Secretly, I sometime think God controlled the time when he made the Earth, and that he made it like you see when you press Fast-Forward on VCR or DVR

That is so cool! Good thinking on that one. :thumb

Hey, TS. I took Archeology at Kent State University.

I am not sure how much they support the Bible, now---or if they do? Just be careful, b/c, personally---I want you to stay with OB. :smile

BTW, back then, at KSU---it was zilch! :lol

Naturally speaking Yes ! OB has been great to me since I got on board. I don't intend to leave. OB is a great support. Thanks Candlelight - T.S. :cooldude:

I don't think it really matters what the carbon 14 dating says.

The Earth appears to be old just like Adam appears to be mature when he was first formed. If I was Adam's age when he was first made, I would be just an infant.

I don't think that the earth was made to look "old". There would be no reason for God to do that. Instead I think scientist's are greatly lacking in their understanding of the facts which they have, and to be honest I feel the same is true of creation scientists. It is rather like the blind men and the elephant. Only difference being that creation scientists will generally agree to what little the only one with sight(the Lord) has said on the subject, while evolutionists do not even believe that sight exists so to speak.

Agreed.

Many scientists try to fit everything into their preconceived ideas and some creationists try to fit God inside some box that will give them "acceptable" answers to many questions.

Cleveland Baptist Church has a wonderful professor at Heritage Bible Institute. He teaches the Bible so that scientists can really understand it. He was born in Utah. He was raised Catholic, but he knew the Mormon sect (very well.) I don't know how he ended up in Cleveland. I have heard so many phenomenal things about this man. They say he is such an awesome teacher in this area. :thumb

I don't think it wasn't meant to be made to look young either. But to made as it is completely formed and good. It just appears old to scientists because of that.

Of course, we shouldn't forget about Noah's flood either which changed the Earth.

BTW, deafnva77...my post wasn't for you, or anyone on OB. It is for someone who stumbles across this thread. Also, I just wanted to give out that information. :wink

When I press fast-forward on my VCR, I get lots of flickering and fuzzy lines and people on-screen running around in a frenzy.

The bible teaches a literal six day creation and a "young earth". However, the science behind many things is not "air tight". Science changes all the time, at no time do scientists have all the facts on everything, indeed, they only rarely have all the facts on anything. As scientists either learn or think they learn, they make changes, that is the nature of science. Fortunately, God has all the facts on everything at all times and when he makes a statement we can believe it without fear that it will later be revised. :wink

I disagree. The Bible teaches that God created the universe. The passage is written in very poetical form, and uses days and nights to show that God created in an orderly fashion. I do not believe it is a 6 literal day and nights.....after all, God is outside of time, he created time. Time did not exist when God created, so who knows how long it took?

I don't see the Bible as a science book. It is a book that reveals God to us. I respect those who believe in a literal 6 day creation, but honestly do not agree. I tend to believe in more of an old earth.

Well, considering that God said that evening and morning were the first day, the second....I tend to believe in a literal 6 day. Yes, the Bible reveals God to us. But since God is the Creator of science, there is science in there as well.

For instance - did you know that the man who invented anasthetic (he was a Jew, BTW) got his idea from God's putting Adam to sleep to remove the rib...

There's a lot more in there that is fascinating that applies to science. Get a good book on science and the Bible and you'll find an amazing amount!

Considering the views you have expressed on other subjects, that is more or less the belief I would expect you to hold. However, you are very wrong. You need Christ to remove the scales from your eyes before you can ever recieve the truth on a wide range of issues.

One thing is certain, without the Holy Ghost opening the Scriptures up to you there is no way to truly understand the Word of God.
