They haven't turned the heat on in our church yet. So far, they have never had it really too hot there. A couple services where I thought it a was a bit warmer than I would prefer, but never actually too hot. Good pastor!

Yep. That is how my pastor is. The heat is on when it NEEDS to be. The air is on when it NEEDS to be. Yes...good pastor. :thumb The more conservative...the better, IMO.

Good grief I have checked and checked for open windows and everything is closed but it just feels CHILLY in here, even with a small bit of heat on. Goodness.

I love the cooler weather! The heat will be turned on in our apartment when the heat for the whole building is turned on. Actually the whole city basically gets the heat turned on at the same time - on November 1st. Last year it was quite cool in our place for about 2 weeks, but this year has been warmer. It's been getting up around 70 during the day most days. Right now, the water to feed the hot water heaters in our whole building has been cut out and they're supposed to install new ones. Then, just within the past hour or two, we had our kitchen flooding all the sudden. It turns out that some other workers didn't know our pipes were cut out, and so these other guys had turned on the water to test if it's working right. We're on the 1st floor, and all the 1st floor apartments started flooding! They turned off the water as soon as the complaint level was high enough to get them to listen. :bonk: Fortunately my hubby was able to rush home and helped me with the flood mess, and now it's mostly cleaned up. I'm sure you all wanted to hear about this morning drama at our place, right? :Bleh

I actually turned the a/c on a few days ago, it was warm in here. It stays warm enough where I am, I haven't had to touch the heat yet. The highs are in the mid and low 70's, sometimes upper 60's. Lows are in the upper 40's and mid 50's. Might stay warmer being on the 8th floor.

There's a nip in the air here. I love it! It's been cool enough at night to need 2-3 blankets, and my hubby turns on the stove burners in the morning to cut the chill. We also have an electric heater that looks like a fireplace and is on wheels - so we can move it where we need it. He got that out of storage Sat. We've used it twice, for about half an hour. But we haven't turned the heat on yet. We always try to see how long we can go. This year, since we have the heater, we may be able to last longer. All of our pipes are inside the house, so if we position the heater near them, maybe we can last... :Green Since we aren't home most of the time during the day, we hate to turn the heat on. NIPSCO just doesn't need our money!!

Katie - that's one way to get the floors cleaned, eh? Glad things were able to be cleared up. Interesting concept - the whole area's heat being turned on at the same time.

Winter's finally coming up here, too, although we had the nicest Indian Summer up till last week. I like snow, but I'm not looking forward to icy roads for the next six months... :sad

I got frosted here in up here in Michigan. It was pretty cold last night.

You are NOT kidding!! The only thing good about that freezing cold rain we're getting today, is that it is NOT snow!! I am most definitely not ready for winter yet......although, a blanket of snow on Halloween might be not be all that bad. :tum
