Beats me! I just posted the old rhyme. I don't think it has any merit although I'm a Wednesday's child (full of woe) and I do tend towards being melancholic.

It is a cute rhyme, Katie. I know I have heard this "rhyme" many years ago. Thanks for posting. :-)

I know it has "no merit" but...I think "Thursday's child has far to go" means that I still need to learn, and learn, and learn!! I got so tired of teaching. Since 2003, it has been my time to learn, AGAIN! :amen:

I had to go look it up, too. I was born on a Friday. Not the 13th, though, John! I was born on the 26th of Feb, but was due on the 29th. Hmmmm - if I'd been born on leap year day - I'd only have had 12 birthdays so far! :Green

My youngest son was a New Years baby too. :thumb In fact, he was the first baby born in our county that new year. :Green

In the town I was born in I was the first baby for the year. It was a very small town. In fact, I made the front page of the paper. The BIG headline though concerned the junior high burning down New Year's Eve.

My folks really raked in the goods because of when I was born. The various merchants in town contributed various merchandise and services. If I remember right (from reading the newspaper article) some of what they received were diapers, bottles/bottle warmer, diaper service and both of my parents received clothing.

Yep, our little guy got some goodies too. I don't recall it all but I do know he has one or two 50 dollar saving bonds from that. Oh, and there was a full color picture of my wife and I sitting on our couch holding our little boy on the front cover of the county paper. :thumb
