Obamacare Has Arrived At My Work

The best medical care in the world is found in the U.S. and it was built on a free market system.  The more government involvement over the years, the higher the cost.  Enter Obamacare.

We have been told we will be able to keep our health plan if we like it.  Are you on an employer plan?  Businesses are free-market driven and must keep their costs as low as possible.  They can eliminate the health care benefit and let employees enroll in the federal plan.  In the past few weeks there have been announcements from a variety of corporations that they plan to do just that.  Their competitors will have to do the same because they have to compete with the companies that no longer have to consider medical coverage in their bottom line.

Too bad our elected officials have brought this to our homes with impunity.

Just curious, why wouldn't you want to purchase health insurance?  If you get hit with cancer or other catastrophic injury or illness, it will really help you financially.

Young folks either cannot afford or are healthy and don't want to waste their money on it.  Now as it pertains to Obummer Care, it's immoral, evil and un-constitutional.  It's also extremely expensive and offers less now and even less later.

Just wait until the death panel looks at your case when you're old and need a new hip and colon cancer removed and they'll say no, it won't benefit society to do it because you're retired and no longer contribute to the cause.

But are not many hurt financially in the current system?  I've known people who were uninsured go bankrupt when a catastrophic injury happens.  They cannot afford the bills they incur, and declare bankruptcy.

My wife just had a baby, there is no way I would have been able to pay all of the medical bills if we were uninsured.

Almost all of the young folks at my local church do not have insurance and are popping out kids left and right on meager salaries.  They are frugal and pay their way, even having their kids at home instead of the hospital.

The troubles you mention are caused by the same people who you think are doing us a favor by forcing Obama Care on us.  Someday you'll learn that Statism is evil and contrary to God's Word, I hope!

Why don't I have health insurance? Well, I don't, in general, have any trust in doctors, particularly when over 100,000 deaths occur each year due to doctors, be it because of perscrition drugs, and just plain errors. Instead, my wife and i study to see to our owwn health-cancer is both avoidable, and, if it does occur, curable through natural means. Consider this: what good has all the many years of research done for cancer care? With all the multiplied millions donated and spent in research, (and the considerable amount of donations to pay staff and NOT research), the mthods are the same: cut, burn and poison, and hope to kill the cancer before you kill the patient. Vitamins B-17 and C will protect one from cancer, and cure cancer if it comes. Staying away from crummy processed food and GMO products and refined sugars and grains will help avoid cancer. Ceasing the use of commercial soaps and shampoos will help, since all have benzene in them.

Now, should I sever a limb or something that is not feasable for me to fix myself, then I'll go to a doctor and pay my bill over time. But last time I almost removed my pinky, my wife saw to it and it is fine today. I take my vitamins, minerals and supplements, eat right, and, Lord willing, all will be well.

Mike, medicine is a huge field so some areas are a waste (such as AIDs research) and others like diabetes and cancer have allowed for earlier detection, treatments, etc.

Can you recommend a book or two by real Christians on vitamins, healthful eating and such?

My experience with doctors since adulthood has left a lot to be desired.  I've had major health issues that went undiagnosed for years.  However, once I was in front of the right doctors, some of my ailments were diagnosed and treated/cured almost immediately.  Our biggest obstacle as of late has been in dealing with our government insurance, they constantly insert themselves between the doctor and patient and it's only going to wax worse as Obama Care gets up to speed.

I miss the old days when I could schedule an X-Ray, MRI, teeth cleaning and eye exam in the same week.

So far (notice I said so far) they are allowing you to retain Christian medi-share type programs to be your "insurance provision". Given time I expect that to be removed since you can't join if engaged in activities that increase your chances of activity related health costs (promiscuity, drinking, smoking, etc) since that's so politically incorrect, intolerant, judgmental, ad nauseum.

Back in the 90's I paid 20 dollars a month before Hillary Clinton got a hold of health care. Last decade I was paying $45 every month. Now they say that I can expect to pay $500.00. I only make  a thousand net. $550.00 goes to my landlord leaving me with owing somebody, I don't know who, but I'm getting a penny!

And, of course, Congress, at least all the Deomcrats, though that may not be all, have exempted themselves from the whoe Obamacare debacle, some staffers even threatening to quit if it had to apply to them. Our government today is completely without any public restraint.

I am considering starting a petition to bring it up to public vote as to them having to participate in plans they make mandatory for the rest of the country. There is no good, common sense reason anyone can give as to why they should make it mandatory for 100% of the country, except for themselves. If it is all they say it is, then they should be pleased as punch to use it, as well. That they are fearful of it tells me book-loads about it and them. They MUST be made to be accountable to the citizens of the country again, as they were meant to be.

Well, it actually isn't mandatory for 100% of the country. There have been a good number of exemptions given.  (that sentence just gets me...our servants, our employees - POTUS and Congress - are giving (as well as getting) exemptions to something that they should never have "deemed" into existence in the first place!)

I agree wholeheartedly that they must be made accountable.  They are indeed a "fearful master" George Washington warned.

There was a news clip saying how affordable some of the healthcare insurance is now, even as low as $100 dollars a month, but they only gave a mention in passing that with such low premiums, some of that low cost insurance comes with deductibles of up to $5,000!

So, one might find themselves spending $1200 on health insurance they didn't even want, and then if they need to use it, they must pay out another $5,000 dollars before it will do them any good.

Not to mention the fact doctors are not required to accept that insurance so one could find themselves with insurance that won't even get them in to see a doctor.

In today's local paper there was an article, Arkansas Democratic senator is trying to help local school board because of soaring health insurance policies for all employees of the school. I feel sure our local school is not the only one in our state or this country facing that problem.

Yet the democrats are still saying ObamaCare is not raising no ones health insurance policies, that it makes health insurance only affordable.

Very interesting article.  The Constitution gives the power of the purse to the House (Article 1, Section 7, Clause 1) not the Senate.

http://gopthedailydose.com/2013/10/02/obamacare-can-defunded-without-senate-approval/

"If Obamacare is removed from the government budget, presented, and voted on as a separate bill, Obamacare can be defunded by the House and the Senate and the President has no constitutional authority to override the House decision."

Mr. Obamacare has stated he will not negotiate on Obamacare, Mr. Reed has said he will not negotiate on Obamacare.

Two of a kind they be.

But my refusal to compromise is based on my rights as a free citizen of this country, while his is based on wanting to maintain what we sees to be his legacy, the only thing he succeeded in as President-a sad legacy, indeed.

Here's an article, take it for what its worth, on someone's experience already in seeking to opt out:

NaturalNews) As more Americans wade into the complicated, confusing mess that is Obamacare and its health insurance exchanges, they are beginning to learn how punitive, punishing and threatening the law is going to be.

If the very recent Facebook post describing a man's experience when he attempted to sign up for Obamacare coverage is even halfway accurate, this law will turn out to be the most oppressive threat to our freedom since the days of King George. And that's not hyperbole.

Fines? Home levies? Seizing fines from bank accounts?

Via Infowars.com:

A man who attempted to sign up for Obamacare online was told that a fine of over $4,000 dollars a year for refusing to take out mandatory health insurance could be taken directly from his bank account, and that his drivers license would be suspended and a federal tax lien placed against his home, according to an entry on the HealthCare.gov Facebook page.

If that information is legitimate, Obamacare's implementation is going to be a helluva lot more draconian than anyone, from Nancy Pelosi, to Harry Reid, to President Obama himself, led the country to believe.

Potential Obamacare customer Will Sheehan says that, when he tried to sign up for Obamacare and then register to opt out, he received a most threatening warning. His full post reads:

"I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 "Silver Plan" and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I "opt-out" and chose to continue along with no insurance.

I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the "REPERCUSSIONS PORTION" for "non-payment" of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with "Non-Payment" and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy "Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is "Free" or even "Affordable."

Sheehan also said that the site requires you to input all of your personal information before providing you with information regarding costs, which means a database of "insured" people is being built, according to Infowars.com. He went on to say that, since he couldn't afford the coverage, he'll simply have to forego it, thus breaking the law, and pay the fine - which of course now leaves him with nothing in the way of health insurance coverage (and with a major health condition).

Infowars.com notes:

The federal government has consistently denied that any fines pertaining to Obamacare non-compliance could be seized from bank accounts, despite reports last year that the IRS had hired 16,500 new agents to harass citizens who attempt to evade the new law.

Hell's coming with it

"There's no criminal sanctions for not paying this, and there's no ability to levy a bank account or do seizures," then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman said in April 2010.

Also, the law itself states, Americans who refuse to pay for mandatory health insurance coverage "shall not be subject to any criminal prosecution."

Sure.

Further, Section 1501(g)(2) of the Affordable Care Act states that the IRS cannot "file notice of lien with respect to any property of a taxpayer by reason of any failure to pay the penalty imposed by this section."

So, either Sheehan's account is fiction - or the government, as well as the law's backers in the White House and Congress - have simply been lying to the American people all along. If the latter is true, Obamacare's coming, and hell's coming with it.
