting background and family, comes from "exotic and independent-minded" Alaska, and standing next to McCain, she looks like a conservative. That means/meant instant love for tens of thousands of Republicans and Christianss.
It's amazing how so many folks look at Palin as being something like a wonder woman and someone who somehow makes McCain all those things he's not.
It's also amazing how many professing conservatives and Christians who once said they would never back or vote for McCain are now promoting him.
