Thankfully I never really had to study out the Bible debate. One day just as clear as can be I "heard" the Lord tell me to go with the KJB. I obeyed and instantly reaped the blessings of doing so and have been reaping such ever since.

Isn't he one of those drinking milk? And weren't all of us non-TR at some point? He isn't wicked - just untaught - maybe resistant - but still not wicked! Calling him such and acting rudely toward him or Grace isn't the right response, no matter how frustrated we are. I'm calling you on this, Swath, because the language you've been using toward the two of them gives them every excuse to ignore the truth of what you are saying. I would hate to see them permanently reject fundamentalism because of how you've been treating them.

I think that fella has stopped drinking milk (now it's booze I suppose) and therefore stopped learning and growing.  Sometimes folks need a kick in the pants to get right about something and that's a difference between men and women.  You see it as harsh and mean, we see it as hard knocks or tough love as some call it.  Now who is Grace?

Please think of these verses when you read their posts and discussions with others:

“The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.” – Proverbs 10:8

“Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.” – Proverbs 15:10

It's not just this new crop, we do have a member who has been here for years espousing his personal preferences and "heart feelings" as trumping Scripture.

Over the years he's denounced biblical Baptist churches, promoted his protestant, liberal leaning church, advocated for open acceptance of homosexuals, gloried in his non-judgmental friendship with homosexuals, highlighted his having homosexuals in his home and spoke highly of his church accepting homosexuals.

This same person has also said things like alcohol, drugs, tattoos, abortion, homosexuality, worldly music and programs, and a host of other things are matters of liberty which he claims the Bible doesn't speak against.

After all these years he's proven he has no interest in learning Scripture, no intention of pursuing holiness, but rather has grown more bold in proclaiming his worldly christianity as being best and biblical Christianity as being wrong.

We have a church here in our town that has exploded in the past 5 years. Used to be fundamental now it's worldly. They had a town hall meeting with a few of the churches in the area and a board member asked what they were doing that the other churches were not. He said that they were the only church in the community that had a congregation that "looked like it's community". They pride themselves on taking anyone in.

Not sure where this fits. Just needed to get it off my chest. Dissapointing to say the least.

Thanks for being there. Sometimes I feel like Elijah......all alone. Then God let's me see things in here that reminds me of who HE is.

I can relate to that. There's a Baptist church in a small city about 30 miles from here that used to be a solid church but somewhere along the line they took a leftward turn. Since that time they've hired a female associate pastor, added all sorts of special things for women and of course their preaching and teaching has been very much tamed. All of that led to such an explosion of growth they had to build a new, larger building for their church house.

Prior to that in another small city about 30 miles from here in the other direction, another Baptist church took a similar course, though I don't think they have any female pastors. They also grew into one of the larger churches in that little city.

It seems if one wants a growing church they just have to offer fun, crafts, special attention and food. Along with that drop meaty Bible preaching, make the sermons (oops, better call them messages), make the messages upbeat and light, and not very long.

I've had a number of people try to talk me into going to their "fun" churches with their "fun" pastor who preaches "fun" messages and they always highlight the "fun" programs for children. They can't understand why I say no and why I prefer to stay in our smaller, "boring" church.

I'm really wondering why "banner" who openly espouses SDA as the only true way and openly denies the biblical positions of this board and most all members, including matters of salvation, is allowed to post so many threads and hijack so many other threads, all with the same purpose, all espousing the same SDA falsehoods, with most posts being exceedingly long and/or featuring unbalanced videos.

I don't know, I don't have the "power to stop",unless I delete the whole thread. I think there has been a desire to try to show him his errors and therefore I've not just wholesale deleted (though it IS my inclination).

I'm always willing to give someone a chance. This person came to the board in a civil manner and claimed to want to discuss certain matters through a study of the Scripture. Such could have been fine but this person has proven he has no intention in engaging in actual discussion or study. He has started several threads and hijack others all with one intent, to promote SDA teachings through exceedingly long postings and false teaching videos.

In effect, this person has become a serial spammer of SDA propaganda.
